Great hotel along the GAP-CO trail. Very bike friendly. Will definitely stay again on my next trip through town

The staff was very friendly. We were in Maryland for the polar express train ride and the hotel had little gift bags for the kids upon checking in which were really nice. The room was clean, our heater had a squeaky noise everytime it kicked on, which was annoying but didn’t affect function in anyway. Within walking distance to the train station which we loved the most. The pool area was very nice and clean as well.

One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary breakfast, which offered a myriad of options, including oatmeal, bread, eggs, meat proteins, yogurt and fruits. There were also carry-out options like mixed nuts and candied fruits, which was convenient. However, I found the walnuts to be less than satisfactory in terms of taste.
Overall, I would recommend Fairfield Inn for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and complimentary breakfast and parking.

This Fairfield Inn is superb for the cyclist travelling the GAP Trail and/or C&O Canal Trail. The hotel is literally right next to the trail, has a bike fix station outside, has a hose to wash a dirty bike, has two washer/dryers available, and has some bike parking in the hotel (or you can put bike in your room). Great staff. I felt very welcome at this particular hotel.

Loved the location to the Western Scenic Railroad, walking path for C&O Canal, walking distance to some shops, etc.. Unfortunately, downtown Cumberland had construction on a lot of the roads and most shops were closed. Will consider coming back during spring or fall season after construction is done. It was also extremely cold when we were there so during the spring and summer would be more enjoyable to wonder outside to see everything.

Excellent hotel in Cumberland. Spacious, clean rooms, temperature controls that work well, and a super helpful staff. (Shout out to Richard, at the front desk, for great restaurant recommendations.) Within walking distance of lots of very good places to eat, including the unexpected terrific Uncle Jack's--a great, friendly neighborhood bar!
