It's a great location right on the river and very close to downtown but it could stand some upgrading. I will stay there again but next time I'll get a cabin. There was too many people outside our room talking way too loud to late at night.

Perfect place for a 2 day mini vacation. Loved the swings down by the river. Our king room was updated and so nice. Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip. We didn’t need to drive anywhere. Our car stayed at the property the entire time and we were able to walk everywhere.

Stay was good. Interrupted by a lot of rain at no fault to the hotel. Staff seemed a bit short at the front desk with the exception of Jessica. Room appeared clean but found mold on sheets and bathroom door did not close.

We had a very nice visit. Really enjoyed the swings by the river. Beautiful parks and waterfalls close by. It was very relaxing. I actually left prescription pain med in the drawer at checkout. They called as soon as it was found. Very nice and honest staff. Very dog friendly at the hotel and provided a list of many dog friendly businesses.

Door handle on 117 is not working correctly so had all kind of issues unlocking the door every time. Ice machine didnt work most of the time.

This was a last minute reservation. Price was great and location was amazing.
Pro’s: beautiful beach area, right on the water, walking distance to everything, small and quaint place, shower was large.
Con’s: mattress was way too hard for our liking, lights from outside shined into room.
Overall, we loved staying here and would definitely stay again!!

One must keep in mind this is a very old property so you should not expect it to be in the best of condition. Having said that, the property is very quaint and located next to the river (The Chattahoochee is but a small creek running through Helen as these are the headwaters for the river) and located in a very quiet area at the end of a short roadway. I have stayed at this property many times since 1986 and though, as stated above, it is quite old today, the rooms are adequate for the region. There was black mold in the grouting of the shower and the linens are very basic. Although there is a “breakfast” area in the small lobby it consists mainly of cellophane wrapped “snack cakes” and two fruit juices and of course coffee. Do not, and I can’t express this strongly enough, expect anything hot (sausage, eggs, pancakes, waffles, etc.) to be served! You stay here for the few of the river and the quiet!

Stayed here because river was easily accessible (right outside door) and on property. Nice little beach and plenty of bench swings.
HOWEVER....bring you sleeping mask. The hallways (which are all outside) were EXTRMELEY bright with LED bulbs in front of each door and light filtered in at every crack and crevice and to make matters worse the curtains barely covered the windows making it impossible to even remotely get the room dark enough to sleep. We even tried covering window with extra blankets to no avail. Otherwise, enjoyed this property and would have given it 5 stars. Neither this or that....Pergo floors...keeps feet sandy. We prefer carpet.
