It was a good stay. Cable didn’t work. Said they would call Shaw but never heard anything again about it. Otherwise it was good. Older man working front desk was amazing

The pool was supposed to be heated but it was colder than refrigerator water! The location was very good and convenient. And staff were very nice.

The ceiling fan in our room was falling down and unsafe to use which was unfortunate because it was hot weather and would’ve been useful. As well, the safety sign/firemap or whatever it is right beside the door was shattered glass and half missing - could’ve easily sliced a finger - needs to be replaced asap. Everything else was great and beds were comfy!

It was great after a long concert, however wish there was towels so we could shower.

Great location as close to the beach and restaurants. Could be cleaner a specially outdoor, to enjoy seating outside. Housekeepers were in rush to prep the suite, no toilet paper and forget collecting garbage in the kitchen. Otherwise they have amazing staff in the office and excellent customer service over the phone. I wish they had individual table outside of the suite or more seating “patio” outside. With full parking it is hard to find any space. I would come back again

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the property is quite run down but quaint and conveniently close to everything, the beach, activities and restaurants!

Room was dirty!! Blood stained pillow case on pillow,massive spider webs on ceiling fan chains, filthy blood stained unchanged sheets on hide a bed, all dishes dirty, ZERO toilet paper, no toiletries, cut finger nail on table

Great location across the beach, short walk on the Esplanade & atmosphere to peach festival music. Suite had kitchen & the pool. DID NOT LIKE- no toilet paper, no toiletries, no tea/coffee, spider webs on ceiling fan chains, blood stains on spare pillow & pillow case, dirty dishes in cupboard, blood stained filthy sheets in hide a bed

It was old And not well maintained

Was nice to have a full kitchen. They did have a toaster as well as a coffee maker I just wish that was listed so I didn’t bring my kettle. The bed was springy when u first climb in but didn’t feel them once laying down however every turn u made was uncomfortable and squeaked. The ac was soopppp loud I didn’t sleep the first night at all. Other than that great location and was clean. Oh also the sign in the cupboard said there would be a 25$ charge if we didn’t clean our own dishes which actually just grossed me out….im glad i pre washed the cup I used n the one spoon. Can’t trust others.

We were expecting that this place will give us satisfaction but to our dismay, manager at the office was making calls instead of checking in the people who are waiting for him… toilet dont have any toilet tissue, towels is worse than our rug at home… under beds are not just dusty but lots of garbage.. I like the place coz it is very near the beach, but i will never book any stay in this hotel again…

Basic motel, good location on beach. Had to ask twice for bedding for pull out couch bed and still didnt provide pillows then had to ask for them. But over all good hotel for beach with a full kitchen.

Definitely nothing fancy or outstanding about this property BUT for the value and location I’d stay here again!!

It’s a typical older Penticton motel. The staff are friendly & try their best with limited resources.

The location is the best things about this property. The bedroom seemed somewhat updated but the beds were uncomfortable and the bedding was old and not very nice. The towels were unraveling and old. The bathroom was incredibly small, had a broken towel bar and toilet holder so there was no where to set anything except on the back of the toilet. They say they are pet friendly but have no where on the property for the dogs to relieve themselves. The outside of the property is very dirty and run down. There was no way to secure the door from the inside of the room so anyone with a key could potentially open the door while we were asleep.

The room was not ready until 5:45

Not a good experience checking in at Golden Sands. We were able to access the room only at 7:30 pm because the inn lacks cleaning staff. The lady receptionist was not even apologenic and said she doesnt care.

Absolutely do not recommend staying here! Dirty, dirty, DIRTY! Stained sheets, face clothes made out of torn towels. We had to clean our feet off before getting into your rock solid beds. Had to ask for sheets and towels. Showers will randomly go burning hot or ice cold. People doing drugs outside our room. Cobwebs everywhere! Stairs going up to our room are not sturdy. Dirty couch. Other peoples hair on our pillows and sheets.

Great location across from beach but that really is the only redeeming thing about this property. It is quite dilapidated in the rooms and outside. Our room was not ready at 4pm when we arrived so they hurried to complete it. It was poorly cleaned. Floor was sandy and dirty. Bedside table had food crumbs. We paid way too much to stay at the Golden Sands given it’s condition.

Run down and not clean. Location is great though and once we cleaned it (a lot ourselves) we made it work ok.

The property is terrible ... flowers e.g. rose bushes left to die etc. grassed areas not cut. Parking lot dirty. second floor balconies very dirty and not enough room to walk because lawn chairs are outside of rooms. Painting was happening but paint wont cover the deficiencies.

Stayed at this motel for 5 days. Check out went horrible. Got a keys from a dirty room. Waited outside for 1 hour for elderly front desk employee to clean room. I really feel bad for him. 2 cleaners didn’t show up and it was his responsibility to clean rooms instead and being at the front office at the same time. He tried at his best ability to clean floors with dirty water. I wanted to cry. Came all the way from Vancouver and after long drive instead of relaxing I need it to clean room. Nails all over the floor and side table in living room. The most disgusting thing I have ever seen. Went to get disinfecting wipes to clean it. Stayed in this room for 4 days, on a fifth day needed to change the room because the way hotel.com booked my stay instead of staying all 5 nights they booked 4 nights in 1 room and a last night at the new room. Got keys from new room and what a pleasant surprise. We got very clean room. Everything was up to standards . Clean, fresh bedding, towels, shampoos and coffee & tea. This showed guys you can do it proper way. What happened with my first room unacceptable! Guest not supposed to clean floors, change bedding and towels in order to check in into room.

Great, bike friendly place to stay. The people there are super friendly. Lots of room, dishes, good microwave, good fridge, good wifi, pretty much everything you need. Its not a new/shiny 5 start hotel and there is a few minor things I would spend a day and fix it up that would go a long way but in the end, its the only place in Penticton I ever go to as it fits my needs perfectly.

The location was great. It's across from the beach and near many restaurants. We (a family of 4) stayed at the 1bedroom with kitchen and here are the issues with that room. 1) the smoke detector was detached and broken 2) the shower head was terrible, splashed everywhere but the person under it 3) the sofa bed was the worst I have ever slept on, the mattress with the hard coils needs to be replaced immediately! 4) the outdoor pool was nice but the water was freezing cold and lots of bugs were floating 5) the fan in the living room made lots of noise and it looked like it's going to fall any time In short, a great location but a terrible room.

Very dirty. There was urine stains and dried buggers on towels. Air conditioner was super loud. Toilet was clogged.

Unit was clean but could use a refresh. Office not manned continuously, had to wait for someone to show up to check out delaying my departure.
