The hotel is old and there's not much they can do about certain things except a total renovation. It is as clean as it can be and the beds are always comfortable and the amenities are great so I will continue to stay here. The shower drain is a little slow but the fridge is a nice size and keeps things cold.
It is fun to go on the beach and watch the cruise ships go by and with mini golf tennis and many more activities including a fantastic pool, this resort will not disappoint. Just do not take a taxi cab from the airport as they tend to overcharge.
We have only eaten at the bar next to the pool and the pizza and sandwiches are good and the employees there are very friendly.

Computers were down on check in. Arrived at 8 p.m. and took a long time to get a room. Hotel staff was overwhelmed. Weird that many guests arriving after us got a room first with no explanation. We stayed chilled and we understand that not all staff can cope when normal systems go down, even one apology or a breakfast voucher would have gone a long way after a long day of travel. The room was super dated, but very clean. Hotel has some amazing touches, but then room fit out is a let down dinner at the restaurant was AMAZING. Biggest draw back was staff. Mostly felt like they were looking to minimize guest interaction. I know its hard to hire these days, but they need some real hospitality coaching. None of the 7 families that i saw checking in got an apology or any sort of consideration for waiting...some of us for hours, and no one got stressed or mean to staff, so youd think theyd show some love!

Grand and beautiful property with plenty of family friendly activities. The staff was friendly. Fran and Ramon were exceptional. The only downside is you have to uber everywhere because it is not easily accessible to downtown.

encountered a few minor issues upon check-in. I brought them to the staff’s attention, and they were handled promptly and professionally. The manager was particularly kind, personally apologizing and going above and beyond by offering breakfast as a gesture for the inconvenience. The staff’s quick response and excellent customer service really made a difference in my stay. I appreciate the manager’s attention to detail and willingness to make things right. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would stay here again.

I’ve stayed here a few times with my husband. We love the pools, the beach, and not needing to leave the property. They have almost everything and there is not need to leave. On one side of the adult pool is a server; however the 2 days we were at the pool she never crossed to the south side of the pool. Our main disappointment was the bed in room 434. It was terrible. You can clearly see it is worn out and sinking in the middle. My hubby and I woke up each morning with back pain. The pull out couch was too small for us so that wasn’t an option. Our meals and drinks were good. Staff is friendly. The spa staff are also very friendly and I enjoyed my massage from Fernando. We’ll be back but we won’t be sleeping on that mattress again.

Moldy rooms, paint bubbling off of ceiling due to mold. Rude service by most staff. We have been to this hotel on the past and it was amazing, but clearly they have let it get run down and don’t treat their guests well at all now. Very disappointed in this stay, I will not be coming back.

Like usual, the Lago Mar does not disappoint! The beach is the best around. We have stayed here many times in the past and it is great to see the familiar faces around the resort. The pool is amazing and we had two wonderful rooms with amazing views. We can’t choose anywhere else to visit when we are planning our vacation.

We come to Lago Mar every year. It’s our happy place. The food, service, drinks, amenities, beach, pool, etc. everything is wonderful. We cannot wait for our next get away there!

Happily greeted by staff as I entered. Check in and parking was a breeze. Parking was always amble. Absolutely stunning well maintained property situated on the beach! Chairs and umbrellas were set up and plentiful by the ocean. Clean large comfortable room with balcony. Room service was exceptional and prompt. We will be coming back again. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

This is our 3rd time staying in Lago Mar and we love the family, quiet atmosphere, it’s safe, and has thingns to do for kids, adults. Lago Mar had it right. We love it there.

Had an amazing time staying at this hotel. The front desk attendants were extremely courteous and very friendly, made me feel welcomed. Will definitely be coming back to this location in the near future.

The woman that greeted us at the front desk was amazing. Overall the hotel was ok. I expected more for the price. The hotel buildings are not kept up and many parts smell old and musty. The bathroom baseboards and area around the bath tub were moldy and water damaged. Lastly, a waiter charged a gratuity on my account that I did not approve. I brought it to the attention of the front desk manager and he adjusted my bill, but for such an expensive hotel, I did not expect that, so review your charges. The outdoor area and beach area were very nice.

Overall the hotel was just as good as we expected. The rooms were nice and the hotel is very clean and well taken care of. The feeling of going outside to a pool and being able to walk to the beach is very relaxing. The beach was very empty and private which made the beach experience more romantic and secluded. There was some things that could be different like the entertainment. There was no pool bar and there was no music. Otherwise I will come back if I’m in Fort Lauderdale again and I will recommend it to other people that decide to visit.

The elevator close to my room was out of service so I had to walk down very very long hallways on the opposite side of my room to take the elevator

The property and resort are beautiful. Appointments and decor are lovely….mosaic tiled floors and nice art work in the general areas. Ambience is quiet and relaxed. 2 beautiful pools ( one adults only) maintained well. Parking very convenient.
Two complaints only.. our mattress was too soft and offered no support for my back even though I’m a lightweight elderly lady; although the restaurant on the resort was nice, menu was the same all week with no changes. Menu items we had was well presented but not very seasoned.
