Nice relaxing stay

Just an Oasis of peace and quiet.

The property was impeccably cared for! Outstanding charm and neatly designed. I was pleasantly surprised at just how nice it was. I'm definitely booking a room here again!

Isolated, not much to do, bedroom super basic

This is a quaint property I selected due to its close proximity to the airport. Although the furnishings are dated, they are of good quality and well maintained and the property is very clean. The rooms have AC (not needed due to excellent cross ventilation with open louvered windows), TV, and comfortable beds. I was able to sit outside reading and relaxing, surrounded by beautiful landscaping. The pool is a good size. The small restaurant has well prepared food for breakfast (included in room cost) and dinner (additional). The staff, who are all courteous, directed me to the wildlife rescue center ( about 1/2 mile down the street) which was an excellent afternoon activity where I was able to observe and read about all of the wildlife in Costa Rica. I was comfortable, well fed and safe.

Beautiful grounds and well maintained. Room was quiet. Not that far from the airport but takes a while to get there because of the roads and traffic. They have a shuttle but they charge $26 US for a pickup from the airport. Uber was $10 US.

We started and ended our trip to Costa Rica at hotel La Rosa. Our rental car was dropped off to us there and picked back up there, and we used their airport shuttle service. It was so easy and convenient, and I appreciated not having to drive at the airport or in San Jose. The grounds are lovely, the staff are very nice and helpful and the meals are excellent. Will definitely return! Thanks for a wonderful and convenient stay!!

The hotel is a perfect jumping off point for our trip to Costa Rica! Our car was delivered to the hotel, which was beautiful. The breakfast was excellent and the grounds are lovely.

Very amicable staff, beautiful gardens, peaceful

We experienced very loud noise from the road next to the property at 6am, and we could hear every conversation happening outside our room. Small property with only a few amenities.

We had a one night stay after a late flight into San Jose. Staff met us at the airport and were very quick getting us transportation to La rose. Very friendly and super helpful. Breakfast was included and my family enjoyed it. We were travelling with four kids ages 7 to 13 and would stay here again.

Staff were lovely & accommodating. Had one of the best sleeps of my life!

Staff was not friendly they seemed bothered when we asked for anything extra during breakfast. And breakfast was repetitive everyday we stayed

The property is a unique Costa Rican style with private cabin style dwellings surrounded by breathtaking vegetation and flowers including palm trees, vines, and beautiful foliage. The breakfast and service is also great! Overall very clean, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at a cozy feeling place!

It was really easy to check in and check out

I would highly recommend staying here. Getting a shuttle to the airport was so easy. We had to leave the hotel at 2:30am, and the driver arrived at 2:15 and carried out all our bags. There isn't much around the hotel, but there is a restaurant on the premises. It was convienent and was authentic Costa Rican food. The rooms and grounds were well kept, clean, and beautiful. Most everyone spoke English, which was helpful. The hotel is gated off, which added a layer of security. There aren't many rooms, which was a positive selling point, in my opinion.

Overall around the property was clean, easy check in/out. Bathroom sink was leaking and shower water kept changing temperature between hot and cold while as i was taking a shower. I booked this property thinking they have free shuttle to the airport but it costs us $30 for a van.

Our flight was delayed so we didn’t get in until close to midnight. I called the hotel and they said no worries to ring at the gate at they would let us in. They had a nice security man who let us in and showed us to our room. Although we didn’t have a much time to enjoy the quaint and lovely hotel it was clean comfortable and beautiful place where we rested well after our 22 hour journey to Costa Rica. Breakfast was plentiful; free buffet style of traditional Costa Rican food, eggs, fruits rice and beans, cereal coffee and juice. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived past midnight at SJO. The hotel arranged a shuttle to meet us at the airport and it was only $30 for six of us. When we arrived at the hotel, a security guard was waiting for us with the key and a note with the WiFI password. I really felt the hotel took care of our late arrival. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. We stayed just one night and was very happy with the hotel’s service.

We unfortunately only had a very short time here, checked in around 10 because of flight delays and left around 630 the next morning for a jungle outing. Because of our limited time, we didn't get a chance to really enjoy the property, but we did take a quick dip in the pool and slept great. It is clean and beautiful and the check in check out was super easy. We missed their breakfast and our only disappointment was they wouldn't do a little brown bag breakfast for us. We were leaving for a rafting trip early and would have LOVED to take something with us to go. Otherwise, GREAT place in San Jose.

Had two rooms with a lot of ants in both tooms

The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are adequate and the staff were all very friendly! Also very convenient to the airport. The only issue we had was with another guest who let their dogs run all over the grounds. My daughter had a bad experience with a dog in the past and was scared of it. If pets are allowed I feel that their owners should be able to keep them under control or on a leash. Otherwise we had a nice stay.

Very well maintained, pretty and peaceful property, with beautifully painted roses on outside walls. Rooms were cute and had inviting (and again peaceful) porches on each. Nice staff too. We arrived in time for dinner at their small (but reasonably priced and decent tasting) restaurant. We wished we could have spent more time here, but had to leave early the next morning to catch our plane home.

It was OK for one night before driving to our final destination. Property itself was beautiful but the rooms are outdated/run down. Staff was very friendly and the food options were good.

Pros:hotel env is beautiful. room is clean and bed is comfortable. Cons: it has bad traffic from SJO to here. better to stay hotel near to SJO. wifi is low and disconnected from time to time. shower is leaking, water flow is low and sometimes no warm water.

Sweet little escape from the city. Very Comfortable and very kind staff. Our shower didn’t have hot water and it was taken care of immediately. Grateful to have stayed in such a sweet little place.

Property was in general well maintained and staff was helpful. It was quiet and relaxing. While not much negative, a few minor comments - Restaurant is supposed to be open from 2 PM to 8 PM, but seems to open a bit late and one day it did not open at all. Also, shower water pressure would sometime become low.
