Location great - easy and interesting walk into town for great shops and restaurants and easy walk to the funicular to beach. Hotel is beautiful and staff really helpful and friendly. We stayed in the villa apartment 4 and this was very spacious, beautifully furnished with a large terrace with a beautiful view of the sea

The pool area is lovely but the pool is on the small side and very chlorinated which was painful on the eyes. Our apartment was very dark.

The view from the “Love Nest” apartment was outstanding - much better than what I was expecting and much better than surrounding hotels. The positioning was perfect.

The property has amazing views, especially from the roof terrace restaurant. The rooms are well appointed but a bit outdated. The pool whilst small was pretty and great for a cool down. The breakfast was very good. The free mini bar was a plus.

The curtains need to be changed as not black out or lined to block out intense morning sun. The evening meal was expensive for the standard.

Rooms are very nice. Good furniture. We had a terrace, sunny in the morning, shady in the afternoon. Nicely and interestingly decorated hotel. Staff at the restaurant for dinner we're great..head waiter/manager was very good. View from the restaurant is outstanding at all times of the day. Interesting library room as well.

Staff att the pool are indifferent, almost rude, or simply not there. Seemed to be a chore to get a towel or order a drink. Breakfast looks better than it is. Lunch...salads or ok, don't bother with anything else. Pool is very small, and if there are kids (I would recommend this should be adults only hotel)..forget about using it., And pool area is awkwardly laid out. (It is nice when you are in it, if it's not crowded) View from room is good, but a rather insight hotel between this one and the water obstructs it somewhat. This hotel is charging 5 star plus prices , and the service and quality are not worth it. It just doesn't really get there. If you are charging and promising that much, needs to exceed expectations. It is a "small luxury hotel " brand/member. I have stayed at several of these hotels around the world, and this one does not live up, sorry.

A wonderful stay at Villa Carlotta. The room was comfortable and well presented, as was the whole of the hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Restaurant was excellent. Wonderful food.

Outside area/swimming pool and service. After having stayed in the sister hotel (Villa Ducale) 9 years ago, this hotel had been on my husbands hit list. It was unfortunately a disappointment. The service at the Ducale was fabulous. Here, however was not great. Wasn’t given any info upon arrival and had to go back to reception to ask for towels as nobody was manning the bar by the pool. The pool and area surrounding it is very small. When we went to the rooftop bar for a quick drink at about 10.30pm, we were made to feel like we were a nuisance as was told by the waiter that they were tired. Found myself apologising for being there! This is meant to be a 5* hotel but it’s falling very short. We’d just come from a 4* hotel in Syracuse where the service was outstanding. Think the Carlotta needs to up their game if they’re to compete with some of the other wonderful hotels in Taormina with many being the same price or less.

Service was great. Food was very good. Location was good.

The room was small for a Junior Suite. Balconies are just window sills with railings. Air Con was not turned on centrally, so could not be operated in room. We were told to open windows! Eventually provided with a fan. Air Con is advertised as available, so should be operational. Thin curtains, meant we were woken at 6am every day. Pool is not suitable for swimming. It is a plunge pool.

The apartment was huge, was very clean, well appointed and comfortable. The wonderful sea view an added bonus.

The pool area is very small and there is no real service there. Service in the restaurant was also not what you’d expect from a hotel of this level and the food was mediocre.

Charming hotel, the staff is wonderful and super nice and kind, the restaurant is great, fantastic breakfast. We didn't have good weather so we couldn't enjoy the pool and other amenities but hopefully next time.

We rented an apartment, which was spacious and comfortable. The only thing I would change is that the master bed as too close to the armoire, so the flow of the room was hampered by that, at night you'd always ran into the bed. I'm sure it's something that can be fixed.

Fantastic old building, perfect location, wonderful views, exuberant decor, enthusiastic front desk staff.

Top floor restaurant lovely facility, but during our stay staff was overwhelmed so that dinner experience was decidedly negatively impacted. Breakfast better though staff seemed inexperienced for this caliber of hotel.
