The service staff were amazing and the facility was kept very clean.

During our recent stay at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys in 2024, we couldn't help but notice a decline in the hotel's overall condition compared to our visit in 2019. Back then, the property was well-kept and bustling with activity, but our latest experience left us feeling disappointed. While the room was clean, it unfortunately appeared worn and outdated. The lack of a view, as we faced the parking lot, added to the feeling of being in a less appealing space. The breakfast offerings were limited, which was a letdown compared to what we remembered. The pool area, which could have been a highlight, looked unkempt, and we were surprised to find no pool towels available. Overall, while we appreciated that the hotel provided a place to rest during our travels, the current state of the property makes it hard to recommend. Based on this experience, we would likely look for alternative accommodations on our next visit to the Keys.

Came in to see Taylor and had a great experience. Clean rooms. Nice staff. Quiet area with plenty around.

Nice place for the money ended up staying here evacuating from hurricane Milton. For me and my family of four it was just fine breakfast is also a plus!

Great place for the money

Overall, it was a good stay. We were on the 2nd floor, with only stairs to get to our room, so hauling up bigger suitcases was a bit of a challenge. Though it's not a super big deal, you are asked to return the card keys to the front desk upon checking out. It was a decent place to stay and highly recommended.

This hotel is in a good location if you are heading down to the keys. We encountered some issues but the staff was helpful and dealt with them efficiently. There are a variety of restaurant options in the area. The pool area was spacious and inviting.

Keeping in mind that this is a budget hotel, here are my thoughts. For us this was a one night stay. Check in was fine. The clerk friendly. The room was clean and quiet. The bathroom was clean. The only issue for me was the bed. I’d booked a single queen room and discovered it was only a double. A little tight for two people. However, only one night, so not a big deal. However, the mattress was far from comfortable. Generally I like a firm mattress, but this was way too stiff for me. Breakfast was good: eggs, sausage, waffles (no fruit). A bit crowded, but not bad. This was fine for one night, but I don’t think I’d want to stay here for any longer unless that replace their mattresses.

After already giving my name and contact information to Expedia, Best Western requested the same information saying they couldn’t access it because it came from a third party. Also, the toilet was hung and wouldn’t stop running. Had to jiggle the handle to get it to stop.

Over 10 days at numerous motels during our fly drive this was most definitely the best! Everywhere was clean, tidy & recently refurbished, beds & pillows comfy, floor in the room was clean when you walked barefoot (unlike anywhere else!) breakfast great, excellent value for money!

Not if it’s a heated pool, or the Florida heat, a little bit too hot, when you need it to cool yourself, other than that nice clean pool I wish it was cooler.
