Very friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Beautiful, clean and great hotel

Just a short walk up the hill from the center of old town, right below the Roman theaters. This hotel was 5 star all the way. In particular the concierge gave us top recommendations for sight seeing and restaurants.
Our room had a view of the picturesque and tranquil gardens of the courtyard which was amazing to sit on our balcony each morning and have coffee.

Had a great stay. Uniquely located property 2 mins walk from fernicular and the medieval side of lyon. Wonderful staff - attentive and prompt bellman/valet, great concierge who gave us a great quick layout of where to go and what to do

The hotel is located at the top of a hill, and the views are stunning!! The rooms are lovely and very clean and bright.
The staff are all outstanding. Every single staff member we encountered was excellent. The concierge made dinner reservations for us on two of the nights we stayed, and his recommended restaurants were incredibly good!! He definitely knows where to find the best meals so absolutely go with his advice on where to eat! The balcony was large and inviting with a great view. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved this beautiful boutique hotel! From the first minute we stepped into it we felt pampered. Our room was facing a serene garden and had a huge balcony where we could relax after a day of sightseeing or enjoy a wonderful meal from the room service. The staff was exceptional - everyone at the reception, the room service and especially the concierge did their utmost to make our stay comfortable. The concierge was very knowledgeable about the restaurants and other sights in Lyon and made sure that we got the best experience. The hotel amenities and ambiance were amazing! In our travels we’ve discovered that not all the 5 star hotels deserve their ratings. Villa Maia truly deserves it and more! We highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again in the future.

Great, friendly service by the Concierge and Reception. Lovely view over Vieux Lyon. Rooms and bathrooms are a little small and could benefit from a deep cleaning/recaulking in bathroom.

The hotel is quite modern with a lovely view of Lyon. Our room was very large with a king size bed, a desk, several chairs and a table. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We did not eat in the restaurants but ordered coffee in the room and they were kind enough to include some croissants one day and mini pancakes the next. There are many restaurants nearby in Vieux Lyon but you will want good walking shoes for the steep hill or stairs. There are Roman ruins and the basilica very close by. We did not try the pool or gym as we were too busy but I wish we had.

Great staff! Beautiful location (walking up is a pain but worth it for the view). The hotel itself is a little lacking of atmosphere somehow, could t put my finger on it. A bit expensive for what it is.

Lovely property, centrally located 10 minute walk to the old town. Rooms are spacious, nice linens, very comfortable. Lyon is hot in the summer, therefore an outdoor pool and in-property spa would have been an added comfort, however this is hard to find in Lyon. Staff were exceptionally welcoming and kind.

Outstanding in every way. Modern new hotel with gracious old world service. Large comfortable rooms with super comfy beds. Gorgeous bathrooms. Taxi needed to get to many areas of the city. Just around the corner from the Roman ruins. City views are spectacular.

This elegant, modern, and beautifully decorated small hotel is located in a quiet location with extraordinary views of the city. A five minute walk past Roman ruins leads to a fun three minute ride on the funicular taking you up to one of the most magnificent cathedrals in all of Europe or down to the heart of the city. After a full day whether as a tourist or on business, the hotel’s luxury spa and acclaimed restaurant await you.

Villa Maia is high in the hills of Lyon. It has an amazing view and is a beautiful new more modern hotel. The customer service is impeccable. We had an issue with one person but it was her own lack of generosity during the Women's World Cup events taking place at the hotel. No biggie. The amenities and rest of the staff were remarkable. Room service and food were delicious. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. Our room had a view of the river from our wonderful deck. The spa area is very small and mainly a space to pass through to the pool. The breakfast options are the best in the city for what is offered. The pool is indoors with an understated comfort zen like feel and the room amenities are generous and fun.

Beautiful property, but incredibly staff, who made out stay absolutely wonderful!

On the plus side. The rooms are very nice (we stayed in three different ones) and the city view is breathtaking, but also garden view is nice. The pool is nice and the breakfast excellent. Friendly staff. I would stay here again, but never during a hot period. The AC system was absolutely sub par with temperatures in our room(s) going up to 29,6°C (85.3°F). In their defence it was during a a terrible heat wave with temperatures reaching 41°C outside, but compared with all restaurants, stores and even other hotels we visited the same week no one had problems even close to this magnitude. This unfortunately took most of the fun out of staying in this hotel. As compensation one night, out of four booked, was offered for free. We moved between three rooms and in the end lost our city view (as those rooms were hotter), but were still charged for the original city view. In short: Great hotel, but terrible on a hot day.

Amazing caring and professional staff and beautiful property.

The property is a bit out of the way. It is a long walk down a steep hill to the old town. The staff at recption were rude. When we arrived some pushy guests pushed in front of us at recption and kept all four staff occupied while we stood and waited. Pity. The staff were too busy with other important guests. The rooms are large and modern. Breakfast was ok. Do not order room service, they mains are heated up pre prepared meals. Shame.

The staff were extremely helpful and could do enough to help. Unfortunately, the qulity of the food for room service left little to be desired which was a real shame and let down.

The hotel location is very good, it's a walking distance to the old town and the city center. Our room was spacious, with a balcony and a fantastic view of Lyon.
The staff was incredible, very polite and helpful in every way, the breakfast was good. We have no complains, highly recommended.
There is a Michelin restaurant one step away, which is one more plus.
Thanks again to the great stuff!
