If you want to experience a modernized historical property this is a good place. No TV, which was fine because we were there to hike, not sit in the room. It was odd that absolutely no staff seemed to be on the property Wednesday night through Thursday morning which was a little disconcerting. Also there was no dead bolt for the door. But it was clean and spacious. The restaurant Tuesday night provided a good meal.

Lovely location, clean and cozy. The antithesis of the generic roadside motel, the inn is charming and a bit of a throwback - in a really comfortable and homey sort of way. (e.g., no TV but a small common room equipped with books and games).

This place is a gem. It's throw back in time. Get the Partners Suite on the first floor for the best room in the house.

Great little gem to have a nice get away. Not far from trails, water and other small towns. No TV or radios in the room, great way to disconnect. You can always go downstairs and just talk and watch. Really thoughtful on the morning continental breakfast. Just a beautiful place to relax at.

Very cute inn built in 1879, so old but nice with all the amenities. Very clean room. Staff was lovely and dinner was good. All around nice stay.

We really enjoyed our two night stay. The place is uniquely charming - it combines some of the decor of a European alpine refuge with the quality of a great bed and breakfast . Needless to say - room and bathroom were squeaky clean. Excellent restaurant and super friendly staff!

The staff is sincere in their hospitality. The location is excellent for trips to view scenery. Their restaurant meal would match any metropolitan fancy experience. We arranged our Colorado trip specifically to spend two nights with this staff and this lodge

Loved the ambience of this Inn, which was built in 1879. One of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed. Owners and staff clearly take great pride in the product they deliver to guests. We will be back

Lovely get away for us! Historic hotel in a beautiful location. Rooms are very small, and the building is very old, but to us that was all part of the charm. Food was delicious !

My room was small with a low ceiling. The breakfast is more of a continental breakfast. Walls were very thin; we could hear the next door people coughing. Hotel rooms was clean. Bed was comfortable. Beautiful view.

We loved our stay at the Twin Lakes Inn. The building and environs were charming. The rustic decor brought me right back to my summer camp days. The hubby loved all the historical aspects. The customer service was top notch. The food in their restaurant was good. Lots of beautiful vistas in every direction, both from the car and along the nearby trails. We hope to return!

The ONLY bad thing was that the water temperature changed a bit in the shower when someone else flushed the toilet etc. What do you expect when the place was built in the 1800's? LOL...Awesome place with lots of character.

Historic hotel with lots of character, updated with today's amenities. Rooms are small- also noted in description - but well appointed with comfortabl bed. Bathrooms are shared as advertised but well stocked with all you'll need. Staff are super friendly. Good dinner menu well prepared. Setting is beautiful.

Have been returning to this gracious and beautiful spot for over two years now. This place, and this ambience is a treasure. Andy, the Gen. Mgr. is a joy, and as accomodating as he can be. My partner and I have grown to appreciate, and even love him as a friend.
If you've not blessed yourself with a stay at this lovely place... all I can say is sorry for yiur great loss.. and "shame on you" for not spoiling yourself! This is a true "rustic" irreplaceable find. You Will Not Be Disapponinted unless you're to stuffy to know what's good for you!

More like a hotel without a lot of amenities rather than what you would expect from a B & B. We chose to stay because it has a wonderful historical story. However, the building needs work such as evening out the floors which are all slanted. Staff was pleasant and breakfast was fine. The mattresses need to be replaced- soft and lumpy. The pillows were foam. Each room has enough room for a bed and dresser only. We had a private bath with a broken shower door but other rooms had to share a bathroom.
The restaurant was excellent and available 5-8 pm. The bar is open at 2 pm. and has the only tv available. There is a patio for sitting outside in nice weather but unfortunately it was too cool to sit out for very long. The lobby had a couch and there is a library that seats 4 people. Since there is 14 rooms, there is not enough seating for the clientele. We went to the library in Leadville when it started to rain.

This a lovely unique old-time hotel with the feel you are visiting someone's home. It has a wonderful restaurant with great food. We are on the enclosed porch overlooking the lake. The adjacent bar was like a small western saloon with TV set to watch the game. Patio outside. The bedrooms each had their own decor and name. The bathrooms were totally updated. They have done a wonderful job updating but keeping the feel of the 1879 hotel. We will definitely stay again. Next time we will make time to rent a kayak to take on the lake. If you are a hiker it is a the base of MT elbert. Staff was friendly and very attentive.
