Perfect location, walk to everything and rooms were comfortable

Staff were nonchalant and the live music below was extra! Booking pub accommodation you expect hearty noise but it was certainly party week. I’m not adverse to partying, but those booking expect loud live music every night until late. Each night was a different cover band, some better than others!

The service we got at the hotel was unparalleled. They were happy to help, but also down to earth. It was like they anticipated what it would feel like to be a tourist and tried to give us the best holiday. The rooms were clean - including the balcony that is often neglected - and the bedding lovely. Special mention to Aquarius for helping me out, she was absolutely wonderful. The air con was clean and wonderful, the carpet clean and well washed. The location of the hotel was fantastic, and even the shuttle service they recommended was wonderful. Above a pub, but great noise reduction so you didn't hear it.

They could have nicer toiletries, but that's no big deal as I brought my own. They were eco-friendly ones as well, which was a positive.

they gave us an alternate room once I said we would leave rather than stay in the room assigned to us (despite telling us they were fully booked and had no other room)

I booked about 6 months in advance and the photos of room and position/view of room were rather lovely. What we got was a room on the main road facing a huge drive-in bottle shop with music blaring straight at the room from early morning to late at night. Once I said I was leaving, they gave us the "emergency" room, used mainly by staff. There was 1 chair, 1 coffee cup, 1 teacup, no teaspoons, no coat-hangers and after the first 24 hours, no internet to the TV (therefore no apps like Netflix). Photo shows the view from the front door of the Courtyard Room. I had a video of the loud music being played at 9.30 pm at that bottle shop but it wouldn't upload. You get the point though.

Location location locations- with a Seaview room with balcony was amazing throughout the day and specially the evening & sunrise times. Great welcoming on arrival and fast check in. It can get pretty loud specially on a wkend night with bands and the vibrant surroundings so just keep this in mind. Also take into consideration that you’re right in town with all the conveniences.

The endless amount of text messages, emails prior to checking in. I was absolutely overloaded with welcoming messages which lm not saying it’s the worst thing though it could be an automated problem
