Quiet clean. We got the river view room facing west. Seen sun set over the ridge. They don’t clean the room everyday and staff is short. We bump into the lady to ask extra towels. Swimming pool is cold.

We came up last minute to river raft. Juanita checked us in and out and she was super helpful, friendly, definitely a local to the area, and sent me text messages ahead of time to welcome me and get me settled if she wasn’t in the office after 6pm.
Our back room door was locked shut with a screwdriver and the bathtub didn’t work. But we had enough beds to sleep and a shower and a microwave and small college dorm size fridge and that was plenty for the two days we were there. It’s three minutes away from Sierra south river rafting expedition’s, and restaurants. Has a nice pool and a trail to walk down to the river. We will be coming back next year and would stay here again.

We just stayed for one night along our journey up north. The room was clean and well maintained. The pool looked clean and inviting, but we didn't swim in it. The property has a nice, lodge feel to it. Everything was operable in the room, my only complaint was the room clearly hasn't been updated since the 80s. So the mattress was less than supportive, the wall A/C was noisy and barely adequate, the common areas were not maintained; the planters were overgrown with weeds. . . but all in all, the room was quiet and functional and it satisfied my (not the wife's) needs. Management was very nice to work with.

The property is lovely. But we booked the room for three, myself and two children aged 8 and 11.
Was told the couch pulled out to a bed. It did not. It s just a couch. And then at 9;00pm we realized there was no extra blankets or bedding for them to use. The office was closed. So I pulled the one blanket/bedspread off my bed had and gave it to the kids. Which left me using a bath towel as a blanket for warmth. Also bed was really hard. So terrible nights sleep for all of us. :(

We loved Whispering Pines. It's a great place to stay. The room has plenty of space, the bathroom was really big. The view we had of the hills from our balcony was wonderful. The staff were really friendly. We couldn't find any faults at all. It's a little gem in the area

Absolutely magical place with beautiful acreage and mystical paths to creeks and rivers. Giant boulder out croppings scatter throughout the property. Can't wait to come back. Our Jack Russell absolutely loved it too

I loved the old fashioned antiques. I loved the fireplace! It was an old property but I liked how they made it so cozy & warm. We were very comfy but the bed was super old & my back ached. Decorations & quiet & nice location made up for it! I’d stay here again but there was no breakfast & it’s more expensive than usual motels.

Friendly greeting from host upon arrival. Room was clean. View from the balcony overlooking the river was beautiful and the stars at night were incredible. Parking can be a little tight when the hotel is full, but it's minor and I'd still highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Kernville.
