Room was cute, I feel it’s very overpriced. I understand it’s a touristy area, but it was the most expensive place we stayed on our 1 week trip driving across the west never staying in one place twice. We didn’t even get to shower because our tub faucet was loose and it was spraying water all over the bathroom and leaking onto floor from the bottom of the tub as well. When my husband told the front desk that it was a major water issue, they didn’t act concerned at all amd that was that.

Friendly staff. Rooms looked a little old and were not the cleanest. Our shower door was broken and only opened halfway. Rooms were dark with little lighting and our view was of a brick wall if we opened the windows.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and we recommend it to whoever inquires about places to stay in Deadwood. This time was not the best. First, the room was freezing, and I had to Google the instructions on how to work the thermostat. I did ask for an extra pillow, I didn't get one, but I do understand that one may have not been available. Then there was something on the bathroom floor, we could not figure out what it was, we used a towel to clean it up. The first morning, we went to make coffee and there was a crushed beer can under the coffee maker. I called the front desk to see about getting the room cleaned a little better and told her I'd let her know when we left for the day. I then went to take a shower and there were no washcloths. When we left I stopped at the front desk and told her we were leaving for the day. She said she'd let housekeeping know. We returned roughly 8 or 9 hours later, and nothing was done! Emily went in and done it all while we were at dinner. She was exceptional and did more than I expected her to! Now to go back to the first morning, no breakfast unless you'd want a bagel. There was no batter to have pancakes and no milk to have cereal. We waited because someone was going to refill it but they didn't come so we had to go elsewhere for breakfast. No coffee in our room either morning. 2nd morning, a bunch of coffee grounds in the cup. Emily deserves a kudos as she did what the housekeeper should have done to begin with.

Our choice of the Hotel by Gold Dust was complete random. The main reason for selecting it was that it is located in Deadwood, SD, which we knew nothing about. What a fun place to stay! We were greeted by a friendly host and given all the information we needed to check in and park our car. The room was clean, the bed comfy, and the amenities suited our needs. Nothing luxurious, but we didn’t expect luxury in a old time Western town. We are so happy we chose the Hotel by Gold Dust.

The room was not very clean. The microwave was dirty. There was orange stuff splattered on the walls. The AC unit was duct taped into the window. The road noise was very loud. The price we paid was not worth the room we stayed in.

Great stay, the hotel & room were very clean! The check in process was pretty easy, I appreciated the free parking & breakfast in the morning. I was accidentally over charged but the hotel rectified that pretty quickly after I contacted them.

The young lady at the desk had a major attitude in the room was very noisy. I stayed in room 120. There was loud traffic outside the window and service vehicles working all night long. Lots of other choices I would avoid this place

Overall was fine. Small rooms but fairly clean. Had shower problems but they fixed the next day. Portable air conditioner in the rooms and worked ok but hose kept falling out and would pump hot air in the room until I put it back so, waking up during the night to do this wasn’t ideal.. otherwise was an ok stay..

Front desk staff was amazing! Great room- nice and clean. Perfect location on the main road in Deadwood. Right in the middle of everything!

Pleeeease print up a map showing guests where to park because the verbal directions were awful. Apart from that this was a nice clean hotel right next to the fun of Downtown Deadwood. Which is lots of fun. Also reception staff were generally excellent. Highly recommended.

Nice location but small room. Air conditioning unit was terribly loud.

We wanted a hotelclose to the main strip so we could easily walk everywhere. Location was great. The room was a bit small and cramped, and I was afraid to use the Keurig because it was sitting in the bathroom. Seemed like an unclean spot for it. But, the bed was very comfortable.

The rooms are small and not the cleanest. It was dusty and not vacuumed well. There is a portable AC unit in the room that takes up even more space in the cramped room. It is taped up in the window and not sealed at all! We were up all night swatting and killing bugs that had got into the room. Not sound proof at all so if you are wanting to actually sleep, this is not the hotel for you!

Coffee maker was in the the bathroom on a shelf under the sink. First night air conditioning didn’t work. They installed a portable unit with a bright white tubing connected to the window. The tubing acted as a bright white light all night long, reflecting light from the outside.

Location was perfect, other than that not so good. The auto pancake maker for breakfast only worked half the time. I was surprised how far away the offsite parking was. No waters in the vending machine. No ice maker the first nite. The room was a shoebox. I knew it would be smaller than a normal room but this was tiny. Spend a few extra bucks and stay somewhere else!!

Everything with this property was great. But they HAVE to sort out some kind of map for guests to show where the parking is because the description I received was comically bad and it took me 45 mins to find. Other than that it is a clean and well run little hotel.

Good location. Staff was friendly. Rooms were NOT made up daily the way they are in most hotels... . Price was reasonable for what you get.

Car parking off site, noisy off the charts, walls so thin I heard the guy in the room next to us hit his snooze twice, vacuuming starts at about 8 am.

Liked that you could walk, breakfast was at the most okay no fresh fruit or eggs.

Absolutely love the location and cleanliness. Everything was in walking distance and convenient
