Rustic, great location. A couple more outlets or a multiplug would have been nice, did not have enough to charge devices and run the fan.

Stayed in August so I suppose an A/C would have been nice.. they did provide a box fan. Quiet although there were earplugs on the night stand.😅 A nice homey rustic vibe. VERY CLEAN! Micro, fridge, upgraded bathroom. Loved it!

Excellently managed by Terry and her better half, this lodge is a hidden gem. The rooms are reasonably priced and are are renovated just about 18 months back. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and our overall stay was great!!! Thank you so much, Terry!!!

Such a cool room! Check in and out was super convenient, the staff sent the instructions ahead of time. So when we arrived around midnight, there was no issue and the staff didn't have to wait up for us. We wish we had more time in this place, it was pretty cool! Beautiful scenery all around, too.

This place was a pleasant surprise. I was looking for some place between the Great Sands National Park and Mesa Verde, but didn't want to drive in the dark to Durango. I decided to take a chance with Spruce Lodge. Glad I did. The owners are very pleasant. While the buildings were built years ago, the bathroom has been very nicely remodeled. The motel is adjacent (set back) to the highway. I was worried about the traffic, but the noise was less intrusive than being in a city. Plus, ear plugs were provided although we didn't use them. We did use the coffee machine and ate the snacks.

Terri was the best. She was very friendly and helpful.

Older Hotel (Lodge) Stayed one night and it was reasonable for the area compared to other properties. It was quiet on the room facing the mountains

Clean & accommodating. Total mess with tv remote(dead battery, no instructions for complicated tv). call for help was answered. Good rate & comfortable.

The room was clean and cozy, the small touches like the coffee, snacks and water was great! The location was easy to get to and parking was ample.

Beautiful, quiet spot in the mountains. Staff were absolutely wonderful and kind, and it was the best night sleep I've had on this long cross country trip so far.

the Spruce lodge has a nice location right on hwy.196; the local owners work hard to keep the place clean, and have obviously recently re-furbished the floors, linens, with a nice Keurig coffee maker, etc. We stayed 4 days which got to be a chore as the rooms are small with no storage (closets or bureaus with drawers), which means you are living out of your suitcase. The bathrooms are very small, a large man will have a hard time using the shower. OK for an overnight stay, but not longer.

Stayed one night after a long drive and I have to say it was perfect. It’s clean, quiet, modern and convenient. You also get some snacks and a water bottle which is really appreciated especially when there isn’t supermarkets around. Loved it!

We arrived earlier than planned and the staff accommodated us without an issue.

No air conditioner,bed was broken bathroom too small and have bad smell.
