My family of 15 had a great week long stay at the Dirty Dancing Lodge. The house looked exactly like the photos and was clean and well maintained. It is laid out nicely with both upstairs and downstairs living areas that included a nice game room. The house has a very roomy laundry room with a washer and two driers. It had all of the basic things we needed. When we found we were short of towels the caretaker came immediately to supply them. She also answered my texts quickly and was very helpful and informative before and during our stay. The kitchen and garage offered lots of refrigerator and freezer space. Unfortunately, there was no pantry for food item storage, so cereal boxes, chips and canned goods all stayed on the counters for the week. While the beds were very comfortable, three of the bedrooms were so filled with beds it was difficult to reach closets, fully open dresser drawers, or walk around the beds. The outside area was beautiful and offered many decks and seating areas. The hot tub located on the upper deck showed stress and buckling of the decking material, so we chose not to use it for safety reasons and kept away. We asked the caretaker about it and she assured us that it had been assessed by engineers, however that did little to reassure us as the warped decking and railings told another story. However, the Rumbling Bald community had lots offer our kids - mini-golf, the lake, lazy river, pools, so they didn’t mind. Overall, it was a great week.

We had 12 family members (from 16 to 85 yrs old) stay a week at the Dirty Dancing lodge and everyone loved it! The house is spacious, well-maintained, beds & seating are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you’ll need. Fun game room on the lower level to keep kids (& dads) entertained. Great communication and friendliness by the property manager. Awesome location in Rumbling Bald and the views from the back deck are great. We’ll be back!

We selected this home because it was large enough to accommodate a large family gathering. The house is nestled in the trees and has a breath taking view of the mountains. We loved our morning coffee on the deck and enjoyed watching the birds. We had some very special guests visit… a mamma bear and one cub. This was a highlight of our vacation.

This house was perfect for our Lake Lure vacation! Our ages ranged from 70 to 1….its hard to find a house allowing naps during the day and chatty family members at night, but this was perfect. The View! Both upstairs bedroom suites had stunning mountain and golf course views as did the living area and back deck. The house itself is well equipped in the kitchen, the beds are comfy and the air conditioning worked perfectly in 90 degree heat. But I can’t say enough good things about Scott, the property manager! He and his wife live right down the street and went above and beyond helping us enjoy our visit. They picked up our garbage (the resort is mindful of bears…never saw one.), offered tips and made sure we had no issues. If you have a family and want to visit Rumbling Bald and all the resort has to offer, STAY HERE!

This beautiful property was spacious and delightful. We enjoyed every moment, inside and outside and never felt as though we were hovering over each other. The only issues we had were that the hot tub placement on the upper deck looked precarious, so we didn't use it. The wonderful home seems to have a bit of a moisture issue that revealed itself throughout the week. It would not prevent us from renting this home again. We appreciated having such a spacious garage, which included an extra refrigerator and standing freezer. Also appreciated was the flat extra parking at the side of the house. Communication with the owner/manager was open and always helpful.

This is a beautiful home. Well equipped, beautiful location and the host was the most helpful we have ever experienced. Many helpful tips and recommendations. So appreciative of the prompt responses to our questions. Highly recommend!
