I did say I was bring a truck and trailer and would need somewhere to park ---this was because of security of the load.It was only a small truck and took some persuading but finally agreed on giving me parking over two units.was a bit of a turn off

I loved how clean and tidy and fresh the room was. Fantastic!

Could have had a solar light on the gate entrance as it was hard to see when coming in later at night otherwise excellent and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

I arrived late - no problem letting myself in - and the motel had called me earlier in the evening to give instructions and welcome me. Expedia booking was totally straight forward. Everything is clean and crisp, and decor is inoffensive to the point of boring. But when you are after a good night's sleep, who's looking at the walls. I had a luxuriously comfortable Queen bed, seriously, deep soft underlay and a firm-ish mattress that suited me spot on. Everything worked and the cleanliness and precise paintwork and maintenance make the place authentic, like new. There's a very pleasant garden area out front. I felt sorry when I told the owner as I was leaving at 9am, that the within-date, unopened, refrigerated milk was curdled. Someone in the supply chain let him down. I'll stay again, no hesitation.

Whakatane surprised me in how nice it was, friendly, lovely walks (Bush and in town). Ohope beach was nice. Great wildlife. Loved our visitAccommodation was good. Sufficient. We’re surprised we only got 500mb free WiFi as booking said free WiFi. Phone chewed it up like anything :-(. Everything we needed was there

Awesome place to stay! Clean, cosy and chilled environment! My family loved it & we’re heading back tomorrow ...I want to keep visiting Whakatane more often

The lighting was so poor I could hardly see. When I went to use the microwave I had to get the light from my mobile phone. There is no need for poor lighting and to me its just a cheap way to save money. We pay good money to stay in these places and for that deserve better. A good LED bulb might cost more, but lasts longer and gives a decent light - 100w - not 60 or lower....

Convenient for town centre and waterfront. Just a short drive or a goodd walk - we did both. Beautiful cliff of native vegitation just across the road makes a wonderful backdrop. We booked for one night and ended up staying for 4 days. Our helicopter trip to White Island was a once in a lifetime experience and I highly recommend it.

Overall it is ok, the only thing that I feel it may need to improve is the WiFi service. Not sure if it is the 500MB limitation, end the day we can only have one device got stayed on the Wifi.

Unfortunately staff were not there on arrival so was entertained for one hour by another motel stayer.

The units are somewhat dated, but are so clean and well-equipped, with comfy beds and a pleasant setting.

This is the second time we have stayed here and we will be back. Close to town and a short drive to Ohope Beach. Very clean and surprisingly spacious, we felt welcome and enjoyed our stay.

Warm autumn weather for the three days we stayed in Whakatane. Although this motel is situated on a busy road any traffic noise ceases at the close of the business day. Plenty of well developed both easy and moderate walks, great shopping and easy access to tours, most able to be accessed within a 15 minute walk from the motel or a five minute car ride.
