Best kept secret! I wouldn’t have known about this place if I hadn’t drove by into Yosemite. I decided to extend my stay and stayed here. It was as if I had been transported to the south of France. Breakfast was superb. The restaurant has a world class tasting menu. The service was impeccable. The best massage at the spa after a week of hiking. My stay was better than the Ritz Carlton.

I believe in 20 years this is the first time I bothered to submit a review. This destination is a hidden gem, far worth the investment to stay. It is like a trip to the past and you feel as if you are not in the US but in France or similar European countries. What ended up as one night to try will end up us purposely planning a trip in this area just to stay here for an extended weekend. Highly recommend it, romantic, quiet, and breath taking.

Magical experience. My friend and I stayed for my birthday and we could not have had better service or accomodations. The staff were attentive, the setting beautiful, the room, and the chateau itself were wonderfully and perfectly appointed. We felt as though we were in a fairy tale! Dining at the restaurant is a must, and I highly recommend the wine pairing. Also, breakfast was excellently prepared. We walked the grounds and enjoyed all of the little decor surprises along the paths.

First class place with wonderful employees. Disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Sundays as it is fabulous.

Amazing stay from start to finish. The attention to detail, the staff awareness of who we were, which room we were staying in, that we were there on our honeymoon. Everyone knew, without us having to say anything. The staff made little details during our stay to make it extra special, superb all around. Food at the fine dining restaurant and also the breakfast, was absolutely exceptional. Already looking forward to returning next year!

Wonderful relaxing few days celebrating my wife's birthday. Attentive but unobtrusive staff made everything easy and met all our needs. The food at the adjacent Elderberry House for dinner and in the breakfast room in the morning was outstanding. And we enjoyed a full day in nearby Yosemite Nat'l Park.

I'd compare my Chateau du Sureau night to a Porsche 911 with a Ford Fiat engine. Very elegant and full of potential but the attention to detail and service falls far from the graces of a 5 star hotel. We arrived, opened our own car doors, carried our own luggage but our experience felt redeemed when the hostess, Rani Grube said there were small gifts in our room as a welcome. Among the gifts was a gift card for dinner, only to have Rani return to our room and say it was placed in the wrong room... It was the absolute worst 1st impression of the Chateau du Sureau you could have experienced. To make matters worse, I tired to reason with Rani and explained how we felt, having traveled 2,000 miles just to stay at the Chateau, having spent over 1k for the room and dinner, only to have horrid 20 year, wedding anniversary memory. Rani is NOT classy, she proceeded to argue with me and ranted on how they are short staffed due to covid. I allowed her to ramble on and once she finished I tried to make a reasonable case only to have her shut me down again. Not only does Rani NOT understand the American culture and rules for customer satisfaction, but she does not posses the basics of hospitality – not an iota. I would add that the food was AMAZING! Hats off to the chef.

The Chateau de Sureau is a hidden gem in the small town of Oakhurst, quite a surprise to find this enchanting hotel with the privacy and level of service. I was in Oakhurst for business for 2 nights and decided to treat myself while working. The staff is exemplary in their service to guests, and knowing COVID 19 restricts some services ( the spa is not open) there was nothing I missed. After being given a brief tour and walked to my room, I asked for some coffee as I unpacked. Within minutes a wonderful small pot of coffee was brought to my room. I chose to dine in my room as I had work with me and again I was not disappointed. There is no TV, it is a place to unplug. The only challenge was the low level of internet and I used my phone as a hotspot as I needed to work on my computer in the evening. I look forward to a return trip while I have an Oakhurst account and look forward to using their spa services when open.

My stay at Chateau de Sureau was wonderful. I happened to visit Yosemite at the time of the wildfires so the air quality of the park was not great but I was glad that I went. What can I say I like luxury accomodations and the Chateau is it! My room was clean, spacias, quiet and having a provided breakfast each morning of my stay and a fabulous restaurant on the grounds made my visit quite memorable. I will return!

Beautiful property and great service. The bed linens are amazing. The mattress was not as comfortable as I remember from my last stay 5 years ago. We had an issue with the tub stopper in the spa tub/shower. I relayed my issues upon check out. It would be best to replace the spa tub/stopper due to the cleanliness issues. Other than that our stay was very nice and I hope to be back soon. Dinner was also wonderful and accommodating to dietary restrictions.
