Very helpfull and kind

Sambuca is a wonderful and vibrant small town, it has a lot going on. Plenty shops bars and restaurants, which is unexpected for it's size. You will meet people from all over the world here. Some choose to buy a place here and it's easy to see why. The people whom live here couldn't be friendlier or more helpful but in my experience, this is quite normal in Sicily. It has direct bus links to Menfi, Sciacca and Palermo (possibly more) and is inexpensive. You can rent one of two rooms in this very spacious apartment and it is situated right at the bottom of Corso Umberto, the main street of Sambuca. The back of the apartment looks out over a garden with fruit trees and a few hens! I have spent many an hour sitting on the balcony above that garden. There are a couple of bars nearby, practically next door, one sells mainly savouries, the other mainly pastries etc. The ice cream and coffee are good too. The fantastic street food takeaway is no longer mobile but instead has a permanent place in a building, only a few minutes walk along this street. You are spoilt for choice for eating out in Sambuca though and it is all excellent! There is plenty parking just round the corner and a grocery store too. You are in the centre of it all, perfect for exploring Sambuca and the surrounding areas. The beach at Menfi is gorgeous and only 20 minutes drive and the centre of Sciacca is about 30 minutes or so. There has been a problem with the internet the past few days unfortunately (not the hosts' fault) but up til now it was a fast speed and worked throughout the apartment. The hosts are very lovely people, they respond very quickly to any queries and are super helpful...grazie mille! I could go on and on about how wonderful Sambuca is and list all the things you can do and see in and around but I recommend you come see for yourself. Personally I love it here!

No kitchen sadly but there is a working microwave, kettle and coffee maker. The double bed was too hard for me also. These are the only negatives I have found in my two weeks here and if it wasn't for these things, for me, this place would be a 10/10

Location was perfect, there was a pasticceria very close, the bathroom was huge with a bathtub which was very pleasant after all day outside biking. The owner gave us fresh oranges and lemons.
