Poor hotel, poor food, poor location
4.1
Reception staff were great.
I opted for the charity scheme, so instead of daily room servicing, the money was donated to charity.

The stay was very enjoyable and the hotel was excellent, the staff were very friendly. I was there for the Leinster v Racing 92 game. The hotel was a very good location for the stadium. I would stay here again.

Nice location. Room was fine. Gave us the option to have a donation made to a children’s charity in lieu of room cleaning, which we liked. Bathroom towels are lame. Overall a nice stay

Still a great place to stay!
4.1
Clearly, this hotel is overrated as a 4-star hotel. It has:
no desk in the room,
no single glass cup in the room,
an elevator about one meter by one meter,
a breakfast offering we decided not to take (others have commented on this)

Fantastic bed!

Room is nice, restaurant is perfect, but the air con inside the room is not really good.

Everything worked Well.

C’était un très bon séjour et le petit déjeuner était délicieux. Cependant, la ventilation était entièrement scotchée close et ne fonctionnait pas correctement, nous avons eu un peu chaud, même en enlevant le scotch.
4.1
Clean, basic and big rooms. I would recommend the hotel. It was bad weather when we were there but it didn't dampen our stay.
4.1
Everything okay, friendly staff, rooms good. Price little bit expensive
4.1
Very very very poor breakfast, better than nothing only.
4.1
Best location in town. Great dining area with big widows and outside area to relax for a coffee or drink.
10-15 min walk from Docks shopping center.
4.1
The reception and food are amazing. Nothing to complaint. Only thing is to get to the car park, there will be a unroof path. If it is raining, you will get slightly wet.

The location was great. Good restaurants and shopping close by.

Very easy to go to sightseeing places. You can walk around in the city. Friendly staff

Ideal location to stay ahead of catching the early morning ferry. However, if your car is over 1.8m you cannot use the underground parking.
Brunch excellent value. Good selection of food for evening meal.

It was a nice stay!

This hotel has 3 advantages over many French hotels: 1) larger than average room size, 2) Air Conditioning, 3) Good position in relation to shops, bars, transport (e.g. tram to beach) but also easy walk (10 minutes?) from the ferry to/from Portsmouth. Will stay there again next time

This was a positive experience. Our rom was spacious with a comfortable bed, a coffeemaker and hot water kettle. Furnishings were a little dated but clean. Very good two nights before our cruise. The room staff were very efficient.
We were less happy with finding where to book in - a lovely young lady on a chair near the bar. Similarly in asking for directions - find the person somewhere in the bar. The bar was not so busy, nor the restaurant that a proper reception/concierge wouldn’t be an improvement.

need more english speaking people there to help with local attractions and tours

We stayed here for a couple nights and found it to be a nice comfortable stay. The room was spacious and staff were friendly and willing to help in anyway. It’s located well within walking distance of the city centre. We would happily stay here again. Wifi for the most was great just the odd pause here and there.

Do not really understand the 4* rating. The hotel is nice, however in need of some modernisation in areas such as the bathroom. The check in and out process was extremely slow, with only 1 person available resulting in large queues. As there is no formal reception area this meant that you were queuing in the way of the games area mixed with the bar and seating area. Not ideal. The hotel is very clean and is suitable for a short stay.
4.1
No room temperature control. It was way too hot in the room and after calling the reception 3 times in the middle of the night they admitted they couldn't do anything. We hardly slept. There was a temperature knob but it didn't do anything.
Upon check-in no explanation of facilities (or even breakfast) was given. Personnel was friendly. Rooms were clean. Shower (in a bath) very uncomfortable for someone over 1.85m. Bathroom is very big, but facilities are not wel placed. Toilet extremely close to the wall, so very uncomfortable.
4.1
Car park very badly sign posted. No lift from car park to hotel. Had to carry suit cases up a narrow staircase.

Le Havre is a perfect stopover between the Seine and the villages along The Channel. And the Mercure is a good choice to spend a night. Restaurants (many) are good and within walking distance. The marketplace is, as well. Parking on the street was metered but plentiful and not expensive. The room was very large. CNN and BBC News on TV, as well as free WIFI.
