Lovely big comfortable bed. Wonderful hosts Great breakfast and very close and convenient to the shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

Placement of customers fridge , was out in the laundry, therefore any customer would have to walk outside the building and around the side to get any if there personal items, which is ridiculous especially at nightime.

Good area but bed condition and breakfast was not so good.

Te Wanaka Lodge was a comfortable and good value place to stay. The rooms were clean and tidy. An excellent breakfast was provided and this time was spent with others exchanging thoughts and ideas about our individual journeys. Highly recommended.

Effectively lodge accommodation in pricey Wanaka, well located for walking to dining options and shops. On-site parking was convenient. Drawbacks were creaky construction with noise from upstairs rooms, beds too soft for our tastes, and malfunctioning door lock..

Not sure why Expedia reviews are mostly positive, Expedia may needs to revise. Previous guest left feed back in a file which have not taken out by housekeeping, he rated below average. To be fair I’m giving an average, the place is dated and not well maintained , noise from street , noise from neighbors nearby walking and closing doors can easily heard and woke us up. Light bulb in the bathroom is out ,only heater lights work make it feels like sauna. Leaves on the balcony need to be cleaned. No coffee or kitchen utensils provided in the room that’s why breakfast is included but make sure you have to be there by 9am

Simple accommodation, convenient and clean. No kitchen and no access to laundry, but there was a fridge and hot water, so we didn't really need these services during our brief stay.

Good location in city center with parking space, nice service from the staff. We stay in one of the small house and it is clean and tidy.

A good location and the eateries, shops etc are very easy walk, the reception people were great, helpful and friendly but we let down by the breakfast staff. The room was basic with few amenities and no fridge, safe etc but clean and functional and the buffet breakfast cooked section was scrambled eggs and bacon only no quite what was expected. Overall not too bad but would stay elsewhere in future

Overall property was in very poor condition. Rooms and bathrooms were very dated and in desperate need of paint.

The main problem with Te Wanaka Lodge is that although it ticks most of the boxes, each box comes with a but... Location is good but - it's right on a main road with intrusive traffic noise late and early. Rooms are well equipped but - they look dark and tired and fixtures and fittings are broken or don't work (bedside cabinet fell apart and bathroom light didn't work etc) Beds are comfortable but - the walls and ceilings are so thin you can hear everything in the rooms adjacent or above you making sleep difficult. Parking is available but - there are only 4 or 5 spaces so if you're the 6th person back you have to park in the public car park at the back of the lodge. The staff are pleasant but - they disappear at 8:30pm so when you get back at 9:30 and find a problem there's no one to help. It sounds like I'm being picky but at $350NZ a night I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a bit more than unfortunately I received.

In just about every respect, a great place, lovely room, simply a very nice motel.

My room was facing a busy road which made it noisy at night

I would recommend Te Wanaka Lodge because of the staff and the convenient location for our travels and hiking on New Zealand's west coast. Mandy gave us a warm welcome and the breakfast cooks were also warm and gracious. Parking was a challenge and we were not expecting the VERY tiny room, but we managed.

Just perfect. Accommodating and friendly staff. We lived the hot tub after hiking and breakfast was great. Walkable to restaurants, shops,lake. Beautiful gardens

The location is excellent, central and five minutes walk from shops and from the lakeside. The atmosphere is homely and comfortable.

Was adequate accommodations for our 1 night stay but definitely could use some updating.

We had a fine stay and the breakfasts were quite good. Not super clean or spacious and definitely the smallest parking lot we have found. The tv was laughably tiny (maybe 24-28”) and mounted at head level by the narrow walkway to the bathroom. It was fine overall but not lodging we would recommend to others.

Comfortable location just a couple blocks from the water. Very friendly and helpful staff and made to order breakfast was very good. Hot tub is available free. The lodge is quaint, kinda funky in a good way. Room was very simple but had all we needed. Ample parking lot just in back.

The property was fine and convivial, and the staff was good! It's within walking distance of the lake, which is stunning.

The rooms are cut cubicles that look out into what seem to be alleyways between rooms. The bed was like a trampoline and very small. Terrible sleep. Finally, there are only four parking spaces in front of the building. Hence, you end up parking way down the street. That said, the breakfast was excellent.

I thought it was a very good value. My room is quite small but who cares. Very nice people.

It’s perfect if you need somewhere to lay your head. Mixed feelings on the staff. On arrival was welcomed and was amazing. On leaving another staff member left us questioning.
