Amazing pool villa, beautiful private beach and great service.

We have really enjoyed our 2 week stay at Sylvan. Rooms were good and spacious and kept very clean. Only criticism is that the beds were very hard. We really appreciated free water bottles every day and clean beach towels. Staff were very friendly and happy to help. We loved the effortless way of getting around the resort with the buggies. Great pools to choose from and a lovely beach. One tip for the hotel is that maybe they should provide recycling for plastics bottles, cans etc. food was good as well although on the expensive side. Plenty of restaurants to choose from in town though and easy and cheap to get there by taxi. Can also recommend Lonely Beach. All in all we had a great holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel and location - beautiful! Great sunsets as well.

Beautiful property with a venicular Railway from our room to the beach. Stunning views & nice private beach. The only downside is the hotel is isolated at a top of the hill.You can't walk to the local village as it's on a steep hill with no pavement. You can walk along the beach when the tide is out which is a novelty. Overall a lovely hotel.

Huge resort. You can walk everywhere, but it’s very hilly. Some of the paths are incredibly steep, and you have to be very careful in case it’s slippy, so definitely not suitable for everyone. The hotel has its own funicular, with 4 stops connecting the beach with the rooms and restaurant right at the top. This is a great help, but it’s SO slow and only holds 6 people. Because it was off-season, one of the restaurants was closed for refurbishment, and the gym was closed for a couple of days whilst it was being decorated. When the gym was open, it was excellent. All new equipment, and more than the average hotel gym. There isn’t really a beach - the hotel has created a kind of fake beach instead. It looks ok, but it’s hard underfoot. The food in the restaurant was excellent, both at breakfast and in the evening. Because it was so quiet, there was a smaller, more limited buffet on my first couple of mornings. My room was a bit dated, but very clean and well maintained. It was nice to have a bath to relax in. Bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent. Not nearly enough power sockets, and the walls and ceiling were very thin. It’s a 20-25 minute walk to both Kai Bae and Lonely Beach. They have a shuttle service three times a day to Kai Bae, but it’s only one way! And the last one is at 4pm. Generally, I was very impressed, and felt I got great value for money. The staff were mostly lovely. The upkeep of such a big place is no mean feat.

Room seemed dated but in good shape. Stuffy noses both of us every night. Maybe dusty or Aircon needed a cleaning. Not nearly enough outlets for this day and age. Great staff throughout hotel. Great views, very laid back. Not impressed with the breakfast buffet and the Coffee machine coffee was really lousy. Spa was just ok. Beach bar cocktails were excellent. We liked our stay but plenty of room for improvement. Probably stay again but in the renovated section only. Really hope to see improvements in the areas We mentioned.

Beautiful spot - quiet and private feel. Amazing views.

The resort is attractive with many things for families to do. The views are beautiful and the waters are clear and enjoyable to swim inside. The breakfast buffet is average and has a varied menu. The restaurant for lunch and dinner has a limited menu with some items not always being available. The resort is about a 30 minute drive from the ferry dock and when returning to the mainland on Sunday, leave early or late. We sat 2 hours in the sun and the car almost overheated because of traffic

Beautiful property, quiet resort with excellent service.

Very steepy, family rooms didn't have any sound insulation, lots of kids sound from many rooms, if you looking for a quiet holiday, this isn't the place. The view is amazing though. Service could be improved.

The new year party was great, the buffet was fab and the manager Tom & staff put on a great evening.

Here is the problem. We are a family of 4 so the “family room” is waaaay up on the hill. You cannot walk to the pool or beach. The pool is really nice and on the beach and it overlooks many empty rooms that we would have loved. If you are a family of 4 looking for convenience this is not your place. There is also nothing walking distance so your only restaurant option is the restaurant at the Sylvan. The staff was very nice, breakfast was good, no problems there. We moved to 15 Palms for half the price and LOVED everything about it! No free breakfast but for $50 a night and ordering from their amazing restaurant was not a problem

I have stayed at this hotel many times as it has always been excellent, however, our last stay (8 Days) they quality has dropped significantly and I will not be returning. Hotel bed has bed mites and my wife and I were covered in bites! Many parts of hotel under refurbishment and we did not get the room we booked and had to be moved. Hotel breakfast used to be one of the best I ever had,...now it is not good and very poor....do not pay for this service! In 8 days I only bothered to go twice as it was very poor standard Over very disappointing stay....we will book another hotel next time in Kho Chang

Gym needs constant calling to reception to fix this or that. No special deal even in todays situation. No updates.on breakfast buffet.

The staff at the hotel made our stay wonderful. My wife has dietary restriction and the restaurant made every effort to accommodate her needs. We had all our meals at the hotel. I would stay here again and recommend others to stay here.

Resort by the sea nice beach clear water many sport activities, excellent restaurant and swimming pools

Great place, just a stones throw from the Klong Prao center. Place is such a paradise, we definitely recommend it! Perfect place for the families with children as well - so many activities and much to do. Excellent breakfast.

The staff was amazing. Very accommodating!!!! Food was good. Ocean was beautiful and warm.

Thanks a lot for the pool villa upgrade. Your pool villa is so specious and cosy and comes with a perfect sea view. Unfortunately, I arrived with high fever. But the nice atmosphere at your pool villa helped me to recover soon. I wish I could have extended our short 3 night stay. What a beautiful place! In addition, the restaurant by the beach offers a wide range of tasty meals and your staff is welcoming, kind and helpful. Thanks a lot. Hopefully I can come back soon.

OK for a good sleep and a good shower, but certainly not 4 star One disappointment on this trip was being hit with additional charges for my sons rollaway bed, after booking had been accepted and paid in full (non-refundable). I was left with no choice to pay the 40% surcharge over and above my original booking, Hotel advised this was a Hotels.com error and not theirs
