We loved this place truly. It was clean, beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Gorgeous tapestries and decor, felt very New Orleans. We enjoyed the porch a lot too, drinking wine and watching the streetcar. Slept great in the beds. We went to the coffee shop when we woke up and then the French Quarter was right there, took the streetcar. Lovely experience. Will stay here every time and thank you to the host for the wine and cake, so thoughtful! True NOLA Gem!!

We really enjoyed this house! I felt like Marie Antoinette for the night in Versailles. It was our first time to New Orleans and wow, we were quite blown away. Its an incredible and important historical property. Amay could literally charge admission for tours of this gorgeous example of French Colonial /Victorian architecture and the grounds. You feel as though you are stepping into the past but with modern updates. But, Do not expect super modern amenities but you will have everything you need to be comfortable! Beds were heavenly. Location could not be better. We used the nearby 24 hour gym, and walked to the Station coffee shop, and Dots donuts is right there too. Also, we took the baby and dog to City Park, maybe a 15 min walk--perfect and we felt very safe. Loved it overall, and highly recommend, thank you for the wine and goodies also Amay. We will definitely be back and do recommend!!

We had a girls group of 7 for my Birthday. Amay was so thoughtful leaving us cupcakes and B day crown. She also hooked us up with a great tour guide. The house is gorgeous. Truly. We all said best rental wed ever stayed in--hands down! Nice decor and bedding, and lots of New Orleans & French themed artifacts, books. Its old-timey, has a gas stove (great for cooking) Retro fridge and kitchen. We didnt want to go out, it was so fun! Location unbeatable too! Close to everything and felt safe and cozy at night. We WILL stay again, every time. Thank you for being a great Host and your hospitality Amay, see you next time! Marie B

We loved the dollhouse, my two daughters were in sheer heaven. I read one negative review and my sister was concerned, but there was a lot of other good ones and the house was too pretty to pass up. Everything worked just fine, its an old gas stove which was super cool, you jus light it and it was perfect. All shiny and clean. Gorgeous tapestries and wallpaper. Beds were great, very vintage or antique and old time, but mattresses were nice and comfy, we slept great. Location is super because you can walk to the cemetaries and we went to the Morturary nearby, kids loved it and easy trip on the streetcar to the aquarium and Bourbon st. House is decorated like a movie set or fairy tale. Just gorgeous and not too girly, as my husband loved it too, and we also had our small pup, and courtyard worked well for her and walking her around. Overall, we will stay again for sure and recommend it, 5/5, you dont want to miss this for a real New Orleans experience!!

We stayed at the Dollhouse for my Bach party-7 ladies. It was better than expected! Its like you are in another time. Gorgeous colors and very feminine and serene! First time for several of us visiting New Orleans. Amay was so helpful in offering suggestions. The location is the best, just minutes from the French Quarter, and the Trolley stops right out front! We felt safe and happy. Loved the antiques, and decor, very Marie Antoinette/ French style. Surpassed all expectations! Clean and stunning! Will stay here when we return for sure. Recommended, thank you Amay!!

Our family stayed recently, five of us , my wife esp loved this house. Was crazy about it! We had never been to NO, so what a treat. You feel like its100 years ago, very true to the historic area. We loved the four poster bed and the kids slept in twins, everyone was happy, they took tons of pics for their SM even, to show off. Its like a fairy tale dollhouse really. Was very clean and also she left out wine and snacks. And even more toiletries than needed and coffee, which we enjoyed, but there was also a coffee shop we walked to. Was great. Amay was super helpful with ideas and area was perfect, right outside the French Quarter we felt safe and took the Trolley directly to Bourbon st. Easy. We cant wait to stay again. Thank you Amay!

In a few words:
The property page was unclear regarding upstairs and downstairs bathroom and bedroom accommodations.
We were 3 couples +1 single guest and owner expected us to share a bedroom with our single friend which may be ok for teenagers but not when you are pushing 60…
Literally nothing worked in the house.
All tubs, toilets and sinks were clogging up and bathtub faucets falling off from the wall…
Paint and wallpaper peeling from ceilings and walls.
All Mattresses totally worn out and box springs half way on/off the floor or held up with a can of beans (picture available )
“cottage” ( actually a garage) toilet backed up into the tub within a couple of usage and bathroom became totally unusable.
Kitchen: pretty dishwasher but not plugged in, 2 gas burners unusable because not connected and 4 keurig pods for 7 people, dirty fridge and freezer in need of defreezing for space to make ice cubes.Dining room unusable for 7 with a 3 legged chairs( picture available) finally porch not set up for conviviality with dilapidated chairs and an ashtray still full of cigarette butts.
Clearly this property has deferred maintenance.
But the worst part was the host attitude:
not helpful, blamed us for what was happening and answered to our questions that all informations was sent by email ( never received) a printout in the house would have been an easy fix.
Now that we are out of this place we will laugh about our experience at chez Amay for years to come….
Bonne chance!

this was such a beautiful location. Yes it was a little older or dated but it totally was an era themed Elizabethan home. We could totally picture it in the past! so cute! perfect spot right up from Canal Street. We took the trolley everywhere we needed to go. It was amazing. The host was easily accessible and we had everything we needed. Would 100% stay again. also you can fit so many guests here it’s insane. We only had 8 ladies and ample room to spread out!

We had a wonderful stay in this precious house thanks to our host. She described the house perfectly and even took steps to make sure our two families had plenty of room to be comfortable in our stay. This house is located conveniently in New Orleans with streetcar access to everything anyone would want to see and do in the city. Amay was so wonderful and I'd like to thank her again for accommodating us. We had a fantastic Mardi Gras in part because of her hospitality.

I loved everything about this place and Amay was such a gracious host. It was my birthday and she made sure my time in New Orleans was special. She also ensured I had enough room to accommodate my large group and was quick to respond to any and all of my questions. Check-in was easy, the place was beautiful! The attention to detail was spectacular. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely be staying again next time.

Girls Trip that loves to incorporate adventure into their travels. We rented both the down and up apt's. The decor and layout were part of our adventure. Both were very cute, with decor as appropriate to the house. Hostess very responsive. Descriptions were updated to reflect that there are additional charges, if upstairs apt. needs to be included. We did initially have issue with that, but Amay worked with us to be sure we were all good. We had plenty of room. I loved the repro vintage appliances. Would recommend to appropriate groups for rental. If you are expecting all new shiny things, that is not what this is. It is a comfortable, cute, appropriately decorated home and we were all very comfortable for our stay. The front porch and upper deck were used greatly as gathering places for all of our crew. The trolley stop and several restaurants, City Park and a couple of cemeteries were all within walking distance, for those that had no mobility issues. the trolley was a great way to travel, for those that did. Thank you Amay, for sharing your home with us.

Our group loved staying here! The location near City Park and the streetcar line was perfect for us and the fun decor made it special. Our group of 12 women all were able to sleep comfortably the beds provided and the host was super accommodating when it came to check in/check out times. Would definitely recommend to another group visiting NOLA!

The rental was consumed by pillows and misc novelties that got in the way and were useless. The key situation is a joke. The location is great. The bedrooms were not described well and frankly were misleading. My family is flexible and it really didn’t distract to the overall experience but needs to be said.

Such a beautiful property! We spent much time just taking in all the decor. Super convenient location and the host was magnificent :)

The location was very convenient to airport and downtown both, especially with the trolly at the front door. The home was a little fussy for me, but the good points overcame that. With the activities we had planned, were really not there that much. I had wanted to walk to City Park but the weather did not cooperate, very hot. The kitchen is not set up for much cooking but as it turned out we did not eat a single meal at the house, just morning coffee and bagels, restaurants too good, some very close.

The property was centrally located and navigating to Tulane's campus was easy. Charming house with lots of character. The owner went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

Upon entry, this house gave what was promised! The charm, location, and style in this home made us all feel like we were in the early 1900's, living during the prohibition and LOVING LIFE! This home owner was so gracious and a true pleasure to work with! Highly recommend!

To clarify this property is a large Victorian. The upstairs can be rented separately from the downstairs. The staircases to get to the upstairs portion do not connect with the downstairs part of the house, and the usable one is outdoors. There is a small kitchen area in the upstairs part of the house, so the host refers to the upstairs as the "apartment". The upstairs has 3 twin beds and one full bed. So 5 people can sleep up here comfortably.
The downstairs of the victorian has a kitchen, a living room area with one couch, another couch sort of outside of the living room area, 5 twin beds (3 in one room, two in another room) and one double bed in a separate room. 7 people can sleep here comfortably.
The way the listing is worded, it seems the guest gets the whole house with space for 12 people to sleep, for the price listed on the listing. But the price listed on Vrbo is for the downstairs 5- person portion only. The upstairs of the Victorian, or the, "apartment" is a whole separate space with its own separate nightly price.
There were a lot of problems with the house, as you might expect from an old Victorian. But it seemed a bit much that the wallpaper was peeling from the walls of one of the bedrooms and that the upstairs porch was unsafe. The wallpaper could be an easy fix. The check in process was difficult because it was a bit of a scavenger hunt to find the key under a pot to go to a lock that you shouldn't use and a knob that fell of the staircase door etc. I was glad for the location and the interesting house, but it was anxiety-inducing to learn the intricacies of how to navigate the house. After a rough start though, we got used to the house and started to enjoy it.
There were some wonderful things. The decor was beautiful. The paintings were charming and the decor matched the paintings. The disrepair was a sharp contrast to the care of the decor. So much thought and creativity has gone into what is put inside the house. The cleanliness of the house was amazing. There were so many little fluffy throw rugs that must have come straight out of the dryer. The beds were comfortable and the linens were pristine. The very best part was the trolley stop was right across from the house and we felt safe walking to cute local coffee shops in the morning. The host was kind for leaving some beads and treats for us...very welcoming. So it was an odd property but we had a nice time and it was definitely a memorable experience.

My husband and I got married on a shoe string budget in March and needed a place to put everyone up. We found Amay and from the get go she was incredibly kind and worked very hard to make sure we felt special and taken care of. The house was exactly as pictured and wowed our guests. It also made for some pretty fantastic getting ready photos! The location is perfect(aside from an angry neighbor, but those are unavoidable anywhere) and we felt very safe. I would recommend Amay and the Dollhouse to absolutely anyone and everyone :)

Spent three days here and the location is directly on the trolley line. The configuration is a little strange as you have to go through one of the bedrooms to get to a bathroom. There was plenty of space for our group

This property first caught my eye because of the floral, French and charming vibe. I quickly realized it was meant for my stay in New Orleans for my 40th birthday because the name of the house is my name. I was so excited! When we arrived, it was exactly what I expected. So charming and peaceful. The rental was exactly what we wanted and needed for a place to sleep, shower, get ready and pregame! We loved hanging out on the front porch which looks at Canal Street and the accessibility via streetcars to other areas of town was just perfect. Thank you, Amay Elisabeth!

The location of this home was just perfect. The trolly stop is literally outside the front door. Uber drivers are minutes away for those destinations not near the trolly routes.. Everything you need is already in the house, even if you forget your toothbrush! The kichens are fully equipped, but this is NOLA, why cook? I was a little confused about the layout of the bedrooms, and Amay was great to explain the two floors. Our group of 8 (3 couples and a pair of friends) used the 6 bedroom layout of 2 floors and it was perfect. Amay went out of her way to accommodate our needs, which are a bit different from other renters. Even the guys in the group complimented this vacation rental. It is an older home with some great quirks, and has fun decor and furnishings. We especially enjoyed the gathering area, which reminded me of my grandmother's music parlor. I would definitely recommend this home to friends, and hope to stay there again.

When we come back to New Orleans we would choose this cute place to stay. The host was totally amazing , Words can't describe how accommodating she was. The house had everything we needed right down to the trash bags. If you stay at the house you will not be disappointed.
4.0 / 10.0
Our family of seven adults rented the lower floor of this house over the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon arrival, we were somewhat surprised at the layout of the house. The listing made no mention that the two bathrooms were each only accessible from their associated bedroom. Anyone staying in the third bedroom needed to access a bathroom through one of those bedrooms. There was no common bathroom, which was inconvenient in a rental with three bedrooms. This bathroom/bedroom layout should be described in the listing. There were a number of plumbing fixtures needing maintenance. For example, the bathtub/shower hot water faucet in the master bathroom did not work properly and the filtered water spout on the kitchen sink was so loose it was hard to use. The mattress on the queen bed in the master bedroom was worn out, hard to sleep on, and needs replacement. Sleeping on it was a bit like sleeping in a bowl. One of the chairs in the entry room was broken and would have potentially been a danger of sit on. Footsteps from renters in the upstairs were noticeably loud, but perhaps that is normal for old houses such as this. Lastly, most of the table surfaces were covered with knick-knacks, making them challenging to use, especially since the host’s policy is to charge extra for any furniture that are moved and not returned to their original state. In general, there were a lot of books and other decorations lying around, taking up space, and making it harder to utilize the bedrooms. We run a bed and breakfast and do not leave our property in this condition. Overall, this house need maintenance, repair, and reduction of unnecessary ‘stuff’ lying around.
Despite these limitations, nearly all of which could be easily remedied, the house was clean, had the utensils and appliances we needed, had good Wifi, is very close to the trolley, and is within easy walking distance to a number of restaurants.

This house was perfect for what we needed. We rented both the apt and the house so had the whole property to ourselves. Neighbor was so friendly and went over the things to look out for while in town and must sees and dos. The neighborhood felt safe enough to go for morning walks and runs in. Trolley literally picks you up right out front to take you to French quarter. Steps away from the cemetery and great coffee, Sacred grinds and morning call. We had a blast and would stay here again. ♥️♥️

The location of the Dollhouse was great for our bachelorette party. The host was also very responsive and sent people over multiple times to resolve issues.
That being said, this house is currently for sale/on the market, and they literally removed a whole bed from the premises. The bed had to be delivered in the middle of the night so that we had enough beds for people to stay. This type of mishap is not acceptable , especially given that the host knew how many people were coming. Additionally, the house was borderline not functional — every single open space had some knick-knack on it (including multiple broken and burned lamps) and the host was very clear we couldn't touch/move anything. We needed to keep everything on the floor and trip over each other's stuff.
This is a very particular type of house and I wouldn't recommend it for 8 person bachelorette parties given (i) lack of space/cleanliness (ii) bed-issue unless they update the posting and (iii) strict rules about things not being moved. It likely works better for for a 5 person booking.
Admittedly this was my first booking for VRBO, and I'm not sure if these types of issues are common or not.

Fun unique mid-city Doll house. My kids loved it. 6 of us had plenty of room in the downstairs house area. Clean, everything worked. Old house charm. Definitely better than a hotel room. Highly recommend. Great responses from owner.

Myself and 10 friends stayed here for 4.5 days for my bachelorette party. This place is impeccably decorated and perfect for an ultra feminine getaway. It's like an American Girl Dollhouse come to life! Amay, the host, is very accommodating and communicative. She helped me rent both the upstairs and downstairs so we could accommodate all 11 people, and even left us a bottle of wine to get the party started upon arrival. The location was central & the accommodations were comfortable after long days sightseeing and long nights out and about. Highly recommend, especially for a girls' trip of any type!

Beautiful and cozy home! Initially, there was some confusion with bedrooms but we were able to sort it out and we had an amazing time! Next time we will rent both the upstairs and downstairs! The house had so many different decorations on the inside that made it really special. Many thanks to Amay! She was very sweet and helped make our visit a breeze!

My friends and I had a great time staying here when we were in town for a wedding. The house was clean, spacious, and had a lot of old charm. Location was great in a quiet neighborhood only a 10-15 min cab to the French Quarter. Amay was easy to get in contact with, and was very accommodating to our check-in needs. Highly recommend!

The house was so cute! Checking in was easy, we had everything we needed. We added the upstairs, which gave us plenty of room for our group of 9. The front porch made for a great place to enjoy the nice weather, and the trolley was so convenient for getting around town. This was a gorgeous space for a friend’s birthday trip and made her feel like a princess.

Came on a 4 day trip with my whole family, my dad is in his 80s and is from Southern LA so we like to bring him as often as we can, there were 9 of us and we booked bottom and top of the home and had more than enough room, Canal St is great. Lovely home, lots of charm and very spacious, like other reviewers have already pointed out you can get lost looking at all the decor. Amay was so easy to talk to and work with, she just made the process a breeze, also met Tonia when we first arrived and she was lovely as well. Thank you again for the wine and hospitality!
