The staff was extremely rude and never on the same page as the other staff. Poor communication and poorly trained.Unprofessionalism was unacceptable. No fresh towels or garbage taken.

We had a very mixed experience with this hotel. It was the worst check-in experience we’ve ever had. Check in is supposed to be 3pm, we arrived about 5:30pm and they didn’t have a clean room for us yet. We came back at 7:30pm and they found us a room finally. Or so we thought. We booked a 1 bedroom suite with a separate bedroom and when we walked into the room I noticed it was only a cheaper single studio room. So we had to haul all of our luggage back down to the front desk and tell them they gave us the wrong room. The employee tried to say that’s what I booked and that’s all they have, which was not true. Eventually someone else showed up and said she’s still cleaning some rooms!? This is about 5 hours past the check-in time they advertise. She said there was one of the suites available. They were going to give it to the person behind us that was waiting because he also got the wrong room and was waiting for a clean suite. They finally got us in a room. It was a handicapped accessible room which was fine except the shower was very short and made for someone in a wheelchair. The room itself was very clean and comfortable and well stocked. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable enough but the couch fold out bed in the living room for our adult son was terrible. He said he could feel the bars of the frame through the thin mattress. The check-in process I give one star and the room I give 4 stars. Not being able to get the room I paid for until almost 8 pm is ridiculous.

The staff was great. I was disappointed to find my room still dirty. I found toothpaste in the sink, counters in bathroom were still dirty and the floor next to the bed was dirty.

The property seems great, so far, near enough to restaurants. They do not offer continental breakfast.

Got to the hotel and no room available They sent me to a different hotel which I did appreciate but I wanted the kitchenette which the other hotel didn’t have

I booked a 1 bedroom queen suite in May well before our visit inAugust. Arrived at 10 PM on 08/02/24 to a rude and unhelpful front desk staff, Tyler. We were in Bismarck for the dog show. He informed me the pet fee was $50 even though the booking listing on Orbitz said $25 per stay. I picked up the key and when I opened the room it was 2 beds but with no separate bedroom, no living room, no kitchen, no refrigerator, and no sleeper sofa. I specifically booked a one bedroom suite with kitchen! When approached again at desk to inform Tyler of the mistake I was told that no 1 bedroom suite was available and no refund. Tyler said all rooms are same price as well, so no adjustment in my nightly rate for the smaller room lacking amenities which I had I booked! The hotel was quite dingy and dirty and dank! The room was musty and foul smelling. My party of two adults one dog ended up leaving the horrible place at nearly midnight, good riddance to the unfriendly staff. Tyler billed me for the 2 nights $422.80 plus pet fee of $53 even as I explained I required a room with living room and kitchen. We ended up leaving after he grudgingly cancelled the reservation and we were left without a place to stay. We did eventually find, about two hours later, a place to stay. Needless to say our dog show with ring time at 8AM the next morning was a disaster and the Bismarck weekend too. Recommend avoiding this hotel and would give it a zero in customer service, cleanliness and politeness.

One room flooded from the floor above and smelled moldy. The other room smelled like dog pee. The front desk asked if we wanted a room freshener.

Everything was great, we were having a heat wave so it was nice to stay in a room with a/c. Although a few days after getting home we say that we were charged an extra $20. Our room was not trashed when we left, I made sure there was no garbage on the floor anywhere. I will be calling to find out.

The shower was handicapped which was ok, but every time we used the shower the bathroom floor flooded. Plus it was advertised that they had an iron and ironing board, but did not have the ironing board. Upon checking out I told the employee about my bad experience and he only said sorry; didn’t offer to to reduce my bill or anything. I was very disappointed! I will never stay at that hotel again. I travel a lot to Bismarck and will never go to that hotel again.

On the Expedia website it said our room had 2 king sized beds. That is the reason we chose this hotel. However, when we got to the hotel, we were told the hotel doesn’t even have rooms with 2 king sized beds. Also, I didn’t realize there were still hotels that didn’t offer some sort of breakfast.

Candlewood Suites is my go to when in Bismarck. The staff was very inviting and friendly. Looking forward to my next stay at Candlewood Bismarck.

Our room wasn't very clean and there was dog urine smell in halls and in our room, would not stay there again.

Room was clean. Bed/pillows were comfortable. Poor water pressure for a shower.

Solid hotel great while travelling through

No towels, no soap, king bed when I reserved a 2-queen bed room, wasn’t even vacuumed. Really poor place. The attendant did his best, but I would stay away from the edition of Candlewood Suites.

Room wasn’t ready when I tried to check in at 5pm, she said it wouldn’t be ready for “a while”. Lobby had an overwhelming smell of chlorine. There didn’t seem to be anyone there except us and the people RIGHT NEXT DOOR, who were ridiculously loud. I don’t recommend staying here and I would not stay again.

Nice hotel - looks like it is going down - soon as I checked in let me know there is no breakfast / no ice/ but you can purchase items at there marketplace. Not impressed

Friendly staff and nice rooms to relax in!

Bath tub plug would not hold water. Toilet was loose and moved when getting up from it and refrigerator was extremely noisy and had to be shut off. Heat system also very noisy when running

The property was dirtier then I had hoped for and it was pet friendly which I did not know so there was lots of dogs walking around. Which I also think is what made the property look bad.
