Very roomy and quiet

Our stay at the Nauvoo Temple House Hotel was exquisite! The rich history of the building and the charm of the room were both top notch and the customer service of the staff was just icing on a delicious cake. We loved our experience and would absolutely return again!

The historic building was well done and as up to date as possible. The 3 flights of steps were daunting to get up to our very comfortable king bed but the room was pretty and clean. Was very disappointed that no place in town had breakfast on a Friday morning. No coffee in the room available either.

Because we booked our rooms late, we needed to change rooms for our second and third night. Management and the cleaning staff went out of their way to clean our room early so we could move rooms without packing everything to our car and back in again. The rooms were quaint and charming and very comfortable. We loved the location.

Strongly suggested to front desk, Eleanor, that Nauvoo Temple House Hotel consider adding additional information to their signs near the front door to elaborate, "formerly Woodruff Hotel."
Attempted to check in late after the Big Baldridge & Bonfire 2024 @ Nauvoo, IL.
As there is no hotel lobby, i got super confused, wandering around, trying several of the doors.
Later spoke to front desk, Eleanor, who said I was sent an "email or text message" that day with instructions to check in at a different location. I checked my spam folder and nothing. I was actively checking emails & texts that day- nothing received.
I spoke to the hotel later in the night who suggested I walk around, in the dark, in an unfamiliar town despite knowing my companion with whom I am traveling has a physical disability.
I left and checked into another hotel.

We went to check in and were told we needed to drive down the street to another building to get the keys to our room, It took us an extra hour to find the place and get the keys, then drive back to the hotel. We were on the 3rd floor and no elevator. I loved the big fluffy bath towels.

It was as expected for a historic old property. We didn’t like the idea of them asking for gratuities when there was no soap when we arrived (but they did come drop some off at our door) and no one is around on Sunday so there was really nothing for them to do! Mainly a bed and breakfast without the breakfast.

Booked last minute. Was quiet surprised at the room. Very clean and tidy in historical building. Was 2 flights of stairs to get to but not a problem for us and we knew that when booked. Check in was at different location but friendly and informative staff. Definitely book again if in area.

Dining options are not as good this time of year. They are seasonal and it slows down in September. Casey's convivence store has juice, muffins, donuts for a quick breakfast snack. Red Front has fabulous sandwiches within walking distance.

Great place to stay during off season in Nauvoo. Glad it was listed on Hotels.com. Perfect for the two of us.

We chose this location for the historic style and location it offered. We expected a "period place" and that is what we got. Still, we are in a modern world. So, it would have been nice to have easier access to electrical outlets; and, a few more hooks would have been nice. The location was within easy walking distance of places we wanted to see and experience. We were delighted with our experience and would definitely choose it again.

The room was clean. No concerns.

The room was small but was very clean. We didn’t need a lot of space and was very responsibly priced.

Great location for families. We appreciated a large clean room for our whole family to stay in. Cute quiet town.

Nice facility, reasonable price. Staff were very professional.
Would definitely stay again.

Very spacious room and bathroom with a comfortable bed

Darling little property but if you need an elevator do not stay at the temple house. Our bathroom door didn’t lock or even really close but it was fine. They provided an extra bed for my niece who tagged along one of the nights which was super nice. Make sure you have water bottles and food before 7:00 as this little town shuts down at about 7:00. But guys! Nauvoo is magical!! Go!!

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable!

Great central location. We arrived quite late and check in is at another location. Directions to hotel not real clear. It’s a historic building, so appreciate that would not have a lot of conveniences. Unable to adjust AC and we were freezing. bathroom was dark, only 1 light bulb. Extra hideaway bed in room was not necessary and made room look cluttered. No breakfast options. Not fault of hotel, but there is nothing close by that opens up before 10 other than the gas station. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an experience to stay in this historic hotel but there are a few other options.

The shower did not work well. Water was too hot and could not lower the temperature without losing water pressure.
The shower walls leave no space to move.

It was less than one block away from the Temple. 2 blocks from the Pagent area. The room was a beautiful old style room. Very comfortable king bed. Roomy room and bathroom. Love it.

No service at all, difficult to find

When there is a Minerva Tiechert canvas hanging in the bathroom, you know you are at a quality hotel. 😃 The historic vibe was great—be aware of the steep stairs typical of a building from the mid-1800’s. Wonderful updates and decor. Very comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant below—bbq and sides hit the spot.

Really clean rooms. We were happy with our stay. It was a great location for visiting Nauvoo. We would definitely stay again.

We loved our spacious, comfortable, and quiet suite. We had our dog with us, and the staff was very accommodating. We checked in very late, so had to check in down the street several blocks, but once we got into our rooms, we were very happy. Highly recommended for any touristic visits to historical sites.

The air conditioner didn’t work so the room was hot and stuffy. There was a fan but it was noisy

Cute property with a great location. It was fun to stay in a place that took you back in time a little bit but had all the modern conveniences. It still felt very private even though it was more home style lodging. Walking convenience to many sites, restaurants, and the laundry mat. I would stay here again for sure.

It was awesome having a big room. It was a cute location and hotel. I liked that it was historical. With only one bathroom, I would highly recommend a mirror in the bedroom so that people can get ready in the room as well.

The room was very good, just small we didn't have much room for our suitcases. I had to put one partially under the bed. Its location was great.

We arrived a day earlier than planned. We found this hotel at the last min and oh how glad we were that we did! Beautiful historic home with a breathtaking view of the Temple, especially at night! Roomy and comfortable. Wonderful staff!

It was great. Close to things.

It was old and smelled bad. I would not stay in that building sharing. The staff were amazing though.

We enjoyed a very comfortable king bed in a large and nicely renovated room that overlooked the shops along the street. The bath towels were deluxe and everything was very clean. It almost felt like we were in an elegant hotel from an old western movie but with air conditioning.
