Staff was great! The updated room was ver cool. The price was the coolest compared to others in area. If prices stay like they are, we will return. Glad we found out about this place.

We stayed three nights. The rooms are quiet and very clean. They offer free firewood if you would like to have a bonfire out back. They offer free charcoal for the grills they have outback under a grill cover. If you would like to go to the zoo they also offer free passes for that. I would recommend this place, unless you are someone who needs a pool and the fancy hotel name. We will stay here again when we are back in Duluth. We also enjoyed the deck off our room. It was great for sitting outside in the evening and for letting our dogs out for their bathroom breaks.

From the start, a negative experience. An unlisted pet fee, an owner attitude about the fee... I decided to stay nonetheless. A freezer that ruined my food overnight was enough. People shouldn't have to compromise quality for a "dog friendly" hotel.

Excellent value, nice little motel. Full size fridge, microwave, coffee pot in the room. Only minor issue was that previous guest’s dirty clothes had been left behind, squeezed behind the bathroom door. Towels were ten times nicer than the fancy chain hotel we were in the night before. Clean carpets, spotless bathroom, huge TV, even a space heater and small lunch table included. Top notch for an older motel.

The property was clean.The room was clean. The only thing and I really didn't like and it wasn't that big of a problem was there wasn't cable, it was RUKU. I had no idea how to use it.There wasn't any instructions

This property really lived up to its website and reviews. Yes, it is an older motel but Jeff has done a great job of refreshing everything. We LOVED the sparkling clean full size frig, the clean grills with all tools and the fire pits. The charcoal is free as is the firewood. If you are exploring the Duluth area, stay here. Clean, clean, clean and quiet!Also, the Tappa Keg was great! Food so so but prices cheaper than fast food and the staff are wonderful. Easy walk from the motel and $3 Coors Light drafts!

Really simple and nice motel. We loved our stay here it was very affordable, the staff let us check in early around 3 PM, and the room was spotless. I'll be honest the place may look a little dated when you pull up, but the rooms have been redone and they have everything you need for an easy stay. There are also hiking trails that are walkable from the hotel and they have a very nice picnic area. Very affordable, nice stay.

The Willard Munger Inn was a wonderful place to stay. It had a trail right behind the Inn to walk and see wildlife. The Zoo is across the street. During our stay, a black bear came into the parking lot, tried to cross the street and then disappeared back into the woods. It was amazing! We will definitely be back.

We have stayed with them twice now, and I would still very highly recommend it! Friendly and efficient staff, beautiful rooms and location, and within 10-15 minutes of most tourist spots in the area! Plus, you get free entry into the zoo which is only a couple minutes away! We plan to keep coming back here for years to come.

They have done a lovely job. I haven’t stayed in a motel for a very long time but will be going back here the next time I am in Duluth. The back area is just lovely and peaceful with the bbq areas, fire pit landscaping.

The beginning of Munger trail, Waabizheshikana, was a fine walk on the edge of the St Louis River estuary.

Basic accomodation for minimal price. Space is minimal, but adequate. Biggest nuisance is traffic noise. Even though it is set back from road, it is still busy.

This is a good Inn. I am a regular. Most enjoyment of stay is being greeted by the Inn Manager's dog.

A little warm for a nice fall evening. But otherwise, a pleasant stay.

I had great difficulty due to the extreme heat in my room. I learned there was a repairman there the morning I checked out to work on the system. Other than that I was very pleased with the room. Check in was smooth and there was little street noise. I would recommend.

The owner is the grandson of the original owner that built the property. Free passes to the zoo. Free bike rentals with the trail conveniently located close to the property. When I wanted bottled water the property didn't not have any but the owner gave me two bottles form his personal supply. Recommend staying in one of the upper units.

Host was pleasant and professional. Greeted by a well behaved dog, too! Cozy room at a great price. Shower stall could have been a little cleaner....hair left over. Free pass to the zoo was a pleasant bonus. Convenient location...not too far from downtown Duluth, Superior WI, North Shore and Jay Cooke State Park....all of which I visited in my short time there.

Definitely an older property that the owners tried to fix up, so I give them credit for that. PROs: It's a holiday weekend and the room wasn't worth the holiday price, IMO. It's in a convenient location south of Canal Park and right on the Munger hiking trail. They allows dogs and have ample yard space for walks and potty time. CONs: The room was a little cramped for my husband, two dogs, and myself. The Jacuzzi tub was a nice bonus but the jets were weak and therefore non-massaging. The shower only got hot water if the tub water was running and the shower would run out of hot water if the tub ran too long. The fan in the bathroom and over the tub were both very noisy, and the aesthetic updates were rather shoddy. We stayed for three nights and we asked for fresh towels and a new trash bag on our 2nd day but never got them so we reused our towels and took out the trash ourselves. Overall, it fit our basic needs, the tub was a nice bonus despite its issues, and we appreciate that our dogs were welcome there; however, we won't go back.
