We had a great one night stay to visit the ruins. Parking is very limited so check with them first. Breakfast was very simple. Was a great in town location with many restaurants within walking distance.

The location was convenient to see the ruins and accessible to the train station (quite literally down the street). The service was very good and having the breakfast buffet option was nice. A downside is that the shower is very small. Overall, a very nice stay.

It was amazing close to all the places that we went.

The room did not have a window just a slit at the top of the wall just big enough to let light in and wake you up very early. So disappointed with that as it was a bit cell like. The bathroom was a good size and clean. The decor in our room was tired.Nice helpful owners though, very friendly and a plus they will store your bags. Just check the room you are getting when you book to avoid disappointment

New managers of this hotel since April 2017 Nadia and Catello are working very hard upgrading the decor. Their friendliness and helpfulness is second to none. Trips and transfers can be arranged easily.
This hotel is in a very convenient position in Pompeii for the excavations and also to travelling to Naples or along the Amalfi coast.
We would definitely recommend this lovely gem of a hotel and shall return ourselves.

Pasquale was absolutely the best! Very informative, helpful and makes a great cappuccino and Nutella croissant! Hotel itself is on the older side but it is a great location, clean, and safe.

We stayed in Pompei for only one night to see the ruins. The hotel had a bed and seemed safe and was overall fine, but the television didn't work, the shower took long to get hot and then wouldn't stay warm for long (I didn't have time to wait in the morning for a warm shower so skipped one altogether :( ) and the A/C was broken; it kept us up with loud noises all night and ended up pumping in warm air from outside. The staff was friendly but the hotel was mediocre. Breakfast was a pastry and coffee- sufficient but nothing special. If I were to return I would probably book a hotel just a little closer to the ruins, although this one was only about a 10-15 minute walk. Keeping in mind the price of the hotel, I'm not upset, but was just a little disappointed.

Quiet location. There is a lot of potential in the rooms however there were a few dissapointing things that make you feel the owners did not care about the guest. The shower was broken, so you have to handle the shower with one hand, breakfast is extremely poor you actually feel like you are not even welcome to have it, dumps on the room roof and dirty cover on the bed.
Is it possible to sleep?, sure, just don't have high expectations.

Seconds from the train station, with shops and other services on the doorstep and only a short stroll away from the most incredible experience of walking back in time, Alberto Pace is well situated. A visible, friendly and most helpful host gives it a more personal and welcoming feel. It was a little tired around the edges and pricey relative to similar establishments on our trip so far but it is clean and served as a good base for our short stay. Pleasant but not plush.

Left as soon as I could. Much better establishments for an additional 10 euros.

This hotel is clean, comfortable, and seems much better than a one-star hotel. The room was large, had a/c, and was well maintained. The location is excellent- just a few blocks from the entrance to the ruins. The hotel staff was amazingly friendly and helpful- Massimo in particular was such an kind and solicitous host. I definitely recommend!

In a very convenient location, close to shops and cafe. We enjoyed our stay @ Albergo Place, beside visiting Pompeii's site, it is alos fairly close tot he amalfi Coast.

Good room, beds, bathroom, protected from street noise, near train station, and near ruins and inexpensive. Top rating from me.

Albergo Pace was close to the main streets, yet because it was in a courtyard setting, it lived up to its name of peaceful. It was nice to have grass and a garden setting after seeing so much cement in the cities. The staff was very helpful with giving directions on how to get around town and also in reserving an on-street parking spot for us before we arrived. (No charge for parking was a plus!) We traveled with our daughter, and she enjoyed her own space in the living room area of our unit. The breakfast was standard fare for an Italian B & B, but very adequate and offered in a nice breakfast room. We also enjoyed a short session on the Internet, offered in the breakfast room. Close by, an ATM was just down the block, a bakery with delicious breads was on the same street, and we ate at the nearby restaurant recommended by the Pace staff where we enjoyed pizza, pasta, and the atmosphere. As advertised, it was about a 10 minute walk to the east entrance to ancient Pompei from the Pace. Our only disappointment was that the floor of the room had many ants. And because we were driving, we had to figure out how to get around on the one-way streets to get to the Pace address.

Albergo Pace is basic but was clean and represented good value for money in what I was looking for in a one night stay. It is easy walking distance to Pompei and the staff were friendly and helpful.
5.0 / 10.0
I stayed at Albergo Pace for three nights and it was definitely more than I expected for a one-star hotel. The room was small (as is typical of single rooms in Italian budget hotels) but clean and brightly painted, with a modern bathroom and a writing desk. The wireless service was spotty but workable, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was the typical bread, jam, yogurt, and coffee or tea served in a nice little basement room. The terrace was nice for reading, eating a snack, or admiring one of the ubiquitous summer fireworks shows in the area.
The hotel is located near the basilica and the main square of the city, so cafes and restaurants are plentiful; it is beautiful at night and the square is packed with locals. The area seemed safe, which is important to me as a solo female traveler. It is a 20- to 30-minute walk past numerous souvenir stands to the main entrance of the ruins of Pompeii, but there is a side entrance to the site that is much closer and much less busy. The hotel is also convenient to the state railway station. Overall, the Albergo Pace was a great value and I would definitely stay there again.

This tiny hotel, tucked away behind shops and restaurants, is very handy for the railway stations of both the Circumvesuviana and the Ferrovia lines. For travellers visiting Pompeii under their own steam, this is a big advantage. It is not far from the nearest entrance to the Pompeii Excavations either. There is a real family feel because the hotel has only 7 rooms, and you will see the same people on reception when you come in and out. The receptionist recommended and excellent pizza restaurant about 5 minutes walk from the hotel, and the pizza was truly delicious - cooked in a real pizza oven - and very cheap. The actual hotel was just as it looks in the photographs on the hotel website (not always the case....). We would go back again if we are ever in Pompeii. We got a good deal on the price of the room by booking through Expedia too, though we had to remind the receptionist, who wanted to charge the rate advertised in the room at first. She quickly changed her tune when I showed her my Expedia paperwork.
