Beautifully renovated home, with all necessities located in the middle of -what feels and sounds like- nature. Located ‘off grid’, yet close enough to all holiday necessities: shops, restaurants, beach, nice towns (incl Lucca, Pisa, Florence).. Very nice and helpful home owner, living on the premises.

The house is in a great location, hidden deep within the forest on the hills surrounding Camaiore. When you're climbing the path to the house, you're entering a different realm. I've always been hearing birdsongs throughout my stay. Being far away from the civilization wasn't inconvenient at all, though - you can get to Camaiore (which is a lovely town that has all a family needs - shops, restaurants etc) by car in 5 minutes. The garden surrounding the house is a wonderful addition - full of lovely nooks, interesting plants, and of course lots of beautiful hydrangeas. The house has a magical atmosphere, it's full of small, lovely details and accents, like antique amenities and accesories, but at the same time very modern and comfortable. It has all the amenities a typical family requires. The owner is a very nice guy, very helpful, hospitable and caring. He is always available via Whatsapp. There is also a gardener on-site, who discreetly cares for the garden surrounding the house, and is ready to help you with whatever you need. From the house there is a wonderful view at the hills. You can reach the sea in a 20-minute drive. It's also really close to Pisa, Lucca, Pietrasanta, Pistoia, Carrara and the wonderful Garfagnana region. Sometimes I was faced with a dillemma - to go sightseeing, or to stay in this wonderful house? It's a really great and comfortable place, which I'd recommend to anybody. Mauro, thank you so much for everything. We'll always have a soft spot for you and your lovely house in our hearts.

Communication with owner was very good and instructions clear. Arriving we found the access road a bit longer and steeper than expected, the hire struggled with a full load. The house was very well equipped and comfortable. The owner met us and spoke very good English. There is a second smaller property in the grounds where a handyman/gardener lives to help with any issues. We had 2 minor issues whilst staying and both were resolved promptly and satisfactorily. The house is on a steep wooded hillside and is about 20 minutes walk into Camaiore but more like 35 minutes walking back up the hill. There were honey bees nesting at the time of our stay which caused no problems and the owner advised of their presence. The main bedroom has a large comfortable kingsize bed, the second twin bedroom as stated is accessed from outside the main house and a 3rd bedroom/sitting room has a good sofa bed. There are en-suite bathrooms to the 1st & 2nd bedrooms and a house bathroom next to the 3rd/sitting room. There is a steep staircase to the master bedroom from the living area. The living area has a two seater sofa and a bench window seat. The broadband works very well and currently is via mobile connectivity but the owner is currently installing a cable. The gardens are beautiful and terraced due to the steep hillside. There is room to dine outside and a bbq provided with wood for fuel. The kitchen is well equipped and even provided with many cooking basics (salt, pepper, cooking oil etc). We had a very pleasant 2 week stay visiting Florence, Pisa, La Spezia, the Cinque Terre, Lucca and Barga plus more. The beach along the versilia coast is very popular and close with a multitude of locations and facilities to make use of if that’s your thing. We preferred inland into the hills and sightseeing. The owner has furnished the house for his own use in winter and it shows in the quality and comfort. I would recommend the Villa Giovanna to anyone wanting a bit of peace and quiet. It is a lovely house located close to the see coast (about 15 minutes drive) and not so far away from hiking tours (ca. 1 hour drive). The town center of Camaiore, with nice ristorante-pizzerias and shops, is only 20 minutes walk away from the house. I would recommend this location to those who would like to relax and spend some time on the coast and in the mountains. The house is very well equipped, wifi works good (including streaming of videos and movies).
