The Alder Inn is very well located in South Lake Tahoe. Nice setting, very close to the beach and about a 30-minute walk to the stores and restaurants in Heavenly Village. Property seems a bit dated and it is a bit weird that there is no staff on-site. This did not hinder my stay however. The rooms could use a bit of an update, to bring them a bit more into 2024. But it was comfortable, rooms are spacious and it's very easy to get too.

I loved my stay here. They call you the day your stay starts to give you the code for your room. They respond quickly to texts for any issues you have. The top floor has AC units but the bottom doesn't. They do provide a fan, but it was still a little stuffy for me. The room was very clean but I did find some leftover toothpaste on the bottom of a clear cup. I texted the manager and he brought us new cups right away. The lamp in between the beds didn't work. There were some cosmetic issues (i.e. holes/markings/shower leaking) but nothing to cause alarm. I believe it's just an old building that they'll fix up throughout time. It really is a pleasant stay. The beds were very comfortable. Closest beach is less than a 10 minute walk with so many activities for the water (jet skis/boats/parasailing). We even walked to another beach in less than 30 minutes. Food options are less than a 10 minute walk as well as shopping. Plenty of parking. You can text them to ask for more towels or room service and they respond quickly and do an amazing job. The price for the room was very reasonable. I would definitely stay again.

check in was easy and room was clean. there was no A/C but a fan was provided. Its within walking distance down to the lake and restaurants which was nice. We also played a little cornhole while there. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Good location, easy self-parking, mini-fridge and microwave oven in the room, the only issue was that the temperature in the room was bit high during night time.

Sam and his wife are very helpful and responsive . I also like the keyless entry. We did our check in with our phone. I wish that they are more flexible on the check in time. We got there at three o’clock and had to wait in the parking lot

Great location and we enjoyed our stay well enough. There were looks of little things that should/could be addressed. Nothing huge but all together it was worth noting. Definitely felt like a safe area and was conveniently located.

The pool and hot tub were not operational. I wish properties wouldn't advertise a pool when they don't really have one. :( Other than that, this place was great. The staff was very friendly and always available, the room was very nice, and the ambiance outside was great. We played cornhole and used the outside tables for games. Walkable to coffee, restaurants, and the beach. I'll stay here again. I just won't bother packing my swimsuit.

Staff is great. Friendly, responsive and helpful. It’s an older property but well cared for. Lots of cute outdoor areas to sit and hang out. Walking distance to the lake, restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay again!

The property manager Sam, the location, and the price was the only good part of this hotel. It was dirty and run down, plus the door to the next neighbor’s room was paper thin so I could hear the entire conversation of my neighbors. The sheets had stains and the floors were filthy, and at one point dirty brown water came out of the sink and shower. Was not a fan, but Sam the manager was kind and responded quickly.

Very nice stay. The only issue I had was that the pillows were very thick and uncomfortable. The room was lovely, the shower was great and the staff responsive. I would stay again but bring my own pillow.

Very responsive staff, good location as it is 2 blocks from shopping (Whole foods, Panda Express, 5 Guys, etc.) . The unit is basic with primary and secondary heaters.

This hotel has a great location and a friendly staff. There is a clear theme of being "Thoughtful" of guests and effort to provide amenities. The check in process is physical keyless and no contact so make sure you confirm your reservation and payments in advance when possible. There is a 24/7 number to call if any issues, but I wouldn't expect many issues doing the prior. Enjoy your stay

Our experience overall was amazing at Alder inn. The room was clean, warm and very spacious. We loved that stores were walking distance and the drive to the slopes was less than 10 minutes. The parking was very easy also, we were able to park right in front of our room. The manager was by far the best part. He was so sweet and so quick to respond. We ended up getting upgraded to a king room, extending our stay and having late checkout all thanks to him. Definitely a 10/10 experience :)

Very cute and cozy place, specially for the price. Everything is modern and up to date, there's spring water on the tap and the heating is very good. Checking in is very easy since you don't need to do it in person and the doors don't require keys but use code locks. Sam, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly! I will definitely be coming back any time I'm visiting south lake and highly recoomend it

me and my boyfriend came here for two nights and loved our stay. we got a complementary upgrade to a king bed and received texts checking up and asking if we need anything. the staff was very kind and the heaters we could turn on and off kept us super warm. we were able to walk to a sushi restaurant and down to the water from our room our first night, would definitely stay here again!

Room is clean. Owner responds quickly. Free ski run shuttle stop to California lodge is just 50 meters left hand of inn. Fresh market and restaurants are all within walking distance. Very convenient location.
Transportation to hotel.Take airporter at airport to Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe, then take Safe Taxi or uber for 5 minutes driving to get there.
