The location of the hotel in LlanfairPG is good for exploring Anglesey. There is a large, re-surfaced car park by the railway station opposite the hotel with good sized parking bays and, best of all, it is free. The double bed room was a good size with a view of the famous railway station and car park. That was as good as it got.

Upon arrival on the Saturday evening, there was an awful smell in the bar / restaurant / reception area coming from, I assume, the kitchen. The smell was similar to some self-cleaning ovens during the burn cycle. Eating there was a definite no. After eating elsewhere, we returned around 9pm to have an early night. Upon lifting the duvet, we discovered the sheets had many hairs, black bits and a stain. One of the bedside cabinets was also filthy (sticky and stained). The manager / owner(?) changed the sheet, pillowcases and duvet cover and cleaned the bedside cabinets. He insisted they had been washed since the last guests were there. The carpet had not been vacuumed for some time so that may have been the source of the hair and bits on the sheet. The (same) person preparing and serving breakfast had a very bad, persistent cough. He put his hand over the mouth to contain the spread and continued with his work. This, and the smell the previous evening, meant that the full English breakfast was not going to be a pleasant dining experience, but rather a fast refuelling operation followed by a hasty exit. The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. The decor and furniture is reminiscent of the 70s. Paper was peeling off in the bedroom. The bed and breakfast cost over £100 for 1 night. This is extremely poor value for money. Would we recommend this hotel? Absolutely not.

The staff was very kind. Very good atmosphere and the hospitality. It's very convenient to walk to the railway station and shops.

the bed was too soft to me. The carpet wasn't well vacuumed.

Easy to find and parking on site. Staff were really friendly. There is a nice Indian Restaurant on site. What really impressed us is that they opened the kitchen an hour earlier in the morning as we had to leave early to catch a ferry.

For our purposes no complaints at all
