The landscape

The view surrounding the hotel is amazing and the main reason why we picked the hotel. The rooms are quite big. And if you have a room with a balcony it's even better. The hotel has a restaurant which serves really good food. The personal was very nice. We had a problem with our room and they quickly fixed it. In front of the hotel there are multiple benches where can sit and admire the view. But I recommend the rocking chair which is very relaxing.

A mini-fridge in the room would've been nice.

Poor sound isolation between the rooms; we could hear all night the noise made by the guest from next room.

The Gasthof Urzn is well run and in an absolutely spectacular setting. The views of lake and mountains are breathtaking. The staff was efficient and friendly, but hurried you along at times in the restaurant so they could close up and go home. Of course it was a weekend when I stayed there, so they were quite busy.

Food served in the restaurant in the adjacent building was fine, with very generous portions, but a bit tediously the same after two or three days. The dinner menu was pretty limited, and the wait staff hurried you along before you were ready to go. To get to any other dining options was not really convenient or realistic, as the Urzn is up switchbacks on the crest of a ridge, and you wouldn't want to drive the ten minutes down the curves to town after dark to find culinary alternatives.

Very comfortable

Above all else, the location was superb. The hotel is on a high hill, overlooking the valley of Traunsee. The mountains were extraordinary. The room itself was lovely, clean, and spacious. The food was excellent, and the price was fantastic.

The staff seemed unhappy with me. At many instances I thought I was being glared at for some reason. I felt unwelcome, especially during dinner. In fairness, they might have simply been very busy.

Location excellent, friendly staff, great value for money and good food and breakfast

The view from my room was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked the room a lot. It was nice and clean. I liked the bed, the balcony. The surrounding is great with some nice benches to enjoy the views.

The breakfast was not the richest, but sufficient. I would appreciate more parking spots close to the house. (*There is a big parking lot by the restaurant but few more spots dedicated to guests with accomodation closer to the house would be appreciated.)

Noise from neighboring room

Best value for money, at a location having the best view of Traunsee. The food at restaurant is very good too.
