I liked there price , but obviously expected reasonable accommodation and didn’t get it

Basic is an understatement. No tea/coffe in room Tiny weeny bathroom that could do with a deep clean No Tv that worked Breakfast I didn’t bother, left as soon as we could.

Barking hotel staff are very rude and unprofessional. I reserved a room on booking.com and received confirmation emails. When I got to the property (Barking Hotel), I was not allowed in. A male staff came outside to ask for my name in order to confirm the booking. He went into the hotel and came back shortly after stating they received the booking but he has to confirm the time of the booking. I showed him the emails I received. He had a look and went back into the hotel. Through the glass door, I could see him discussing with another male who I later realised was the manger and another male was listening in their conversation. It took a while. Then the manager came out with a pen and paper to write my name which the first staff already asked for. He went back into the hotel to supposedly check for a booking in my name but returned stating nothing was found. The confirmation emails were shown to him in addition with the booking reference and pin. Again he returned to the hotel to check for a long time and came back with the same response. He was very rude and racist. They were all Asians and left me and my family out in the cold in the middle of the night. They insisted they did not receive the confirmation and would not refund. When reminded the first staff confirmed he received the booking, he changed his testament stating it wasn't my booking that was received but "A" booking. I asked if they have a room we could book, they said no, they are fully booked. Then I contacted booking.com who confirmed the booking was sent to the hotel and advised they will call the hotel manager. After some minutes, booking.com confirmed he has spoken to the manager and we would be allowed entry. At this point the manager came out stating the booking was just received and we could come in. All of a sudden they have a spare room.
