Extremely friendly and accommodating staff! Conveniently located to the events we had planned and very tasty breakfast!

Great stay. Check in was great and the staff gave us great restaurant recommendations with discount cards. Pool area and gym were nice and clean. Lots of options at breakfast. Close to Starved Rock and Main Street area of town. Would stay again.

Room was a little outdated. Typically hotels have room lamps with USB connectors for charging your phone. This hotel did not. Aside from that we had a nice stay at this hotel. Breakfast was good. Both cold and hot food selections.

The staff was friendly and the room wwa comfortable. The reason for the lower rating? While there was a hot tub near the swimming pool, there was a paper sign covering the control that statet the jets were not operational and it appeared that sign had been there for awhile. For the price of the room, this was something we should have known before booking. While not the most expensive place in town we could have chosen it was considerably more expensive than several other hotels in the area where we have stayed previously (those unfortunately had no rooms available).

Overall we had a nice stay, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room had a weird odor, I am guessing possible from new carpet. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The pool is pretty small and was super warm. The hot tub was also out of service. Breakfast left a little to be desired, very institutionalized style food.

Property served its purpose - somewhere to safely lay our heads for the night. However; I can’t say it was worth what we paid. A/C in our room did not work properly. When brought to the front desk’s attention, I was told, “Thanks. Have a nice day.” Any sort of empathetic response would have been appropriate and appreciated.

All staff was welcoming, especially the woman who did breakfast. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Only complaint it that the shower needs to be descaled and appears dirty. We just slept, so it wasn't an issue for us.

Front desk staff was very accommodating for early check-in, despite the hotel being fully booked the night prior. The staff was in general very friendly with greeting front desk staff and breakfast preppers. The breakfast selection was very nice.

The hotel is close to the highway for ease of finding it. Lots of places to eat in the area. Our shower didn't have a lot of pressure but was definitely hot enough ( no temperature issues) Hot tub was down. It would have felt awesome after our days of hiking. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

I was in the area for the marathon and this hotel was extremely accommodating. They let me check out an hour late in order to shower before I had to leave and also had water and bananas set out for the runners in the morning. Great hospitality!

The front desk worker Friday 3/29 (I'm really sorry I didn't get her name) was especially kind and helpful! We very much appreciated all of her help and hard work on a busy holiday weekend!

This was a way overpriced hotel. Could not believe they charge $50 for a pet. Hotels.com states the fee is $50/week. I stayed one night and got charged $50 Room was very small and seemed a little outdated

Good service, clean room, good breakfast….just thought beds were a little too hard but overall a great stay.

it was an amazing staff, lady who runs the breakfast was so friendly and even suggested a park for us to hike in, front desk personnel were very professional and suggested restaurants for us AND they texted me that we had left an article of clothing behind so quickly we hadn't even left town yet and went back to retrieve it! 10 out of 10!!

Food server at breakfast was very accommodating, we came down just at closing time and she brought out everything that was left , came to our table and offered waffles .. I was served fresh coffee ..

Hot tub was down ad pool had no heater

First off pool wasn’t working rather heaters wasn’t, we weeee told we could still use it being 30 outside wasn’t gonna happen. It was murky and were fluids with hair floating on top of pool so that was an extra no. Room had food pieces under bed room apparently wasn’t vacuumed, ac unit made vibration noises all night, and smells so we checked air filter and that’s why looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a year. Bathroom was ok sink faucet you couldn’t barely turn on. And on top of that we had a pet and non refundable $50 deposit I assure you my dog was cleaner than the previous people who have stayed in that room. Breakfast attendant was amazing, cheerful and did a great job. Breakfast food was pretty good. All in all $170 for a night in a king bed room for the level of quality not worth it all. Next time we will keep driving and stay in another city.

Convenient to the highway. Very clean. Easy to adjust the temperature. The person setting up for breakfast was extremely nice.

My friend and I always take a short trip together for our birthdays each year. What a gem we found here at the Fairfield Inn, in Ottowa. Such friendly gals at the front desk! We got a warm greeting every time we entered or left the hotel! The breakfast was the normal hotel breakfast, but the ladies who take care of that area were beyond friendly and always cleaning up the tables and making sure all was in order. The manager, Rachel, was super friendly & helpful giving us lots of dinner and activity recommendations. We enjoyed the interactions with everyone and felt very much at home there. Easy check in and check out. We received an upgrade to a suite since we were celebrating our birthdays. We loved having the extra space to relax and have a glass of wine after a day of shopping. They even had cookies set out one evening and bottled water at the front desk for us to take with us when we left each day. Good old fashioned hospitality and a great place to stay!

The staff was very kind, friendly and service was quick. Kathy who served the breakfast was so very nice, conversation was polite and very friendly and helpful. The property is very clean and decorated nicely for Christmas!! We will definitely stay here again

The staff were helpful and very pleasant, and the breakfast was generous. The cleanliness was top notch. The room was smaller than the photos indicated, and the mattresses were too soft, which made it difficult to get out of bed without falling. The bathroom could use a fan and more hooks.

The staff were all friendly and no one seemed like they were from other countries so very easy to understand and speak with. The decor and carpets seemed like they had been replaced since we last stayed there in July 2017. Our experience was so good that time (except for constant key issues) that we decided to try it again and were very pleased! 2 issues in the room were the closet door was off the track so hard to open and close and there was an unknown pinkish stain on the inside of the shower curtain at the side closest to the faucet. These were reported upon checkout. Hoping to try other Fairfield Inns next time we travel.
