The Shaker Mill Inn is a clean, cozy place to lodge in the Berkshires. We enjoyed the short walk to a unique bookstore and cafe.

We felt like the place was all our own. From the en suite breakfast to our private deck, we felt right at home immediately and had a lovely weekend stay. The surrounding mountains and quaint New England mill town were off-the-charts charming. Our inn keepers were just a phone call away when we had a request. Everything was immaculately clean and extremely well maintained (I'm a handyman at heart). I can't wait for you to stay here- it's minutes away from Stockbridge, Lennox, Great Barrington and even a nice drive to Greylock and beyond. Such a beautiful part of Massachusetts. Be sure to stay here!

Perfect little country inn tucked in the Berkshires, convenient to the highway but off the beaten path on a quiet rural road. Our first floor suite was spacious, inviting, comfortable, and clearly designed with care. Would definitely return next time we’re in the area.

This is a lovely place to say. Very warm and welcoming. The staff was very helpful and even brought a little doggy basket for my dog. It included a blanket, dog bowls treats and more!! Had a very very nice time.

Went away for the weekend to celebrate my daughter’s 30th birthday. This was a perfect spot to relax and not have the feel of a big hotel.

Lovely stay. The owner was very personable and helpful. The room had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. The inn is also close to Kripalu, the Norman Rockwell museum, and the botanical gardens. The area is absolutely beautiful to drive through and explore. We would definitely stay here again.

Definitely a personal touch for the room preparation's. Very clean. Not highly commercialized area perfect for relaxing and prayer.

I cannot believe that this Inn was listed as 2 stars! The owner's attention to detail and care to make sure that we had everything we needed (AND MORE!) was exemplary! There were directions in every place in the room and bathroom which indicated exactly how to operate everything. There was a binder that explained all of the details of both the property AND the surrounding area, (INCLUDING phone numbers and addresses). THe owner met us at the office and made us feel at home right away. I LOVED the historic area AND property. This was an old Milltown and the building was beautifully renovated! All of the upgrades for heating, air conditioning, appliances in the kitchenette, and bathroom accessories were a welcome site for a historic building! There was even a gas fireplace available in the main room! I highly recommend this Inn. We were extremely pleased with the service and amenities!

Shaker Mill is a wonderful B&B experience. Our therapy dog was greeted like a member of the family and was provided with his own basket of towels, treats and dishes. The Garden Room - where we stayed - had its own entrance, complete with private porch. Excellence from start to finish!

Absolutely charming room with many amenities. The host was kind and responsive. It was very quiet even though all the rooms were booked. I would go back in a heartbeat.

My expectations were exceeded. I look foward to another visit. I would make this my go-to place.

We have passed this location many times over the years on our way to visit family in Springfield. We decided to stay for a night following this visit and were rewarded by one of the nicest places we've stayed in a long time. The room was spacious and well equipped and the breakfast in our room was delightful. Overall a perfect stay and the amenities for our dog were an unexpected bonus. We will be back soon!

This is an extremely well run inn. We especially appreciated all the extra touches: kitchenette; breakfast placed in refrigerator the night before with microwave/toaster oven to warm it the next morning; bathrobes; safety handles on shower and gas fireplace for instant warmth (supplementing a good HVAC system). W. Stockbridge, though lesser known among south country communities, has some gems: fabulous bookstore, exceptional coffee house, sculpture garden, solid Italian restaurant less than a block form the inn and a general store with excellent sandwiches.

We enjoyed our stay at the Shaker Mill Inn. It was close to a lot of the places we wanted to see. The owners did a lot of maintenance to make sure things were supplied and public outdoor areas were clear. In the town, there was a nice little market, as well as a small bookstore with a nice 40% off table.

The property is beautiful. The inside is more like a hotel than B& B. John was very friendly and helpful. The price I paid is not what was invoiced. I believe I am owed approximately $100. The price on my credit card was $662.69. The price on my paid invoice was $578.00. What shall I do?

excellent amenities all around

We stopped in West Stockbridge for one night. Our accommodations were lovely. It was a Tuesday. We went downtown Stockbridge, then south, back to Stockbridge, then west. We were looking for an evening meal. Our first stop was a little restaurant downtown which is closed one night a week: Tuesday. Red Lion had an elegant looking dining room, but they were completely booked. Most every place was closed. The we found an Asian eatery in Great Barrington. Fine inexpensive meal. It made our evening.

Great stay. I have nothing but compliments for this inn. If you are traveling with a dog rest assured both you and the dog will feel welcome. Plenty of room to spread out in the room. Thanks John and Patti for a very relaxing two days.

Wonderful stay at the Shaker Mill Inn. Super quiet and peaceful location. It’s also perfect if you have a dog. I didn’t have any issues with anything and will absolutely stay again. The grounds are beautiful as well. Will highly recommend. A

We had the catamount room. It was spacious, clean, and quiet. A very nice selection of pastries for the continental breakfast. The owner greeted us and was very friendly. The room had local artwork for sale, and a number of other little themed items, e.g., mugs for sale also. It was very convenient to Tanglewood where we had come for a show and we will definitely be back.

Shake Mill Inn is truly rare find. Very comfortable the owners go way beyond what was expected. My only regret was that I was unable to stay longer. We are defiantly planning a return trip soon.
