We chose Bellla Villa Messina for a 'big' anniversary getaway and couldn't be happier! Owner Jerry creates a warm, welcoming environment that made us feel like family by the time we left (and he serves a damn good breakfast too). As first-time Sonoma visitors, Jerry enthusiastically offered fantastic advice for our 3-day itinerary, which led to a thoroughly memorable trip - complete with boutique wineries, 5-star restaurants, and dive joints that blew us away. The room and inn itself were lovely. The common areas offer stunning views of the surrounding hills, while our room was a welcome romantic retreat after event-filled days. Bella Villa Messina is located just outside the very cool town of Healdsburg, within a short drive of the major wine producing regions of Dry Creek, Alexander, and Russian River Valleys. On Jerry's advice, we took a 1/2 day break from the wineries to hike among the redwoods & drive the rugged coast down to Bodega Bay - the experience was an unexpected highlight of our trip. We'll be back!

This was a wonderful place to stay- the rooms were beautifully and uniquely decorated. The breakfast was excellent with lots of local fresh fruit and homemade frittata one day, brioche French toast and scrambled eggs with bacon. We especially enjoyed the evenings with different wines and a nice selection of cheese and crackers. The host Jerry was very attentive and fun with lots of stories and a wealth of useful information on local wineries and restaurants. We will be back for a future vacation.

Jerry and Esther (the hosts) were wonderful. Super informative and friendly. Our room was spotless and breakfast was very fresh and delicious. Would absolutely stay there again.

Nice area, Jerry was under the weather with a bad back but Bill filled in and everything was enjoyable.

The property was nothing short of elegant. Absolutely beautiful. The host was enjoyable, funny, witty and cooked beautiful breakfasts. Afternoon cocktails were perfect and accompanied with beautiful daily cheeses. Jerry's restaurant and winery recommendations were perfect. We did not have a bad or average meal during our 3 day stay. Finally, our bed was the most comfortable bed either my husband or I have ever slept in. Beautiful stay.

We had a very comfortable, congenial stay at Jerry's place and he was charming and a wealth of information! Old Tuscan feel with a fabulous breakfast each morning and lovely wine and cheese tasting in the evening. Highly recommend this B&B if you love to meet and talk with folks a lot. The pool was quite odd but the terrace was very large, well appointed and had lovely views. It was just as Jerry described: "Southern hospitality, with European charm and California wine and weather". We will be back!

My wife and I celebrated my birthday at Bella Villa Messina with a two-night visit. We stayed in the Saki Room, a corner bedroom with a fantastic view of the vineyards and rolling hills, from which we were able to see magnificent sunrises. Our host, Jerry, was simply terrific. Having lived in Healdsburg a long time, he seems to know everyone to everything. He serves wine and cheese every afternoon and shares his knowledge of and love for the community. His recommendations for what to order at the restaurants where we went for our dinners were spot on. Having two friendly dogs in the house and a pair of llamas in the yard added a special touch. We shall return.

The room was amazing. Great location close to town. And Jerry is a gem. It's the perfect get away place.

We love staying here! This truly is the best B&B we’ve ever been to! The hosts are amazingly present and helpful! Jerry will help you plan out your day if needed and has a wealth of knowledge about everything in the area! Oh ya he make a great home made breakfast for you every morning too!
