The picture on the portal does look better than the reality in daylight. The room, which I had booked was awful due to a very HUGE lack of hygiene, especially related to the toilet ant its shower cabin. Black fungus and layer of dust to be seen. Moved out as I could not stand this. Pls., see yourself.

Paid our stay on hotels.com, when we got to the hotel we called the host and she told us to go to a supermarket nearby and get the keys.
When we got there we were told that we had to pay for 3 nights with cash only. No receipt
Double charged amount of our stay

Entrance and staircase very dingy however the room was great very quirky and clean. Sheets & towels were clean however the quilt didn’t fit the bed. Thank god I was sleeping alone as it wouldn’t have covered two people. No noice from other residents after midnight although the train line is next to hotel the trains could be heard as a light sleeper this didn’t interrupt my sleep. Overall very cheap & cheerful place to stay

There are nice and kind staffs!!
It is so close from the central station, and good access to the beach around 10minutes by walk!
Room is clean!!
One shocked thing is that I couldn’t sleep sometimes because of too loud by trains noise.

Good things:
Just at the main street, very cheap, quite spatious rooms, wifi was ok
Bad things:
Every 8-10 minutes a freaking train drove by just outside the window! It was so bloody loud that I kept waking up every single time from 6 am, it was torture. Not really high standard in room, there was no toilet paper or shower cream/soap so I had to use normal soap. You could clearly hear what the neighbours were talking about and.... "doing" :|

The location was very good , right in the canter and everything was of local distance .
However, the rail tracks are right beside the property and the noise was quite annoying and loud . The property was clean but it had very basic facilities.

I booked 4 rooms at The Central Hotel in Sopot for myself and 3 friends in July, ladies,60+. I chose the hotel for position at the top of the main street. The hotel is a hostel, but had private bathrooms, kettle and balconies so I thought it would be ok. Emails were answered promptly, pleasantly and politely so we were looking forward to our stay. On arrival, we were checked in by a young girl who arranged for a young man to carry my VERY heavy suitcase upstairs. (There is no lift but we knew that.) First impressions were that the rooms were tired but serviceable. From then on, it was all downhill. I had room 103. the balcony looked lovely but was advertised as on the street side NOT the railwayside. The tracks were about 10 metres from the side.Noise was extreme with trains running every half an hour for 24 hours. As the weather was very hot, it was impossible to sleep with the window closed - I tried! To make matters worse, huge groups of young people congregated outside, shouting and drinking throughout the night. The fridge didnt work. Other rooms were worse especially 201 which had no wardrobe or drawers, a shower which randomly spurted hot and cold, a dirty chest for clothes,a balcony door which didnt shut.107/200 were very small with scant curtains.2 nights of noise sent 3 of us to another hotel but, despite Expedias best efforts, the hotel would not refund the 2 nights left although the rooms were re-let. Rooms were not cleaned nor bins emptied for 4 days.

Location is definitely the best part of this hostel, next to the train station, main street and even the beach. Noise from the trains didn't bother us near as much as the one from the street and other customers. Beds were horrible and squeaky, so to save your back I wouldn't spend too many nights here. Room was a bit outdated and fridge wasn't cooling at all. Anyway for good offer ok choice for a budget holiday, as long as you're not expecting too much.

Very nice place, totally reccomended as they offer good quality for the price. Just as a suggestion, you should ask in every reservation the expected check in time, and if you see it's after 10PM arrange something with the customer.
Thanks!

I was under impression this is a trendy hotel in great location. The room decor was great and location handy. What set me off was lack of hot water next morning and never ending noise from street level below and same floor we stayed on all night long. Plus sheets were sized for one person not two (it was 7C that night). I do not remember when last time I was so disappointed with my choice of hotel.

No night time reception. Cheap very good value, but spend a bit more and you get more

Budget central hotel, we (3 friends) stayed in a ground floor room with mezzanine what made the room more attractive.
Very central hotell, 24 hour shops, taxis, trainstation, sea, shops and restaurants nearby.
Tip; walk under the tunnel and at the end of the smaal road, on your left you find a local "retaurant" with tl lighting, red and white table cloths, but very good local food for next to nothing. You can point out what you want and stuff yourself with good home made food.
Go under the next tunnel and follow the road a little til you see a square. Excellent bar, nice staff and smoking area. They do pizza's, they are very good to.

The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel itself is rather old, broken tiles, cranky wooden floor boards, noise from the trains as they go through at night shakes the building. The hotel is not the cleanest, but the staff are again very helpful. If you need somewhere cheap just to put your head down in central support, then this may be for you. Definitely not recommended for families. It will suit students more. Overall, a different kind of experience. Be ready to use the ear plugs they provide in reception, you will need them.
