Good nights sleep! Great breakfast!!

Was disappointed upon arrival, but pleasantly surprised upon entering the hotel and the up keep inside.

Parking was difficult due to lack of pull-through options. We ended up behind the property, climbing a slope, and navigating a zig-zag ramp with our luggage and little ones. Staff was extremely helpful and efficient. Carpet in the room blackened our feet! Items filthy! The baby had gray hands and the knees of her pjs were dirty. This has become the norm in hotels but, where little ones are concerned, hotels need to do better.

Very comfortable. Just needed a stopover while traveling.

Convenience of easy access to the freeway. The hot breakfast is a big plus also.

We were in a room on the first floor directly off the lobby and that opened into the dining/breakfast area. Very noisy in the morning and not very private. Was very weird to open your hotel room door into the breakfast room with people eating there.

This is a quite new facility, generally well maintain3ed. Given that it’s i a town of 1500 population and far from major cities, it’s a real gem by comparison with its competitors. Although the motel is right next to I-49, it is well constructed and there is no obvious traffic noise inside the hotel. That alone makes it stand out from similar options along Route 66. The breakfast service is exceptional. They offer eggs custom cooked seven ways (including omelets), good coffee, bacon or sausage, etc. There were minor maintenance issues. The ice machine for the second floor was broken, and the air conditioner in our room was “sweating” heavily, resulting in a wet carpet near the unit. Management seemed appreciative of notification of these issues, not defensive. Travelers should note that there are about a dozen restaurants in Shamrock, and almost all of them are closed on Sunday evening. Fortunately, the one non-chain restaurant that is open on Sunday is very good. See my separate review of Grif’s Steak House.

Eggs were cooked to order (and were part of the complimentary breakfast!). This was an unexpected treat as hotel breakfasts are usually not anything to write home about. The latte machine (also part of the complimentary breakfast) was also appreciated. Best breakfast at an affordable hotel that I have ever experienced!

I love Best Western, but this time it wasn't good at all. They didn't give us our room that we have reserved. We had to use a rollaway bed which wasn't ready either as we've arrived at 1:30am. And most unprofessional guy at the front desk who didn't do his job, but was having fun with his friends who he has invited to spend time with him on his night shift. It appeared he gave our room with two bed to his friends. Best Western didn't offer anything to compensate for such ugly service.

Loved the eggs to order at breakfast.

We needed a room just for the night, we were passing through on a long road trip. Service was great, the woman behind the desk was very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great.

Breakfast was great, the square pillows were weird and uncomfortable. There was some dirt on the bed.

Our bathroom had mold growing on the ceiling. Not typical of this hotel we’ve stayed here before.

The room is really nice but allot of rusting fixtures in the bathroom & door damage.

Very nice hotel for a small city. Big grocery store in walking distance. Great mexican restaraunt in the city. Very good breakfast included. Good value for the money.

Got to my room after a long day of travel. Room not very cool. I set the air conditioning as low as it would go and fan as high as it would go, and still did not cool adequately. Water pressure in the shower was low, but it worked. After showering and eating a bite, went to bathroom to wash my hands, no water came out of the faucet. Checked tub/shower NO WATER. Toilet flushed but did not fill back up. Called front desk, no one answered. Rechecked bathroom - same - called front desk no one answered again. Turned faucets on and left them on and eventually water started running. Had water after that, but what the heck?? Lots of traffic noise and overall hallway noise. It was just one night - and the water did come back on - so not the end of the world. Would I stay there again...most likely not.

Check in time was 3 PM however when we arrived after 4 PM, our room still wasn’t ready. I will say they gave us a Free upgrade, however the room, especially the bathroom was pretty smelly. When my daughter and I were getting ready for bed, we pulled back the blankets and they were bugs in the blankets. Pull back the blankets on the other bed and found more bugs At 11:30 PM at night literally had to pack up our whole room and drive an hour away to find another hotel room

Lol our back window was a view of someone’s backyard. Over all it was nice the breakfast in the morning was great there was someone to cook you eggs anyway you want them, it was very well done!

Room wasn’t clean. It wasn’t ready…Dust/lint everywhere especially on coffeemaker and inside coffeemaker. Spiderwebs. And cockroaches and spiders. Asked front desk to switch me rooms, I explained to her the problem and said she wasn’t able to. I offered to pay extra/difference was told not possible, don’t have additional rooms. I asked if maybe housekeeping or her could assist with the cleaning and I’ll stay in that room. Was told housekeeping wasn’t available and she couldn’t leave the desk. Was forced to sleep there.

Check in was prompt, the hotel was very well maintained and clean. Our room was spotless and well stocked. Hotel staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and the breakfast attendant tended to our needs very quickly. Overall it was a very nice, comfortable stay.

The hotel was nice, the continental breakfast was ok. If I were going through Shamrock I would stay there again.
