This place is very basic, but good for the price. The staff was nice and helpful. But this is an older property and there are NO 3 prong plugs, so bring an adapter. Also, didn't like the fact that I had to pay for instant coffee.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Posada Real. We've been coming to Mexico for a few years and usually stay over in La Penita (renting a house from a friend), so it was nice to spend a week in Guayabitos. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We especially would like to note how friendly and kind the woman was who cleaned our room. So nice! The closeness to the beach was our favourite thing. Location location location! The pool was always full of kids having a blast. So many happy families!

Friendly, helpful staff ready to meet our needs. Brought us a fridge upon request. Moved us to a larger, brighter room after the first two days. Nice little restaurant & bar on site. Great breakfast! Unfortunately there is no furniture at poolside, so no place to sit and dry off after you go for a dip. However, our only real complaint rests with Hotels.com because we booked the room many months ahead of time for $33 CAD per night; but when we arrived, we were charged $33 USD per night--a significant difference--and there was no way to correct the problem at the hotel.

Check in was easy and we were given a very clean, corner room 221 that overlooked the quiet lane, half a block from the ocean. The room was a decent size with 2 double beds, a dining table, 4chairs, a cold fridge, great TV, a hot shower and a delightful balcony. There was a nice dresser and closet space for even more storage. The front desk helped me many times with info re the wifi or the buses or directions around town. Anna, our cleaning woman was very thorough and respectful when we asked her not to clean on a few days. The location of Posada Real is superb with many restaurants and shops nearby. The beach is 2 minutes away if you walk very slowly. The ambience is efficient, polite, Mexican hospitality. I look forward to returning.

Like it because its one block from the beach, the staff are great and close to everything... plus excellent price.

Lots of places to eat, movie theater in town, great little bookstore, cafe where you can trade your book for a new one at NO cost and no purchase needed. Toilet plugged up putting paper into it, but both times a nice young man immediately plunged it. All of the employees had a kind and friendly attitude. They only accept cash payment at the end of the stay, no credit card payment.

The location was great. The staff was friendly and helpful - if we needed something repaired, they provided it immediately, i.e, shower head. The kitchen lacked enough cutlery and both the dishes and pots & pans should be replaced. Some bowls & mugs were cracked & the non-stick finish of the pots was missing in places. It would be nice if dish towels were provided. The propane stove top was warped but still useable. The hot tub temperature was only warm and was available only for 2 hrs in the morning and another 2 hours in the evening. The staff were friendly and the management was great. The rooms were very clean. Beds were hard and one mattress should be replaced as it was flattened on one side from people sitting on it.

I was expecting basic room but this was very spartan. I only stayed one night but had originally booked for 14. Went out the next day and found a place, porto martell that was cheaper and ten times better.

The staff here are friendly and helpful. Restaurant on sight serves great basic food. Family oriented. Very basic rooms. This a no frills hotel. A little over priced. Still,, A dry roof over your head if you need one.

This hotel is definitely a hotel for the budget minded or for families looking for a clean but not so comfortable hotel. Not for us, but definitely has a market. The staff were friendly, the beds were very hard, the rooms very Spartan. The price is definitely right for those on a limited budget.

Decent TV, internet sporadic, not much room, bathroom okay, really small balcony, A/C was nice but noisy, fan seemed too dangerous to use. If you like to sleep in, like past 6:30, you wont get the opportunity, even on Sunday!! Convenient location, pretty close to beach, decent restaurant, lots more nearby, some outdoor areas to relax.

This hotel was a bit noises in the morning with garbage trucks and buses, but our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. Food from the restaurant was very tasty and priced reasonably.

If youre getting this place for less than US$30, I guess you cant complain. But its VERY basic and not the cleanest. The staff member who opened my room for me had to kick a dead roach out of the room with her foot. Not bad for a short, basic stay if youre alone.

We stayed from Feb. 24th to March 25th 2015, and have reserved two months next year. For the price, it is the best value in the town of Guayabitos. Is a family hotel so weekends can get a little noisy, but the pool is closed at 9pm. If you dont have children, then the second or third floor is better. Great employees and owner.

We weren't expecting much but it didn't even live up to that. Buses rolled in in the middle of the night offloaded and before it was light out there were kids screaming and yelling in the pool. When we got up at about 7:00 am and went downstairs only to find people camped in every available common space, pool unusable as well as hot tube area also this time of the morning every table and chair was occupied by people eating and drinking beer. Paid for 2 weeks left after 3 days went back to check out our room and they had Re rented it even though we hadn't checked out and refund offered. When we get home we will contact Expedia about a partial refund. Do not stay here if you are looking for a rest.

For the price - and excellent place to stay - we booked for one week and stayed 10 days - the staff is very friendly.
