Friendly place, good value but no way of cooling the rooms -far too hot, but it is heat wave conditions

Such a wonderful stay at this hotel. Is was a little nervous initially to book but I'm so glad we stayed here. It's a small hotel and a little bit further out than others but it's a completely short walkable distance to the town center and bus stop to the Santa village. There's plenty of food for breakfast and the choice to pay extra for evening meals. Staff are so wonderful and the hotel and area was so quiet when we stayed in March which we loved. Although the hotel was pretty full with guests it's probably the quietest we have stayed and it was delightful. The hotel itself is a little older but I would definitely stay here again if we were ever back in the area, such great value.

The staff were kind and efficient. The hotel itself was okay. The room was clean and the parking was convenient. It didn't seem to be very walkable but the weather also could have played a part in this. If I returned to the area, I would probably stay again.

Don’t expect much in terms of facilities/ decor it is however conveniently located and has a superb breakfast

Great Location 4- 5 minutes walk to shops, restaurants and town square. Clean Comfortable rooms and bathroom , Older style but efficient with all amenities. Good Breakfast but be sure to go early because when they run out they do not refill. Disappointed child at 9.30 to find no bacon available. Reception Ladies were friendly and willing to offer assistance from finding Ice rink, restaurants or booking Taxi's.

Not a bad place to stay. Room was nice, quiet (except some random low frequency intermittent noise), but it didn't last into the night. Close and convenient to downtown. A short walk, but not bad. Staff was friendly and breakfast wasn't bad.

We went during Christmas season and understandably the price was on the high side. But this is really just a 3 star hotel with minimal facilities. Not even a pair of bathroom slippers was provided and the the toilet was rather cramped. The reception was helpful and nice though.

First of all the lady gave us an early check in which was very nice of her.The spar was great and very hot.The rooms can do with some tender loving care new globes so the lights will work. No room cleaning which is just fine for us Breakfast ok while a little limited. The receptionist was very nice and the most friendly we encounted in the 3 months of travelling.

Nice, modern hotel. Close to downtown 5-10min. Also close to the train station 15min. Breakfast buffet is very good. The staff is nice and friendly. The only downside is the small shower but overall, this is a great hotel for your visit to Rovaniemi.

Very professional front desk

A comfortable and affordable hotel, walking distance to city center and train station. It's a bit of a throwback to the 1970s in feel. Breakfast was nice.

Cozy small hotel within a few blocks from the centre

Staff were very friendly and helpful . The breakfast was amazing . The beds were really comfortable and rooms a food size .

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and check in was very smooth. The room was very clean and organized. It was very hot in the room in the middle of the night and there was no air conditioning. We had to open the window and the road noise was a little loud. Other than that is was a pleasant stay.

The breakfast was a buffet that included variety of juices, cold meat, bread, yogurt, fruits, waffles, coffee and tea, pastries, eggs, potatoes, and hot meat. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Best way to get to from and to the hotel from and to the airport is using local taxis.

It was clean and close to the town center. The food was simple and delicious. Most important was the staff…. They were exceptional! They were willing to help with anything and everything. I miss them already and hope I’ll be able to go back to see them all and experience magical Lapland again!❤️❤️❤️❤️

We had our dog staying with us. The hotel offered a small blanket and a food bowl for a pet, very nice and thoughtful! Very basic facilities, but super nice beds and great breakfast! Good location but must say that rooms are quite noisy. Maybe the courtyard side is more peaceful? Our room was next to a driveway.

Was pretty good. They had breakfast which was good too. Close to the city centre. About 15 min away from the Santa Claus Village. There was dust and stain marks on the side tables and desks. Could be cleaned better but not bad.

お部屋はシンプルでアメニティとかは何もない。朝食は種類は多くないが、毎朝違うメイン料理だったのは良かった。毎朝ワッフルを作って食べたが、簡単に作れて美味しかった。あまりお部屋のグレードに気にしない人にはとてもコストパフォーマンスが良いホテルだと思う。

Very nice receptionists, pretty good breakfast, spacious room with comfotable beds needs a bit refurbishing, very good hotel for short term staying, 5minutes on foot to city center, free parking near building, 24h reception

It was nice to staying at Hotel Aakenus, the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is always impressive and surprising everyday, especially the waffle maker , it is fun and interesting to have my own waffle every morning. Overall this is a nice hotel, my room is cosy and bright however there the housekeeping has rooms of improvement , for example the bed making is too rough and even one day my bed is not being rearranged or even the pillow is on the floor. The faucet is not clean, one cup was missing one day... etc, the housekeeping is not done carefully or detailed. I will still recommend to my friend since I really enjoy my 6 days at Hotel Aakenus.

On arrival the room was set for a couple, we had to separate the beds ourselves, not something you want to do after 11 hours of travelling and the staff member told us to separate them ourselves. The room was freezing. I was not happy with this. However the breakfast was exceptional.
