Room 565 had two gigantic roach bugs that I was able to unalive with my shoe. However as I begin to relax for sleep I heard some noise near the floor under the window and saw a small mice go from behind the curtain on the floor to behind the desk. I was not able to sleep in a room with all these pests.

Over all a surprisingly good hotel to be a 3*. Breakfast is with warm dishes as well as fruit and yoghurt and bread. Used the transfer upon arrival and it worked without issues. Fire alarm sounded one evening several times. One good thing is that it actually works, but since it was caused by smoke in the kitchen I didn’t try eating dinner there. In general friendly staff and clean. Close by a two minute walk to a small shopping center area with grocery, sports stores, and restaurants.

This was a very convenient and easy location in Lynwood. The grocery across the parking lot was very convenient and made things very simple. I was only there one night but easily could have stayed a week. Breakfast was hot and good and very easy and affordable.

The chef in charge of cooking eggs at breakfast didn't respond to my greetings or thanks and just looked at me for a moment with a cold expression and turned her head away.
She looked annoyed because she took orders when she didn't want to work??
Please tell her I am so sorry for ordering a fried egg. And if the hotel make a self-cooking corner, I will cook it for myself.

The staff was amazing, as well as the food. The rooms are comfortable - but the bathrooms need upgrading - the showers always leak, flooding the entire place and the silicone in the shower is old and disgusting black like mould.

The room was clean and comfortable. The wifi worked perfectIy so I could catch up on work. I struggled to set the aircon (so perhaps an instruction manual or a summary of how to set it would help), but someone came to set it for me within a few minutes of me phoning reception. The TV remote's baterries were flat, but it was possible to use the buttons on the TV (old school!). Overall, a very pleasant stay. I was so happy to see the soap and shampoo were bars wrapped in cardboard instead of plastic, well done!

Great location (to visit CSIR, and next to restaurants); generally good condition of room and hotel, but bed was not comfortable - I did not sleep well; breakfast was disappointing - poor service and half of the food options ran out an hour into breakfast; Internet was extremely slow; service appears to have become worse over the years.

I liked the area the property was in, I enjoyed the night scenary as well and safety of the surrounding area. I didn't like the fact that my room didn't have a microwave and the air-conditioner was of poor quality as it didn't get hot in a reasonable amount of time.

Generally happy with accommodation for 2 of the 3 rooms, however we booked non-smoking rooms and they gave us one of the rooms as a smoking room. It stank and was not appreciated. When we queried it with reception they didn’t have any other rooms available. I feel they should have informed us that they can’t meet our requests before they accepted the booking.

I would have given this hotel best rating all around had the airconditioning in my room worked . The airconditioning unit just blew uncooled air while temperatures outside were sauring. Sleep was impossible !! Complaints to management fell on deaf ears .

The location was safe and convenient with restaurants within a minutes walk. All the staff were lovely especially on check-in and our waiter. The pool is small and was chilly but we arrived in early September. The room was clean but a little tired hence 4 stars but we would stay here again.

I absolutely loved my 6-night stay, very comfortable room and bed, quiet hotel, clean and fresh. Tea/coffee facilities in the room are a bonus. There is a vending machine downstairs for bottles of water and also a hydration station for water. The hotel has easy access to Lynwood Bridge mall with a good selection of restaurants and coffee shops, and a woolworths too. The pool area is lovely for a swim and some time in the sunshine. I will definitely stay here again next time in Pretoria. It was sheer bliss.
