I would not recommend & will never stay here again. The bed was so saggy, the pillows uncomfortable & the sheets rough & worn. I could hardly sleep. Also my room was not made up during the day. I left the “make up my room” light on when I left at 9:30am. But by 4pm when I returned the room still hadn’t been made. By then it was too late, I hardly wanted to be bothered.

My room was not cleaned and when I checked out, they checked me out of the wrong room. Property is beautiful but service is incredibly lacking for an awarded four star hotel.

absolutely loved this place and plan on returning. me and my partner loved every minute of our stay from the room to the in room dining to the balcony.

My room was put together, but not clean. There was dust caked on the vents, huge caulk was in the shower, but was pulling away from the wall. The bottom of the door in the bathroom was literally disgusting, bubbling up I’m surprised the door even shut. The vent in the room kept sucking in the heavy curtain, so I to use their round pillow to ensure it kept it open. I got the room on sale, I’d never think this would be worth the full price. It’s literally just the name that they are holding onto. Maybe they pay more mind to the rooms that are more expensive, but the room I was in, no way.

The location was conveniently located for my visit during the holidays. The friendly greering by staff, the cleanliness, and decor was outstanding. Ms. Stafford made the Check-out process an easy process and her professional and courteous demeanour throughout was appreciated. Aa someone who has travelled the world, I found it shocking that the hotel does not provide a rea kettle for those who drink tea, nor a fridge. Having the full menu electronically and the phone line connected directly to the restaurant/in-room food service and housekeeping would be helpful.

By far best hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Staff and valet were amazing! Great room with balcony was very relaxing and a beautiful view! Highly recommend, great getaway to unwind.

Great atmosphere

Very nice property. I may have missed notice of it, but I was surprised after checkout to be charged an extra $22.00. I called to ask about it, and I was told that it was an amenity fee to pay for the "free" coffee and wifi.

AMAZING service by the staff all around! Always a great escape!

I choose the Townsend because of the proximity to the event I had to attend. Also, I am familiar with the Birmingham area and location to family in Bloomfield Hills. Q at the concierge desk was very helpful with locating a private driver due to the Townsend does not have a courtesy vehicle as noted on their website.

Top notch service! Room was a king deluxe , very nice on the top floor. Comfortable, clean, bar well stocked and spacious!

Great one night stay at the Townsend Hotel. Flight arrived late but still serve full restaurant menu in room service until late -- branzino and ceasar was delicious. Great location right in town center and quite. Will be back.

The Townsend is the landmark when in Birmingham. It’s classic luxury with the perfect location to shop, dine and walk around quaint Birmingham, Michigan. The bathrooms are updated very nicely and the service is exceptional.

classic great location beside a great restaurant

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, anywhere. The room was large, loaded with all sorts of amenities, clean, and upscale stylish. Everything in the room worked perfectly. At breakfast in the hotel restaurant, I had perhaps the best eggs benedict ever, including that the toasted English muffin was still a little crispy until the last bite. Service throughout the hotel was prompt, friendly, and professional.

-Worst experience ever-NEVER AGAIN upscale hotel with unqualified poor service and lazy front desk and night shift manager , check -in was awful and discreminated knowing i have disable elder with me . All what we need room close to elevator with window clean view . We were moved to room with depressed little window them to a 2nd room with garbage view in an ally and music play at night then 3rd room with piece of board under the bed look like 3rd world country 1 star hotel making my Mom walk from tower to another knowing that she has mobility difficulty and she is on walker , then we moved to 4th room after i asked for wheelchair ,-very dissatisfied - for almost an hour we were trying to settle in a room to spend our 1 night. Both and especially the manger need to be put demoted and re-training if not fired . Your sorry and apologies mean ZERO for us . You just lost our business , never again and for sure never recommanded
