One of the worst neighborhoods. Dirty streets with nasty homeless and drug addicted animals around. Irresponsible hotel staff. Strongly not recommend unless you are willing to risk everything for nothing.

Downtown Oakland is a very dynamic place—which is why I love it so much. The Ramada feels like a home away from home, a safe and quiet nook in which to live when I'm visiting.

Very centrally located with easy access to the subway, and within easy walking distance of a lot of local attractions. Staff were professional and the room was cleaned daily. Room was very small, but as a single traveler it was perfectly suitable for my needs. Elevator was a bit outdated. Overall this is a good option for a cheap hotel and I would recommend it overall.

Stay here if you don't care about your car getting stolen! My car was stolen on the first night. No security. No cameras. They do not even bother to lock the gate at night. The rooms are humid and the bed sheets have a weird odor. Stay off the coffee given in your room because the coffeemaker has dirt.

I stayed here trying to give the place the benefit of the doubt. I was WRONG. My bed was hard as a rock. Literally paid to basically sleep on a bed that felt like sleeping on the floor. When I told the front desk person he said no one else complained about their beds? This place also had an awful smell to it. Also not safe someone was at my door at 1 am???? Just there??? The next day I asked the guy if I could get a refund and he offered me another room half the size of my original room. When I was done talking to him. I overheard another girl say her infinity got stolen. My car had scratches from the lot they said to park at. I also got a ticket and when I complained about the bed and mentioned getting the ticket the person said it was my fault because I had typed in my license plate number wrong. After arguing back and forth he agreed to take care of the ticket but I was still charged through parking through them. They didn’t even send me the receipt/folio until I called to ask about. I didn’t get any of my deposit back; even though I had a horrible experience. So I DONT recommend staying here. Not safe, rude staff, rooms smell, and over priced. You’re better off at another hotel. First and last time I ever stay with this brand of hotel.

Property was advertising warm breakfast incleed. There was coffee and cold bagels. When inquired. The assistant stated the management knew about this but was falsely advertising it. There wasn't even a proper breakfast room or place. The place was noisy at night both inside and out.

The actual hotel itself was comfortable. Our room was a good size, the beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was very big and with plenty of hot water. The complimentary breakfast was good, lots of continental choices including eggs, bagels, wraps, yogurt, toast etc. The only let down is the area this hotel is in. It’s a bit run down, dirty and with some homeless people.

We had to move rooms 3 times. Only to end up in a room with a dirty bed and that was the BEST option we had. The pictures are not what you get AT ALL. The area itself I can understand, however the hotel is old and the front end staff is absolutely of no help. We had to change linens ourselves and we had to make 2 trips to get the right size sheets. I called customer service regarding this and they simply told me to deal with the hotel. My question is why where does your responsibility come in? I came here from the pictures on YOUR site. This is ridiculous.

The room was pretty small and I had to squeeze in between the bed and desk chair to get on the other side of the bed. It was just myself in the room, so that was ok. The bathroom was huge! It was clean and nice the shower water had good flow. The room was quiet, but the window only had a view of the other wall, so it was kind of claustrophobic. Overall it the stay was good for the price. I didn't see any riff raff or roaches, so it suited me well.

Ok for the value

Great easy check in! Got a room with a King sized bed and was put on the top floor. Wow, for the price the room was great. Spacious, clean and had a nice view of the city - was not expecting that. Was able to park my car in the lot, not attended but with other cars there it made me feel secure. Would definitely stay again if needing a place in Oakland.

Great place to stay. I would stay here again. Only a couple of blocks from BART. Are around is a little dirty, it’s Oakland though. Police presence is felt to help with the feeling of being safe.

Staff accommodating and helpful. Rooms are small but does the trick. Parking lot is unattended but I was approached by a man pretending to work for the hotel. He wanted to collect money and made a pass at me. Staff says they’re aware of him but haven’t been able to get him to leave.

It's comfy and cozy. Somehow they manage to cram all my favorite amenities—comfortable bed, plenty of electrical outlets, soft lighting, sturdy desk, chair that supported my back really well, etc.—into one small space. I'll definitely stay here again, and not just because it's in one of my favorite Oakland neighborhoods. My one quibble was that the hot water was lukewarm at best—but that's not a dealbreaker. I'm happy to call this place a home away from home!
