Hot as hell. There was a fan, but it did of course not cool anything down, but moving the air arround made it a bit more bearable. Still, it was only about +22 outside, and the curtains drawn, so a bit of a mystery how it could be so hot inside.

We noticed that the interior and facilities of the hotel were somewhat outdated and not quite in line with the standard we have experienced at other Scandic hotels where we have stayed. Interestingly, there are two more Scandic hotels on the same street. This raises the question of what standard those hotels maintain. It looks like our next visit to Turku will involve exploring these alternatives.
It's worth mentioning that the hotel still gets approval, primarily due to its excellent geographical location, as it is located right next to one of the city's more reputable hotels.

First trip to Turku, the riverside is the best area by far, lots of restaurants and bars. Recommend the castle to visit. Allow half a day cos its massive.
Although we enjoyed Turku, the Scandic Atrium was a huge disappointment. Although well located a shortish walk from the railway station and the riverside, the hotel is well overdue for a re-furb. The weather was quite warm during our visit and the room was like an oven with no aircon, so sleeping was very difficult. The hotel did provide a small electric fan, but this was pretty ineffective. only able to open a small window. Breakfast was ok, but fairly limited. Very busy at check in, but staff helpful and polite. Seems to be popular with families with small children, who we assumed were visiting the nearby Moomin Land.
Felt that the hotel did not represent good value for money and was probably the worst we have stayed in during our regular trips to Finland.

sadly enough not the best hotel of the Scandic group. Rooms and furniture have obviously had better days; there is no airco in the room, which the friendly staff helped to overcome with a fun.
Internet does not work; work laptop did not want to connect in view of imminent threats by accessing the Scandic Easy network ... at Tampere, this posed no issue what so ever. So, Atrium should have a look at its settings.
Staff is very helpful and friendly; this compensates to some extent for the worn-out status of the hotel.

Unfortunately, not all rooms had air conditioning.
The room was really hot during the 30 C heat wave.
On the plus side was the great location, parking garage and breakfast ok.

No aircondition in a very warm room, just a small tablefan and a small window that had to be open.
Hotel needs an upgrade, the interior and faclities are old. Breakfast was standard ok but needs an upgrade as well.

The hotel is quite old and at least some of the rooms start to be a bit outdated interior and condition wise but the Warm and Welcoming service and breakfast compensate to the lack of polishing in the furniture etc. Great location in the middle of the city!

Quite nice hotel in a good location only a few minutes’ walk from the city center. Also a nice swimming pool and sauna downstairs. Very good.

Excellent staff service arranged early check-in with a room upgrade for no extra cost.
However the advertised "king-size bed" is just two single beds put next to eachother with a mattress ontop and if you sleep in the middle they slide apart, very annoying...

Make sure you ask for a room in the new part of the building. the old section does not have AC and the rooms get very hot in the summer.
There is no tea or coffee maker in the standard rooms. the breakfast had a great selection, but the layout fo the breakfast buffet was not very well done som people were bumping into each other at 8:30 when the room was full.

A very central location - we could walk everywhere. Very comfortable beds and quiet room. Helpful and friendly staff. The swimming pool was too cold for us.An excellent breakfast with great coffee.

The check-in desk takes a little time, but the staff is helpful and kind. The rooms have plenty of room, but the bathroom does not have a clear shelf to put your incidentals. There is a good size desk to write notes on and plenty of plugs to charge phones and laptops.It is sensibly located half way between the National Cathedral and the Turku Castle, both of which are about 1 km away.

The breakfast was excellent, the room was spotless, I did not spend much time in the hotel due to visiting my son. But whenever I approached staff they were very friendly and helpful. So close to the centre and bus stop right outside.

This place could use a bulldozer. So dated and ugly I am amazed that Scandic is ok with keeping it in their repertoire. Also was given the wrong room type at check in and on the second night I was freezing. In the morning when I opened the curtains I saw that the cleaner had left the window open. In the middle of Finnish winter! Who does that! Room cleaning was questionable anyway. The bed had two single sheets on it going left to right. What is this, a sleepover at high school? Breakfast was not up to the usual Scandic standard. The omelette could be classified as soup. Oh and wifi was slow. For the price this place charges, I would not bother.

Overall experience was good.
However, parts of their service leave a lot to be desired. I had forgotten my toilet bag in my room. When I called to inquire about it, they had found it but told me they don't send forgotten items to their guests. Instead, they are transferred to an external lost&found service company.
As a consequence, I had to wait for lost&found company to pick up my toilet bag and after that arrange with them to have it sent to me in Helsinki. This is very poor service. The hotel should have sent the toilet bag directly to me, especially since I'm a rather frequent guest there (10-12 night per year the past few years).

The air conditioning did not work so we asked for a fan,I was told that only the superior rooms had fans but finally managed to get a fan but had to use a toothpick to keep the button down to get it to work,paid for a/c that did not work.Could only get luke warm water out of the shower
