Castle Waimea Country Lodge has been a great place to stay.

Great place to catch some 💤

Our stay was amazing until the electricity went off. Ended up taking tepid shower verses the hot desired temperature one in the early sunlight. It did rain, hard with lightning and thunder that night. The electricity did come back about 7:30 AM, but after my short shower.

A very convenient location for staying in Waimea-- there are two supermarkets and one health store across near by. Several restaurants/coffee shops within a mile and a lovely 1 mile (2 mile round trip) nature path across the street. It is a bit of a drive to Kona or Hilo but still accessible. Email the hotel with your information (email address) even if you intend to check in before 4 PM (flight delays etc) so they can email you with how to check in after hours. Staff were friendly in person and on the phone. In addition to a coffee maker, my standard room had a mini fridge which allowed me to store snacks/produce w/o fear of spoilage or pests.

I stay a few times a year. The Upgraded furniture was refreshing as the rooms were long overdue for upgrades!

Older facility but clean and lots of room.

I really enjoyed this little traditional motel. It had everything I wanted: a nice clean bathroom, great TV, a comfortable bed, fast WiFi, and a quick and friendly check-in. This was one of my favorite stays on the Big Island. I wish every community in Hawai'i had a motel just like this. Perfect!

Nice place. Seemed pretty new. Only downside was to exit the property you had to enter on to a very busy road.

March 2024: very enjoyable 3 days in a cute drive in motel. rooms are very reasonably priced. ours had a nice little kitchenette. the bathroom was nicely renovated. most important to us: It was clean. don’t come expecting pools and beaches, but if you are looking for a nice place to make day trips from, this will do nicely. many eating options within 5 minutes of walking, as well as a grocery. okay, it’s not 5 Star eating. mostly small local restaurants. we would stay here again. one of the reviews I read included a complaint about making the tv work. first, why are you watching tv? second, all hotel tv systems suck. third, they have a laminated instruction sheet on tv use.

No heat in the room it was 56 degrees in the room the bedding was for summer weather I was cold all night

A gem of an accommodation find near the top of the Big Island, only a 40 minute drive from the Kona airport. We travelled around the Big Island for six nights and this property was the most comfortable, modern, quiet, and convenient. The staff were extra helpful as well. The motel has a humble exterior, but we were delightfully surprised once inside our room.

We loved our stay! Waimea felt local and less touristy. Very friendly staff in a central location. Food walking distance in either direction.

We had a room with kitchen. The room is renovated, quite big. We had a great stay with family and 2 kids. Location and parking are also very convenient - you can walk around to a super store, coffee shop etc. Above all, the lady at front desk is super helpful and provided us great customer service. We will definitely stay here again!

Checkout day looking for coffee..person handling had difficulty delivering coffee. Cofee not replaced in room, when requested..reluctant to provide. Really?

The place is clean and just recently renovated. Love it.

Affordable and size of the room were good. And everything worked and I could change my towls easily.

Overpriced 2-star motel. Nearly no service provided. You would have a much better experience staying in the nearby Paniolo Greens in Waikoloa Village or other B&B options.
