This "resort" is set on a beautiful parcel of land. That's the good news. The lodge where we were put is in need of a complete overhaul. Nothing in the room except for a bed and a desk with two side tables. No easy chair or table. Electrical outlets coming out of the walls in both the room and in the public hallway. A/C unit non-effective and very loud. Mold and dirt in the bathroom.and one of our shower controls completely came apart day 1. There was never anybody at reception - there was a sign with a phone number to call to get someone to come. All this and the fact they charge an additional $15 per night resort fee make me say never again. Beware.

Property was very nice. However, we reported that there was a bad odor coming from our mattress.

Our stay was average. Lovely location, older facility. Room with two double beds was rather tight. Bathroom needs upgrading. Young lady at check in was very gracious and helpful.

My husband and I spent one night at the Apple Tree after attending a concert at Tanglewood. The property abuts a Tanglewood parking lot which made it extremely convenient. That convenience was why we chose this property. Our room was in the lodge which was clean but seedy - old carpet, peeling paint in the bathroom, dated bathroom fixtures. The room itself was just big enough for the queen size bed. A enjoyable complementary breakfast in the main building was included. It offered fresh fruit, homemade granola, bagels and muffins, hard boiled eggs, etc. The inn boasts a lovely windowed breakfast room and outside deck overlooking the wooded grounds. Unfortunately the large German shepherd that lives on the property is allowed to roam the breakfast area and put its nose on each diners table sniffing for food.

This was a charming historic hotel that we enjoyed as basecamp while exploring the Berkshires. If you're attending a show at Tanglewood, it's directly across the street and walkable, the location would be perfect. We were not seeing a show and I feel the price tag would have justified the convenience if we were. The room itself was lovely. If you're OK with older B&B's then you will know what to expect. There is definitely work that can be done on the place but we actively wanted to stay somewhere historic. The bar room was so fun and food impressive. Such a great vibe. No AC in there but loved it. Breakfast was laughable. Continental breakfast. Hardboiled eggs, fruit, english muffins, Costco pastries, and yogurt. No iced coffee or oat milk (fine but for the cost of the rooms, you might expect this as an option). Courtyard Marriots have better offerings for hot breakfast. This was WHY we booked a bed and breakfast over an AirBnb and was completely disappointed.

Perfect spot if you’re going to Tanglewood, great to not have to deal with driving! Very clean fantastic staff. Best Continental breakfast I’ve ever had. All homemade and fantastic. Could use some updating, but would absolutely stay again.

What a special place! The staff are very friendly, there are nice amenities, and a cute bar. Easy walk to Tanglewood-can’t wait to return!

The pool was great!!

This is not a luxury hotel. What it is, is a quaint New England Inn, that is comfortable, clean and with a staff that goes out of their way to help you with whatever you need. If you are heading to Tanglewood this is the place. I walked to Tanglewood and was there in 5 minutes. Apple Tree Inn is my go to place whenever I'm in the area.

One of the greatest hotel experiences I have had so far…and we have stayed at alot of hotels! From beginning to end our experience was flawless. Front desk was helpful, room was beautiful, bed comfortable…there was even a hotel dog (Hi Max 🙂)!!! The grounds are gorgeous and if you’re looking for a nice, quiet getaway, Appletree is your best choice!

We loved the convenient location to Lenox-Stockbridge-Lee and environs, the quiet atmosphere (no TV in the room!!! yay!!!), the gracious 19th C. porch with gorgeous views which stayed cool enough for sitting down to breakfast even in the unusual heat of July 2024. Our room was very simple, the bed/mattress very comfortable. If you like old-school Berkshire hotels where it's about tranquility and the environment, this is for you.

We enjoyed our stay! The pool and the breakfast were our favorite parts! Quiet and clean and close to Lenox. A gem of a spot!

Beautiful setting in easy walking distance to Tanglewood. Spacious rooms and lovely sitting area with board games and books available to relax with. The pool was a nice bonus. Staff was friendly and attentive.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Good food and drinks available in the Ostrich Room, and then an easy walk to Tanglewood. Our room in The Lodge was clean and comfortable. All the staff were helpful and friendly, and the common areas were pleasant with good amenities and a beautiful view from the dining areas.

Lovely B&B! Absolutely wonderful little spot tucked away on a hillside. The B&B was charming, a little dated although that is part of the charm. Beautiful outdoor area for breakfast, cozy common room.

It was a lovely little place! Room was not overly fancy, but was very comfortable and clean. Best of all, we were within walking distance of Tanglewood!!! Amazing. And breakfast on the patio was super nice. Definitely recommend!

Claire is the new owner. She’s bright, attentive and she lives on the property, so can quickly be available. She went above and beyond to help us during our stay. The bar area was rich and historic with a top-notch bartender, Giovanna! She hustles and knows her cocktails. The property had much beauty and character.

Amazing location super close to Tanglewood! The Apple Tree is a former mansion home and estate now a boutique hotel in a posh Berkshire location. The huge front porch is well shaded for the included breakfast and coffee. The hotel has a small bar and dinner only restaurant on the weekends. Most of the guests are concert goers which make for great conversations. BTW: Tanglewood music can be heard from the front porch or the many outside chairs. The new owner is very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend the Apple Tree for a concert or Berkshire vacation stay.

Lovely property located within walking distance to Tanglewood. Checkin was super easy and room was very comfortable. Enjoyed dinner and drinks in the Tavern before the show. Would definitely return. Wonderful staff.

A unique gem with charm and character. Our room was spotless with thoughtful touches like thirsty pool towels and well air conditioned in the high heat upon arrival. The staff was kind and helpful. Our dinner was delicious and memorable, well done chef! Thank you for a delightful visit.
