Lovely hotel but expensive.

I thought I was in for a treat based on the referral, but this hotel is a total dud! The rooms are subpar and the area is sketchy. I asked a young lady working in the cafe if the area was safe and she said I shouldn't go past the stop sign to the right of the hotel, like I'm in some kind of Jamaican horror movie or something 😂😂😂. And don't even get me started on their overpriced breakfast buffet. I was expecting some delicious Jamaican dishes, but all they had Jamaican, was fried dumplings and stew chicken. Who eats stew chicken for breakfast?! These hotels are so Americanized, it's like they're trying to keep the real Jamaican culture from the tourists. I mean they eat eggs, bacon, hash browns, French toast everyday in their country. Give them the real Jamaican cuisine!! I’ll stay in New Kingston, if I ever have to go that way again.

everything was great my only complaint i had was i figured that since the hotel lost my vehicle on my previous stay i would have gotten complimentary parking, but its kool !

It’s my second time there and I must say I’m impressed again. It was quite central, convenient and very relaxing. It’s a good get away either you are from around town or out of town …

Rooms were clean and provided main necessities. Well light and air conditioned which the kids, my husband and myself throughly enjoyed. Lobby, hallways and elevator kept neat and tidy. Kids and I enjoyed cultural atmosphere of the rooms and lobby. Staff were friendly and professional wearing clean neat attire. House keeping came early and were always respectful. Parking was decent. Hotel stay was good. My room was more suitablefor business travelers not family. . Restaurant food and cocktails were good. Would not recommend buying breakfast separate. Across the street from the hotel is a nice seafood restaurant, devon house ice-cream and cibc bank. Within walking distance is kfc, juici beef and market. Area is remote from major attractions so expect to commute and note Hotel taxi is expensive.

Classy downtown location with great sea views. Staff appear to be well trained and professional. Food is great. Really pleasant experience. I will return.

Nice hotel

Property is well maintained, modern and clean. Staff was friendly but needs to be trained in good customer service. At the very least honor their responsibilities as a business in the hospitality industry. My daughter and grandson (6yrs) recently spent one night there as she was in-transit to another destination. Their flight got in mid morning and they got to ROK close to midday to which they were greeted by pleasant staff but was told they had to wait in the lobby until checkin at 3pm. I understand and can appreciate rooms not being available right away, however, at the very least they could have offered for them to use the amenities (the pool) especially because she had her young son with her. Not only did they not offer any other options (maybe make recommendations for tourist attractions) besides wait in the lobby, they had to wait ONE HOUR more and was met with excuses… They were in the front desks line of sight for hours, baby sleeping in the lobby and their room was not made a priority/ ready for 3pm. As a hotel carrying the “by Hilton” brand I expected better and would advise management to do better when it comes to training employees to uphold a higher standard! It’s sad that employees recognised that it was unacceptable but didn’t think to do better. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from staying but I encourage management and team to do better! It’s sad when a low standard is expected because it’s Jamaica. Dare to be different ROK

Staff were great and good location for business in Kingston, plus good food options in walking distance

Noisy to the extent were I had to request a room relocation, even after the new room noise was still there, fire alarm in the room was also malfunctioning and the light was blinking in 5 min increment so sleep was not a option, I will not recommend or stay at the property again.
