The staff was great. The food was excellent.
Could update the doors to the rooms and add an extra lock inside.
Flies can be an issue but out of the staffs control. Beach area and access to the other resorts is convenient.

My husband and I chose this adults only hotel/resort because we were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary along with his birthday. After our experience, I wish we had chosen somewhere else for the money we spent on this 10 day trip.
Pros:
- the weather is beautiful
- the waiting staff/ambassadors are great and always ready to help
- the view is gorgeous and the water is crystal clear
Cons:
- the beach is filled with rocks and the only area with soft
sand is where the watersport area docks and we had to keep moving
- be ready to be judged by two male bartenders. my husband and i skipped breakfast every morning so we usually came down around 1PM to start our day by having lunch and then going to the beach. one day, around 4PM the bartender told my husband he was cut off (because he thought we were drinking all morning) and had the audacity to call my husband drunk. another day, i ordered a drink and the bartender told me
i'm an alcoholic. i have been on a lot of all inclusive vacations and i have never been treated this way. the audacity of these two guys to not care about our feelings or to ruin our vacation and say these things in front of other guests. i was left absolutely disgusted.
I would not recommend this hotel/resort.

There were many things that were supposed to be 'included' according to their website that just were not. when we arrived (late flight), we were told there was no food (even though 24/7 food is advertised) so after spending over 1/2 our day on planes and in airports, we couldn't even get a bite to eat when we arrived. The next morning, we slept in (due to our long day traveling the day before) and my wife tried to get some breakfast at 10:30am but was told that breakfast was over and we missed it. she had to fight with several staff just to get a bowl of fruit. The site also advertises 'motorized watercraft' as being included but we found out on-site that we had to pay extra. The location was beautiful and the atmosphere was great, but the offers promoted on their website were not honored.

This was our second stay at The House, the first being in 2018 before it was taken over by Marriott. Unfortunately we felt that the service and attention to detail had slipped during this time. We had a nice relaxing stay but felt that some of the staff (not all), appeared disinterested in helping with any queries we had. We had arranged for a car to collect us from the airport (which had been confirmed via email) but upon arrival there was no car and the hotel said they hadn't organised it. They offered to pay our taxi fare but no apology was given. We had to ask for the toiletries in our room to be replenished on a couple of occasions (which would normally be done automatically), and the bathroom looked as though it was in need of some attention.The lunchtime service was sometimes slow and on one occasion we waited an hour and a quarter for our food. We asked the waitress to check it for us but she just mumbled something and walked away. Overall our stay was enjoyable. The food and drink was very nice and the location is fabulous. However I think when the prices are this high the service should be impeccable.

Expedia your agents prioritising to celebrate what I can only imagine was a Christmas party over putting my cancellation request through to this hotel has cost me £929.00.For 7 weeks (since December 15th 2021), hours on end your agents have phoned me to the “back office” to investigate resulting in further weeks of emails “requesting a further 48 hours to investigate”. This has gone on long enough, your service is disgraceful. Even with proof from the hotel giving consent to void the booking if Expedia (being the third party) cancel it their end, as well as the hotel making direct contact with Expedia to give them the cancellation emailed you still didn’t make contact within the requested timeframe (12hours).

Overall had a wonderful time at The House in Barbados.
Staff were super-friendly and the food and service were excellent. Perfect position on the beach, and adequate space for all guests. Would have been nice for the island-wise famous Daphne’s restaurant to be open, but that will be re-furred and open again soon.

This is a very clean, quiet, and beautiful Ocean from hotel in Barbados. The staff is very friendly. They give me excellent recommendations for shopping and restaurant. Excellent places for couples.

At the breakfast buffet you had to ask for plates, glasses, food etc.not working. No tour disk and no tour manager to arrange for this, you can call a taxi and make a tour by yourself. The sand beach is not existing the island is an old coral so not a lot of sand beaches. The hotel is extremely quiet with no background music, we asked for this so we just had some background music. A lot of very good restaurants is around this area and we recommend you to these, specially Scarlet just across the street form the hotel better and cheaper that the hotel and the service is excellent. Please be aware there is an extra fee pr. person at check out for every day you stay at the hotel. Please note there is no elevator at this hotel only stairs. Not recommended for people with walking problems, short breath etc. and not possible to move around in a wheelchair.

A wonderful hotel experience made special by the location and the staff. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who exude helpfulness and friendliness. The location is on the beautiful Paynes Bay with its golden beach and turquoise ocean. The hotel is in need of some TLC but this is outweighed by the overall experience.

We had a wonderful stay at the House and will definitely be back soon. The House truly delivers on exceptional service all round with all the staff ambassadors doing their very best to cater to all our needs. Paris the general manager is great and makes sure all her guests needs are are catered for. The champagne breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapés are great and all included too which is a nice touch. We loved the fact it is an adults only hotel and also it’s more personal touch/boutique nature given it only has 34 or so rooms. The hotel is right on the beach too with stunning views. Overall a truly lovely experience!

Lovely location, welcoming and attentive staff. Impressed by the number of repeat guests we met, we would also now certainly return. Champagne (real) breakfasts and free water sports are lovely touches in what can be an expensive country to visit. Only recommendation for improvement would be that the bathrooms could benefit from a refresh.

The property is very clean. Staff is mostly attentive. Beach is quite rocky, hard to walk into the water to snorkel. We had difficulties with anyone engaging us for a drink while we on the beach. Their website specifies 24/hr room service, this is NOT the case. Their welcome brochure specifies in room breakfast was available until 11 am. This was also NOT case. We tried to order in room dining at 10:10 am and were told it was not an option, but instead offered their breakfast buffet to us which ended at 10:30. We said no thank you. When we did go to the beach, shortly before 11 am, they informed us they were holding the breakfast buffet open on for us, which at that point we had no interest. Had they communicated they were holding the buffet open, we would have gladly come down sooner to eat. What they advertise on their website & their welcome brochure, compared to what is offered is very different. They had us sign a "pass card" upon check in, which allows us to visit the sister resorts. We were told that we would receive the laminated cards the next day, we did not receive ours until the evening before we checked out, 4 days later. Our AC went out in our room, we had to move rooms. It was a fairly seamless issue, as they were helpful in moving us. It's a very unfriendly resort, they do nothing to get guests to mingle. We had to ask for our Expedia VIP amenity as well. We've never had to ask for that at other resorts worldwide. We would not recommend this property.

Beautiful hotel at a nice location. Staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel offers tea time at 4pm, which was really cute.They dont have twin bed even though it says it on Expedia and the hotels website, so if youre not staying with a loved one, just remember that you will be sharing a bed. My only complaint was the stray cat that was constantly at the outdoor lounge area and at the dinner tables at night. She didnt jump on the tables but it wasnt too pleasant to have a cat staring at you will you tried to eat.

Lovely stay at this small hotel. Great service. Room (ocean facing) was very spacious and nicely furnished. Very nice bathroom. Great view over the sea. Noise from the bar in front was irritating but only on a few occasions. The beach was very nice and good swimming. Nice little extras offered such as the afternoon tea and the odd small snacks and sunglass shining on the beach. Daphne's the hotels semi-attached restaurant was a little disappointing. Much better good restaurants on the island - or even across the road at Scarlett's.
