As a Heritage hotel it was fairly unique but it was not kept as it should have been. Housekeeping was appalling, bathroom was not cleaned properly, towels were more grey than white. Breakfast was very slow, 7am apparently, but nothing was ready, cooked food still not available by 7.30 at times. Not much to choose from either and staff were quite slow. Food was okay, nothing exciting. We would not stay here again if we found ourselves back in Ahmedabad, Gujerat.

Absolutely beautiful heritage property that provided us with a very unique experience. Beautifully and aesthetically decorated rooms, excellent service and delicious food. Very conveniently located in the heart of old city. Highly recommend this if you are looking to experience the traditional charm clubbed with modern luxuries.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful heritage property which had the old world charm intact and provided new world luxuries! It was very clean and staff was extremely courteous. The grand suite was big and beautiful, esthetically decorated and was very comfortable Daily breakfast was delicious and restaurants also had great food! Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a unique experience.

Beautiful heritage property feels like home very cozy rooms. Staff is super friendly and caring. They were extremely helpful in organizing and giving tips for our itenary during our stay. The pool is simply gorgeous. The thali experience was very memorable and quality of food was great. Made you feel like royalty dining. I will not have second thoughts of staying at this hotel again. Has to be experienced!!

Lovely stay. Beautiful hotel, lovely decor , large rooms with all amenities. Helpful staff. Breakfast was the same everyday. Not much variety, but good. Agassi’s Resturant was good. Nothing outstanding.

I highly recommend House of MG. Warm and welcoming staff and the whole experience is unique and memorable. We were made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. Amazing rooms that are classy, clean and comfortable. Location is very central and easy to reach most parts of the city from. I will certainly return.

Absolutely magical stay for our large family group. The staff were just amazing - friendly, efficient and helpful; rooms and decor beautiful and character filled. We all enjoyed the sparkling clean , cool and delightful lotus pool. The food is also really really good . As a guju the traditional Gujarati food was like home cooked food but better. Couldn’t recommend more highly and can’t wait to return one day

I dont understand why this is not rated higher stars than what it is. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels when visiting India from the UK. This is by far the best hotel i have stayed at. The aesthetics, service, room and especially the attention of staff are priceless. It felt like being at home. Will always stay here when visiting Ahmedabad

This was my second visit to the House of MG. Such a wonderful hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The food was excellent (service at the Green Room was a bit slow). The hotel was able to help with transportation. The tours were good. I hope to be back.

My room was lovely and comfortable, and the swimming pool, with its ceiling decorated with lotus murals, is unbelievable - maybe the prettiest pool Ive ever swam in. Go to Ahmedabad and stay here - you will love it.

Everything about this place is just amazing. Its a must try if you sre in ahmedabad. Gorgeously built and very very very well maintained.

Amazing food but very poor service, particularly from front desk staff. Unable to manage or stick to an agreement, rude and aggressive when trying to sort out a situation of their creation - while blaming me and telling me it was my fault.

Pleasant stay but hotel staff need to adopt service mindset. When guest call for service, response is slow. For check-out, I carried my luggage plus 3 hand carry bags down to reception because no one responded. On my way down to reception, other hotel staff saw my predicament but didn’t bother to extend help simply because it was not their duty. The hotel is not just in heritage but also in hospitality industry but there is not even a bellhop in sight to help. Had a very unpleasant experience in my checking out.

A really great, well-renovated historic property. The public spaces, restaurants and shops are absolutely beautiful. The location in the middle of the old city is excellent. My room was enormous and well appointed, but had not outside windows. Perhaps the front desk and housekeeping staff need a bit more training. I arrived after 3:00 pm to be told my room was not ready, even though check-in time was 3:00 pm. I was asked to wait "5 minutes", and when I inquired again in 20 minutes was AGAIN asked to wait 5 minutes. On the first day I when out for four hours to return to an unmade up bed. The desk said someone would be sent, but no-one arrived. Otherwise, service was friendly and efficient. The hotel could use a good walking make of the old city.

Real Indian style and taste. You hardly find this anywhere else.

A beautiful heritage property in the heart of the city. We were initially given a room facing the street, which is very busy and very noisy. We requested one away from the street and were given room 23 downstairs. The room had twin beds, a large desk, a small divan, minibar and safe. The en-suite bathroom was very good-sized. Towels were wonderfully thick and soft and robes were provided. Nice toiletries provided and there was no issue with having plenty of hot water for bathing (shower only in this room). Wifi worked very well throughout the hotel. There is a lovely indoor pool, but the water was way too cold to consider a dip. There is a lovely garden on the upper level at the back and a rooftop terrace with a nice view of the setting sun. The breakfast in the attached garden restaurant was vegetarian, but a nice variety with eggs made to order. We did not try the upstairs restaurant, but did look at the menu and the prices seemed very high compared with other local restaurants. There is a beautiful mosque just across the street with amazing carving work. There is also a fun cafe also across the street with loads of character--tree growing through the roof and graves inside the cafe. The local area is walkable if you are a brave soul. Traffic is as traffic is in India. We found the city not too dirty by Indian standards. If inclined to do so, you could walk to the main market and even the mosque in about 15 minutes. A guaranteed good time awaits you here.

Beautiful one of a kind historic boutique hotel. Huge room (#127) with a separate sitting area and large functional bathroom. Friendly staff. Must experience at least once. Folks I met in Ahmedabad raved about the Gujarati Thali at the restaurant called Aghasheye though I did not have a chance to eat there.
