Hotel was perfect only one issue the use of plastic glasses I understand it’s a football match and safety is paramount
But 3 hours after and as a guest in the hotel I was served a glass of not cheap wine in a plastic pint glass
I did ask a reception and was told I couldn’t have one have you ever drunk red wine out of plastic pint glass not good hence I left it

Great value hotel, close to city centre. Rooms are lovely, large, and so comfortable. Breakfast on the expensive side, but good choice. This is maybe my 5th visit here, never have any issues. Friendly reception staff too!

The hotel itself is clean and modern, however, the beds were probably the most uncomfortable I have experienced in any hotel. You could hear the mattress springs popping as you turned! The pillows were thin, as was the duvet, and the linen wasn't what I have come to expect in a Hilton Hotel. We stayed for 2 nights and sadly didnt sleep well on either of them.
Breakfast is great, plenty of choice.
Staff are also friendly and helpful.

I had booked 2 rooms as my Husband & I were treating our Son & his partner to a weekend away and to see SAFC in action!
Unfortunately our Son took very poorly at 3am on the morning we were due to drive to Sunderland - there was no way he could travel or even leave the house!
I called Hilton Garden Inn at 7am, just before my Husband & I were setting off on the 5 hour drive, and I spoke to Christopher, Guest Relations Manager who was just wonderful.
He knew I was upset & disappointed about our weekend plans being altered due to illness and he cancelled the 2nd room I had booked for my Son free of charge - this was SO appreciated and lessened the stress & upset so much!
On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by Christopher as well as Charlotte on Reception and when we checked in we were told we had complimentary breakfast added to our booking for the two nights!
Again we were so surprised and extremely appreciative.
Our stay overall was fabulous - the room, the view (we asked for a stadium view room), the Karbon Grill restaurant - but mostly the wonderful staff!
We could not have been better looked after and will be back for another stay soon - hopefully with our family onboard too!

We stayed overnight whilst working nearby. Downstairs is very well decorated and attractive. The bedroom was a decent size with a good bathroom. The sleep quality not so good. Uncomfortable slightly lumpy bed. Lumpy pillows.

I do not usually reply to these… Breakfast was chaotic and disappointing.
The room service meal on day1 of pork chops and chips was cold and took 50 mins to arrive
For some reason the reception logged my room as an early check out so on day 2 my room was not serviced and on day 3 check out I was requested to pay an early checkout fee despite paying my full balance on check in. I was told the issue was that a colleague had told them I had left early but all my colleagues checked out with me at the same time. They said it would be resolved and I would receive my correct invoice by email but I had to call the accounts dept direct to resolve this. The invoice is still not accurate but the amount I can claim back is. I have no idea why this was recorded as I had my key card the whole time and did not leave early.
This is the 3rd time on business at the hotel but would avoid in future.

Not a normal classy Hilton, hole in the roof outside our room, £211 for a very small queen room, when we got there we couldn’t eat or drink as there was loads of Sunderland’s fans that had taken over the hotel couldn’t even sit down anywhere except our bed in our room, didn’t include breakfast and from past experience staying in a double room was bigger than a queen. Complete rip off

Fantastic hotel. So clean and tidy. Comfy beds. Giant TV screen. Crabtree and Evelyn products in bathrooms. My only complaint is the duvets were too thin for Autumn and I was cold in the night. Tried to put heating on but didn't work.

The room was nice and shower over bath was nice and powerful. Very clean . We arrived too late to use room service as that stopped at 930. However breakfast was good with good selection .
Only issue was our room had interconnecting doors and we could hear the children being rather noisy through the doors .Overall lovely stay.

Very poor quality beds, you can feel every spring in the mattress and the quilt is so thin. The room smelt of foist. I didn’t have breakfast but my friends did and they had to wait for quite a while for the food to be replenished. The cheese station was empty and not topped up. The juice machine was broken. The shower in the room had great pressure and was very hot and complimentary shower gel and shampoo/conditioner which was good. I told the man on the desk about the mattress and he said it just needed flipping but it needs binning and a new one installed. The carpet was shabby and had bits missing. I expected better for a Hilton.

Really nice and clean with lovely restaurant and bar area. Good selection of food and beer. Room was large with decent bed, pillows were a bit flat. Wish they would make up the rooms daily but not the worst thing ever, that would be my only complaint really.
Close to whatever you would need in Sunderland. Just an Uber away.

A nice hotel. Room was clean. Good location. Tea & coffee in the room was very basic and cheap brands. Breakfast was ok. As a vegan options very limited in comparison to other Hilton hotels. No dairy free yogurts, no veggie sausages, unable to have coffee as the machine contains milk. They did have soya, oat & coconut alpro barista milk and some cereals, toast & jam. If breakfast was better the hotel would have got 5 stars from me. Hope they improve it. Staff friendly.

Hotel and services were great. My only complaint was that i found the mattress very hard and the pillows were very soft, could have done with being somewhere in between as i struggled to sleep, other than that a lovely hotel and staff

Excellent two night stay. Friendly and professional staff, at reception and in bar. Food and drink very good. Room- spacious, twin bedded, contemporary-clean and fresh, linen,towels and bathroom with large shower all very nice. Parking on site and free for guests.

It’s a lovely hotel, my room was absolutely boiling and the aircon was a bit lacking but overall a very nice hotel and a great price for the location.

This hotel was a gem, close enough to walk to all the city center amenities, pubs, clubs and shops, and the metro station a stones throw away.
We were glad we picked it, and would highly recommend it to friends and family

Ovrall I enjoyed my stay but I would recomand for breakfast to have option for vegetarian and also fried or boiled egss.
