Room was nice and we enjoyed the brunch in the mornings. The front desk staff was less than helpful and extremely rude overall. I was here with my wife, and the staff talked down to us until they realized we were staying in a premium room. In addition, they insisted on writing out my credit card info on a piece of paper that they keep at the front desk in case of any charges at the hotel bar. This is an extremely insecure process as anyone in the hotel could find this information in their open boxes on the wall. We stayed here in part because of the pools, but the water was so cold we couldn’t get in.

Four senior women travelling together. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights here. Charming is the exact word for this hotel. Beautiful decor inside and out. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean and quite spacious. The complimentary bottle of wine was much appreciated! Breakfast was beyond our expectations and we were given a packed lunch to take with us on our journey after checking out early in the morning. Highly recommend this lovely hotel!

Large clean and comfortable room. We were in a separate building a short distance away from the lobby and breakfast area. Nice small pool and patio was dedicated to our building. Very quiet which we loved. Decent breakfast with lots of choices. Good location, walkable to town without the traffic hassle.

This was a very nice boutique hotel. Location was very nice. Parking was on the street, first come first served. Breakfast was awesome. Room was clean. Comfy and a good size with balcony. We would definitely stay again

Our stay was amazing. When we arrived they said there was am issue with our room so we got upgraded from a room to a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen and patio. It was a 5 minute walk from the main property for breakfast, but nothing to complain about. Our property also had a pool, it wasn’t as big as the main one, but I found it was more private. The breakfast is the absolute highlight of this place. Everything is clean and the staff are all very kind. No complaints.

Hotel is charming older inn style but in amazing condition. Staff are very helpful and friendly. All speak English well. Breakfast is amazing. Nice pool with comfortable deck lounge chairs. Beach towels are provided. Short walk to downtown where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Beach is about a 10 minute walk. Lots of stairs to get down to the beach though. Warning; while Portugal is a beautiful country, it’s very hilly and so you need to have good mobility and able to climb lots of hills and stairs.

From entrance (small door) does not look promising but when you enter in the property, all is nice, well maintained, details everywhere and very clean. I loved breakfast and rooms size, good choice to stay at Lagos

We originally booked a city view room but the one we were given was on the main road and we were warned about the 3am dustbin collections and were even supplied with earplugs! Luckily they were more than accommodating when we asked about changing rooms. The new pool view room was like a breath of fresh air compared to the first. Breakfast was amazing and had so many options it was difficult to choose so just have some of everything :-)
Although the pool area was quite small we always managed to get a sunbed. The water is not heated but is still warmer than the sea!
Finally, a big thank you to the girls on reception for rescuing our holiday and looking after us.

We were in 6 cities during our trip and this was hands down our favourite hotel. It was so quaint but still updated and renovated. The balconies were beautiful and each had their own clothing rack to dry bathing suits and clothes. The pool was perfection. I would for sure stay again!

A lovely, charming hotel with a lot of character in the heart of Lagos.
An easy 15 minute walk mostly downhill to the beautiful Praia Dona Ana and a 15 minute walk to the Old Town.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Our room featured Portuguese tiles and had a cute balcony.
We were also given a lovely bottle of local wine.
The breakfast buffet was excellent and there was freshly squeezed orange juice.
Gorgeous, quiet pool with comfy chaise lounges - and it looks better in person than in the photos.
We found free parking on the street.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

I really like this site. It looks like a villa with different building and a ton of vegetal. They have 2 pools, and a good breafast included. You feel secure by having access to the site by using a code to unlock doors. The bar is open late. The service is good, and they go with you to show your room, etc. I will return definitively.

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return. We had a second level room overlooking the pool and it was large and very comfortable. The pool and lounge chairs are fabulous, as was breakfast. Very quiet and good location.

A very beautiful hotel. Easily walkable into old Lagos, or along the cliffs.
The hotel is stunning, very nicely presented in an old Portuguese style. Beautiful pool area and great rooftop terrace. Staff are all lovely. Breakfast is incredible, probably the best we've ever had anywhere. Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with large balcony. Great shower, good wifi, comfy beds. We would definitely return. Highly recommended.

Staff were exemplary. Always quick to accommodate various needs and requests like ice, corkscrew, lost keys, luggage storage. They actually have a free 1/2 hour Turkish bath private session! Garden/pool is gorgeous. Breakfast was the best out of several Portuguese hotels visited on an 18 day trip. Highly recommend!

Very nice service from the staff, amazing breakfast and comfortable beds. Parking can be hard to find as there isn't a dedicated lot for this hotel and some noise transferred through the rooms. Wifi was spotty. Overall a good stay.

We spent two nights at the Charming Residence & Guest House Dom Manuel I Hotel in Lagos, Portugal. It is a beautiful hotel within walking distance of the old central city. The hotel grounds are gorgeous with a beautiful setting for the pool. The breakfast was outstanding with multiple options. The real measure of a hotel is the staff, and we immediately found everyone to be very friendly and helpful. An example of this is when, after leaving, I realized that I had left my eyeglasses in the room. We were now in Spain and called back to see if anything could be done . The staff located my glasses and took the extra time to mail them to an another hotel that we had scheduled in our travels. Everything worked out well thanks to the staff at Charming Residence & Guest House Dom Manuel I. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Such a wonderful hotel. So clean and comfortable. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was of an extremely high standard with fresh artisan produce and incredible choice. The beach is a short walk away and the hotel provides beach towels. A lovely little pool fringed with plants and various loungers is also a welcome. Lagos old town also a short walk away. We do plan to return again very soon. Thank you.
