My grandsons 5 and 7 had a wonderful time. The camp ground was just perfect for us . The train was not a problem at all the boys loved it. Very clean and well kept, everyone very helpful and pleasant. Will come back and would recommend to grand parents that want to make a great memory.

The campground was clean enough, and the bathrooms were clean at times. Certainly not "cleanest in the world" as advertised. The cabin itself was clean but the mattresses were SO uncomfortable. We have stayed in many cabins like this and I have never had such bad back pain that lasted for days. Worst of all though is the train that passes about 15 ft from the cabin all night long. I did get an email about this a few days before our reservation "warning" us, but this was after I could get a refund. We would have never stayed here knowing it would be two sleepless nights in a row. Shame on Anvil for not being up front.

When booking the room it states that there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. However that’s is not the case. The restroom is not in the cabin but you have to walk to it. I did receive an email stating that the restroom was not in the cabin but was “super close” so we thought it Wally’s be a good experience but that also was not the case. There were 2 cabins relatively close to the restrooms but that was not ours. Even though one of them were empty the whole time of our visit we were not offered that cabin. 2 days after that we received and email that there was a train that ran behind the cabin at various times throughout the say which was no issue, but it didn’t say that I could have reached out the cabin and touched it. It wasn’t only the noise but the whole cabin shakes every time the train went by so no sleep was found. They also don’t tell you that the mattress are only a 2 inch thick plastic covered piece of foam. The place is pretty clean which is good and the game room is nice but it closes at 6. We checked out early and asked for a refund but was denied. We went to a hotel that was cheaper and much nicer. We would not return if you are looking to ruffing it at an elaborate price this is the place for you. Also be aware there are cameras all over the place on the campground.

It was the worst experience ever! I don’t recommend this place to anyone

The staff are very welcoming and super friendly. Everything was ready upon our arrival. The cabin was extremely clean and cozy. The bathhouse/restroom facilities were clean and heated. The surrounding area was nice and included an arcade and playground to occupy little ones. This campground is extremely nice and we would definitely stay there again.

Well it's a great family campground with options to stay with your tent, a cabin or your Rv Only one shower for the men and another one for women All in one bathhouse Very clean and friendly. If you are sensitive to noise it's pretty quite until you hear and feel the dieisel train Thunders by a few times every night Regardless if you're in a tent or trailer it's 20-30 feet from you, your going to know exactly what I'm telling you 2 hrs sleep after 11 pm so tuck in early....

Great place to stay in the area and the people were very nice and welcoming. The place was very clean and comfortable. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed in one of the log cabins. Our grandkids loved the adventure and play areas on site. They also enjoyed watching the trains as they passed by. Our bed was on the hard side but ok. The staff is excellent. Everyone was nice and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Will stay again next time we are in the area.

The cottage was perfect for us--a little spartan, but everything we needed, and as represented. The family/staff were so pleasant and helpful. We would not hesitate to return.

I do not recommend staying in the cabins.Overall the campground is very nice. There is a small pool, cute playground, clean bathrooms, game room, and friendly service with free coffee and donuts in the morning. If you stay in an RV site where your backyard isnt a train track, maybe the train noise and force will be lessened since the cabins serve as buffers.

Cabins are small and I did not like not having a bathroom! But we only stayed for a couple nights that made it ok to deal with!

My wife and I visited Anvil campground and booked the apprentice cabin for 3 days and two nights, it only had 2 rooms but it had a lot in it, Queen size bed, small fridge, microwave,cable tv, 2 bunk beds, and cold a/c, and a small bar with 3 stools, We went on the hottest days of the year july 19-21st, 115 heat index temperatures but I can truly say the A/c in the cabin was perfect and never lost a beat. There was also a fire pit and a picnic table outside, the only thing that was a small issue was going to the bath house and taking a shower in the heat, there was no a/c in the bathrooms, but I must say the bathrooms were beautiful with granite tops and tiled showers, there is a small pool right beside the bath house as well, We felt very secure at the campground and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, we will definitely be staying there again and again and again.. I highly recommend them the best campground I have ever been to, 10 out of 10

Very comfortable unit with kitchen and private bath. Middle of all attractions yet far enough away to get that camping enjoyment.

The staff was so incredibly friendly and accommodating. The campground itself was well maintained and nicely done. We will definitely be returning guests!

We chose this campground cottage because we could take our dog with us and we had cooking facilities. Upon arrival, check-in was easy and quick. We were able to unload the truck quickly and get to the pool by 4pm. The only criticism we have is that the cottages, very close together, were also surrounded by common use areas. After meeting the occupants of the adjacent cottage, we decided to dine together and had to share our area with strangers using the basketball court. Another family thought they would like to play horseshoes, right beside our porch area, and brought their dog with them. Our dog was uncomfortable and barked and they left. As close as the quarters are to each other, one would think that the common areas would be more centrally located so that if people wanted to use the amenities with their pets, they do not disturb others staying at the campground.

Attended 'classroom training' a short drive away. Wife and sister amused themselves during the day at the Many local diversions. All out to eat in the evening (many many great places to choose from). Close to airport for sis's trip in/out from NC, not a bad drive for us to commute in one day from Connecticut. Also, had the pups with us, we enjoyed having them along, they were safe and comfortable. Thank you.

This room is a 600 sf cabin. The place was very clean, full kitchen, futon couch, OK bath. The strange is the it was advertised with a queen and two singles. The singles were camp cots. There were no linens for the extra beds, but they were available for rent?! This was not mentioned on hotels.com but were mentioned on the locations web site. We ended up buying our own sheets and took them with us.

Stayed in the Blacksmith Cottage

Staying at one of the cottages at Anvil Campground was better than any hotel experience I've ever had! The cottage was roomy, cool and even had cable and wifi! They were very pet friendly and the cottage was spotlessly clean! I will be staying here in the future for sure! The cottage could easily sleep 6 people and included a full kitchen and bathroom!
