Great room, nice hotel building and great location for the ferry but bathroom was filthy with the shower area, around the floor and near the toilet looking like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Some sort of proudly-displayed "Green is the new clean!" but I'd strongly suggest going back to old-fashioned cleaning instead of letting nature take its course in a hotel bathroom. You could literally see the splash-pattern of previous guest's urine on the glass wall of the shower (see photo).
The room was large, bed was comfortable and the hotel is pet-friendly but I wouldn't use that bathroom if they paid me to stay there.

We were a family of 4. Had 4 beds and the room was very big with sofa, desk and TV. The breakfast was very good, with eggs, bacon, meat balls, bread, cake, yoghurt, fruit, cheese and so on. You can walk to center of Kiel. Free parking on the street in front of the hotel.

Paper thin walls and some staff could not communicate in any other language than German. The area is not great with a fair amount of unsavory activity in the area and at the hotel.

We had a nice stay at Hotel Kiel. The room was very clean and comfortable, but a little worn. We were disappointed that there was no fitness room as advertised.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really nice.

internet was slow. the system throttled me and I was unable to use my computer at all due to it taking almost 3 days to complete downloading a small update.
asked for a king size bed. got 2 single beds pushed up together. had to bring it up to the staff at the front desk in order to fix the disparity in what I was being charged vs what I had. mattresses were standard springs even though I was supposed to be in a "comfort" room (protip, the bed wasn't comfortable)

Breakfast staff were not helpful at all, couldn’t find anyone around to ask where things are, they were in the kitchen chatting.

Though staff was friendly and helpful, there were issues with credit card paymets at end of the stay to.cover parking, meals and other incidentals. They pretend that they are not able to process American Express and try to push for other cards.

But the was sooooo much noise!!
From the traffic, the reception, the lift and the stairs.
We asked, if we could get some earplugs, but the staff couldn’t help.

Nice hotel about 15 minutes walk to the city centre. Close to a lovely park where you can relax.

This hotel is conveniently located near the train station and ferry port, just a short walk away from both. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming and helped to ensure we as a family were comfortable. Our room was spacious, clean and modern and we all enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep. We stayed over Easter, so the hotel restaurant was closed, but 400 metres down the road was a great Indian restaurant, again a credit to the hotels location. Overall, we were very happy with our visit and would surely stay again.

Big comfortable room, great friendly staff. Dinner and breakfast was really good but not that many options. Only real downside was the thin walls, was easy to hear what people in the hallway where talking about and cars outside where somewhat loud.

I am sorry but this is not 4* hotel, maybe it was 10 year ago but not now.

The room was a very good size however the beds were very soft. During a 7 night stay the bed linen was not changed at all.

I stayed here with my two young daughters and was very impressed with the suite we were given. It was a massive room with lounge, big bathroom and separate huge bedroom. So much space the girls played an extensive game of 'hide and seek' and could run around freely. The walk to the shops was easy with it being on the same road. The breakfast choice was impressive and tasted great. The only downside was the reception staff could be a bit more friendly. This did not have an impact on the overall stay though, we would definitely return.

Efficient, clean and quiet, just what i needed after an 11 hour drive arriving at midnight. Good parking right outside the hotel Good breakfast and helpful and pleasant staff. Will stay there again on my way through Kiel

Best Western in Kiel is comfortable and the spacious. Excellent breakfasts - cereal, fruit, "fry-up", smoked salmon, cold meats and eggs, toast, coffee . . . evening meals are good value, though not exceptional; [all of] your bathroom is also your shower . . . which took some getting used to!

This hotel is not far from the city center - we walked there every night for dinner. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I liked the fact that parking was free. The wifi internet connection does not work from the room - you have to go down to the reception to use it.
